Loving you review!
Thanks for your tips earlier on where to stay and stuff to do on SJU.
We are looking to hopefully book a Journeys Cruise on Sunshine that start in SJU and ends in Port Canaveral. The ports and itinerary seem amazing - SJU, St. Thomas, Antigua, Dominica, Martinique, St. Croix, Grand Turk, Port Canaveral. :) Just trying to figure out flights and all from Toronto and decide (US / CDN exchange rate doesn't hep either :()
We hope to be in SJU for 3 days prior to the cruise. We did the forts, so maybe bio bay, walking around, beaches, maybe rent a car for the duration and drive around exploring...
I have a few questions please.
1. Ferry to Catano - I love rum and am thinking maybe we can do this tour. But we have two kids (8,10) with us. Is it conducive for kids? Would we have to pay for them too? Is there anything else to do on Catano? $1 for a the return ferry ride just for fun sounds good too...
2. Steakhouse - This would be our second cruise. First was on Freedom last Dec and we didn't do the steakhouse. Were thinking that since this would be our 15th wedding anniversary we would go on the first night? Do you have to book on board or can it be done prior? Secondly, I guess it would be best to leave the kids at Camp to go there? Last cruise they did not even go the camp and we just loved all hanging out together and spending family time. They went to check it, but said they would never want to be at Camp while on the cruise.. what fun would that be! LOL
Thanks again!

Please can someone share the link on where to check for these? Thanks!

I received the same thing from Princess. Not that good of a deal...5% if you get $500 but if you get more, you still only get $25. Then again 5% is better than nothing.
Nothing from Carnival. Guess I will keep getting them on AARP and saving 10%.
Can Canadians buy these from AARP? I am ready to buy $3000 worth if I can get 10% off.. Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
-
Wish Canadian's could get these.
I would buy about $3000 of it right now as we are looking to book ...

Posted on John's FB page. He said he would check and get back...

I might want to try this when returning a rental car at SJU and taking the shuttle back instead of a cab?
Where does one pay for or register for the shuttle? Thanks!

Really amazing review so far and love the photos!
We are looking at booking a Journeys cruise on Sunshine that leaves from SJU in December.
Planning to be there 3 days the cruise to get away for the Freezing and Snowy Toronto! Would love some tips on where to stay, what do do, etc.
We were there last Dec while on the Freedom. Loved San Juan! Did both forts and SJU during the day stop there.

Would like a copy too please!

Any news if this promo will run?
-
could it have been a bonus upgrade?
The room number should have changed if that was the case, no?
-
Just tried again and that it doesn't show that anymore! Maybe a glitch?
Maybe I should have just booked?
Tried it for the exact same balcony on deck 7.
-
I didn't finish the transaction. I expanded the details box and I was still looking at a balcony cabin on deck 7!! No was a spa cabin is on 7....weird. Price was exactly the same as I have been seeing g for weeks for the same cabin.
-
Trying to book a cabin on Deck 7 and when i click on continue after seeing the total, I get this...
What does it really mean? Isn't Cloud 9 Spa starting on Deck 10 (Sunshine)?

Any news on GC's for Father's Day?
-
Hi everyone! Any updates about this sale?
Thanks!
Waiting too...

Do Canadian cruisers get Travel Insurance?
We have our healthcare system that would cover, additionally we have benefits form the employer and from the Credit Card (World Elite).
If so, who do you buy from and why?
-
If I book through a TA, can I submit the price drop form myself or does the TA have to do it?
-
I think this is fair...
Question - we were on Freedom in Dec, and used refillable water bottles and filled with water from the ship. It was perfectly fine. So why buy the water even?
-
I'm a TA and can tell you that when someone pays with a gift card, it does not decrease the TA's commission at all. The TA deducting the OBC makes absolutely no sense.
Maybe I can book with you?
-
This does not make sense to me. When I have used a TA that gave OBC, the OBC reduced only if the price of the cruise dropped because their commission was based on the price of the cruise - sailing on Celebrity or RCCL, not Carnival. How does the TA's commission drop if you are using GC? Maybe I'm missing something, but I would be a bit disappointed if this happened to me. :o
I agree completely. We haven't booked yet with the TA... And we're really surprised with their "policy".
-
Yes you certainly could.. I did this on our BC8 cruise and had no problems at all paying off our cruise. The bonus GC's I added the amount on board at guest services and was able to cash them out in the casino as the bonus ones are Non refundable obc.. which means use them or lose them..
Cheers/ Salut
I just contacted our TA. Her response was that for every $100 of GC that I use, she would deduct $25 of the OBC that the Agency was giving us :( (FYI - We were booking with TA as they were offering us $225 free OBC).
So... Just asking - If I were to buy say $2000 of GCs. Can I just pay for my cruise with my MasterCard (earns 2% anyways), then take the GC's with me, load up at Casino and cash out? Would that work?
-
If I were to buy the GCs, would I be able to play for a cruise that we are planning on booking? This would be through a TA. Would the travel agent be able to apply this towards a cruise payment? Thanks!
-
If you were to go on your own, by taxi or say car rental, where would you go?
Would you be able to maybe see turtles just while swimming off the shore?
Thanks!
