  1. I'm confused and maybe somebody can help me with this confusion. I returned from a cruise with a sore throat and cough. I tested positive on May 26th. With medication, my symptoms were gone a week later. A week after that I took a home test and still showed positive. A week later, took a PCR test and I'm positive, so I plan to get a Certificate of Recovery for my August cruise. Now my question is: I know that if on board, you're considered a close contact to someone who tests positive, you're quarantined and tested. Since you're already positive, what happens then? You test positive, and now you're quarantined for the remainder of the cruise? Has anyone had this experience? What are the options?
  2. Been on both. Enjoyed them both, but 8 nights is always better than 7, everything else being equal.
  3. My wife told me today that if this cruise had been our first, it would also be our last. Princess Medallion is a joke. Every other cruise line we've been on , you get your table the first night and go there every night after. Here, you have to stand in a reservation line every night and hope your table is available or do you have a table. People in the no reservation line get in faster. Both nights we had long waits to find out we didn't have an assigned table, even though we did have one. They had to scramble to finally get us a table. The line outside was very long because even people who did have tables still had to wait and show their medallion. We were told that Princess management deemed this was the proper way to run the restaurant even though the Maitre d did not agree. Several elevators were out of order on day 1. Safe's out of order (unable to be fixed and no new ones were available). $100 OBC for that, so you have to hide your money, passports and credit cards, so they won't be stolen One of our 2 tv remotes was missing and then replaced, One of our lamps was missing a light bulb. It's taken us 2 days to be very disillusioned with Princess. Some small problems, but handicapped guests on day 1 had to wait for elevators to be repaired. I think there was a generator problem. I feel the medallion idea in restaurant management should be scrapped. On the good side the pizza on deck 14 was good even though the Sabatini pizza ovens had problems and delayed today's lunch. I don't know if they were repaired as we then went to 14. We just had a medical emergency announcement where a guest has to be taken off, so that may affect our itinerary time tomorrow, but of course the guests health is the first priority.
  4. OP here. Everybody, thank you for the information and thoughts on this topic. Mostly, it hadn't occurred to me on my previous, non Princess cruises. The thought of being positive, as we're boarding and not knowing it, and then being quarantined on board the ship is not good. I would prefer to know in advance. cr8tiv1-Thank you for that very important info on the procedure in San Pedro. We'll be sailing from there on our Panama Canal cruise on May 11th.Do you know what happened to anybody who tested positive at the pier? Does Princess have a nearby hotel for quarantined passengers?
  5. Another question about this port testing: You've checked your luggage at the pier. What happens if you test positive? How would they find your luggage and get it back to you before sailing? Has this happened to anybody?
  6. I know Royal and Celebrity don't need boarding tests after the 2 day antigen tests. Does anyone know if Carnival and NCL require boarding tests? If you need tests at boarding, why bother requiring 2 day prior antigen tests? Panama Canal cruise from LA on May 11th.
  7. From Important Notices under my itinerary: Please be advised that all guests on this voyage are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and meet the following requirements: - have received their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the beginning of the cruise and provide proof of vaccination at terminal check-in - provide acceptable proof of a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within 2 days of embarkation and also be tested at the terminal on a complimentary basis -
  8. Have they told you why the hot tubs are closed? Are they planning to open them? Can anyone on board post each days Princess Patter?
