Not meaning to hijack, but hoping I may be able to get information out to anyone embarking on the Pride when Jimbo returns on Sunday - I just received an email advising that due to some mechanical repairs. You need to arrive 3 hours later than your boarding time. I have a 10:00 - 10:30 slot but that has now been changed to 1:00 - 1:30. I don't always check my emails everyday unless I'm waiting for something - so, just wanted to give anyone following this post a heads up.
The email stated nothing about mechanical repairs, just routine maintenance. Probably holiday decorating and cleaning.

I am a dirty, dirty smoker. I don't even really enjoy it much, honestly. It's the only vice I have left.
That said, if you see me off "enjoying" a cigarette, in one of the designated areas that it's allowed, please keep comments to yourself. If you feel the need to complain, remember that all you're doing is being a jerk. A dirty, dirty jerk. And I'll probably mock you. Like, badly.

Personally, I'm not real crazy about the FTTF program allowing guests to pay a fee to get a lot of the benefits we cruised for.
I purchase it because I like it.

Super happy to take the OBC. We're going to get nice new replacement wedding rings using it.

This is where you lose all credibility. I had one almost every day and each one was moist and delicious. Great fries too! Much better than anything I have ever had at Chic Fil-A. I loved the ship and ready for the Celebration and Jubilee.
If you would like to have fried chicken absolutely ruined for you in the future, I recommend the drive to Disney Springs; Art Smith's Homecomin' has the best fried chicken on the planet. I went in skeptical, waddled out a believer. Also, their cocktails are positively flammable.

Any DJ that just wants to play what they want to play without regard for the audience should be discharged. From a cannon. Into the sun.
That's just awful. Who do they think they are, Deathmouse, or whatever?

By this logic, it is perfectly fine to touch wet paint because you are wearing overalls, and do not think it is possible to wipe paint onto other people/things that other people touch.
I can't put this in crayon, but maybe a fun, colorful font will help.

The biggest and best perk that I receive, and will continue to receive, is the ability to afford a fun cruise without breaking the bank. I don't need any special perks. If I want them, I'll buy them. SMH at the entitlement.

It surely has. Thanks for shopping at Carnival.

So, if OP wants salt water for the kids, they should look for itineraries with many sea days, and then call the company to make sure they'll use actual sea water.
Do you honestly think that a customer service agent sitting in Fort Lauderdale will know the answer to whether the ship will be using free flow ocean water on any given sailing? I do not. I would not harass the CS rep with this kind of thing. LET ME TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR.

Well, a pool at home (which does not have anywhere near the same chlorine level as a ship's pool), that is salt water, generates chlorine from the salt in the water using electricity.
15 hours ago, K_e_short said:Actually the "stinky" smell you are talking about is when the chemicals aren't balanced correctly.
If you can actually SMELL chlorine it means that the person in charge of pool chemicals isn't doing their job properly.
When done properly salt, chlorine, bromine, and/or UV can be effectively used to kill bacteria in pools.
Quoted for truth. Pool guy here. The misinformation is amazing out there in the world.

If the azipod is needing repair, is there any issues with reaching top speed?
It would be great if they could fix that before the repoisitioning journeys cruise.

Correct. All of the above are excluded from the Cheers package. Add to that buckets of beer.
I *still* don't know if, as a Cheers Enabled passenger, I am able to just outright purchase any of those things. I get mixed answers, Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Lots of folks just refer to the website, but I still think it's unclear. Is a fishbowl just forbidden if you have Cheers even if you want to pay money for it? Science may never know. But...I'm going to try it and report back come December.

With the weather settling down, what's your take on the Aft balcony now? We're booked into one on Pride in a few weeks, and I'm getting antsy. For the record, I enjoy it when the ship's a rockin', and if I could pay for the Magic Fingers mattress, I totally would.

As with many things cruise-related, the answer is going to be, "It depends."
In the Tampa cruise terminal, we were allowed to leave our luggage in a secured room outside of customs while we went and visited the aquarium. That wasn't a Carnival service, but it was right after a Carnival cruise.
Worst case, it never hurts to ask, just have a backup plan.

I ordered a #10. She started putting iceberg lettuce and mealy-looking tomatoes on it and I pointed at the menu and said "no, I want #10, with avocados, basil and cucumbers" and she said there are no avocados on the ship. I said what about cucumbers and basil, she said they don't have any.
Could you please order a #9, for science?

You will find plenty of people on this site who prefer to have a relaxing time on their own instead of making small talk with strangers.
Present! The only friend I am interested in making on a cruise is the bartender.

I will never drink 15 alcohol drinks, but expect to make up the deficit with fancy coffee drinks and bottled water.
It's super easy, barely an inconvenience! Our last cruise, we only came near 15 once, but according to my post-cruise, very generous estimates, we probably would have spent double what we did with Cheers. Super duper good stuff coffee adds up.

Has anyone seen anything about Jefferson's Ocean on board? I drove 40 miles to get a taste, and it was worth it. If not, it seems a shame!

Unfortunately, they don't have a common sense screening test. With or without alcohol.
