  1. My wife and I have both the Deluxe Package on Navigator. But what is the best drink package for our 7 year old girl. She does not drink soda and only drinks water, orange juice, and mocktails...and really loves ice cream. What is the best beverage package for her?

When we purchased the Deluxe Package there was not an option to buy simultaneous a package for our daughter, which we found strange...we are MSC cruisers in Europe, and when you buy a drink package at MSC you automatically have to buy a children's drink package with it....

    Please give me suggestions!

Does anyone know how much the ship airport to cruise port transfers are?

    Thank you

If your cruise will still dock at the cruise terminal (lately a lot of cruises will be docking outside the city because of nuisance) then a short train trip to the Cantral Station (then a 10 minute walk/ 2 minute taxi drive) will be the fastes and cheapest way to travel (5-6€) or take a taxi and pay 40-50€ and get ripped off by the notorious taxi maffia of Amsterdam.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed on the 8th floor . There are quite a few bars and the Casino on the 7th floor- so wondering if there is much noise in the cabins?

We've been in 8021 inside and we did not hear a thing! It is quiet, because that room is above the Spa, that is closed in the evening...and deck 8 is very near deck 7 where the Irish Pub is, so for us it is a no-brainer to book this cabin any time we are on a Meraviglia-class ship.

Drop "critic" from this site's address.  But I spot checked ~5 other OTA and they all agree.

I'm going to assume this is yet another case of Royal ITitis where the front end and back end don't talk to each other.

Normally we cruise with MSC in Europe. Those Italians always create chaos with conflicting stories on their website...so when we've decided to give RCCL a try when we were in the US, I thought everything would be much better organised...lol

We will be there April 16 with Navigator, Brilliance, Mariner. We sure won't be buying a water park pass. We were there last year with one medium size ship and the slide lines were crazy long. Can't imagine paying all that money and only getting to go down a slide a few times.

I've bought the waterpark tickets when I thought there were only two ships.....

Don’t forget there’s a whole part of the island that isn’t open yet but will be by then. I didn’t feel it was too crowded at all with Mariner and navigator without the beach club area being open yet. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as you are thinking!

Luckily I already bought tickets for the Beach club area...there it might be not too overcrowded....but for my daughter in the waterpark...well...she has to wait a little longer in line......

I feel for you. The reason why you booked this short getaway cruise was so that your daughter could have the time of her life at Perfect Day at CoCoCay! But now, thanks to whatever reason, your plans were abruptly changed. And not only that, but you are from the Netherlands, which I am sure you spent a pretty penny to fly from. And since your daughter is probably on holiday, it isn't easy to coordinate times to get a good vacation in.

well thanks, it is like that...but it is also a luxery problem...but if I knew that there would be three ships that day, we would've picked another itinerary. It's just a shame that how good you think you've organised it, RCCL can just change the whole experience...but as I said...it is just a luxery problem....

Can 3 ships dock or is one going to have to tender? I think their plan all along was for upping the number of ships and passenger count. In the "old days" before the dock was built how many ships were there at the same time?

I was there with the Celebrity Reflection, on the old island...and even then it felt crowded....this is just nuts....

  9. 30th of April 2020:

    Navigator  3926

    Mariner      4001

    Brilliance   2580

    Together 10507 passengers (full occupancy)

    TOO MUCH!

Time to stay on the ship?

I can't sell that to my 7 year old daughter...it is a shame RCCL does this. This is just terrible....the island has a maximum capacity of 10000 guest accourding to Matt's Earnings article.

  10. At 30 April 2020 Navigator of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, and Brilliance of the Seas are coming to the island of Cococay. This will not be the event that we are looking for. When we've booked our cruise, there was only Brilliance and Navigator in port, and now the island will be overcrowding by three large ships. The changing of itineraries is something I get, but this will be too much! If the prices would drop of all the things to do on the island, but NO the prices are still the same...now it's going to take hours to use the waterslides and so on...

Two ships is already enough...three is TOO MUCH!

You are missing the point. I bet MSc does have epi pens available for purchase in the infirmary. Curls are available for purchase with a hair style. They most certainly have glucose meters, painkillers, etc... and if I’m not mistaken they offer diaper packages as SERVICE for their guests. MSc has admitted distilled wAter is a popular request so why not provide the service? Heck, I’d think that the bean counters would be all over this as a revenue opportunity.

The only acceptable response when a royal suite guests asks, in advance, for a $1 item they need for medical reasons is.. “it would be my pleasure Sir”.

OMG I use CPAP without destilled water...it runs just fine....

  12. In October we will visit the port of Piraeus to go to Athens. My question is, will MSC use shuttle busses (they are normally ridiculous expensive) or is it possible to just walk off the ship to the taxi's etc.? I don't want to spend a lot of money for a shuttle bus, that takes just 5 minutes to drive between the ship and the taxi rank.

  13. We've been on 5 MSC cruise by now...we love MSC, BUT....it is an Italian cruise company, and that means different service! Not the perfect service Americans are use to. The ships are spotless. We've been on the new Seaview (2018) and the old Fantasia (2019), there are ten years between these two ships, but they are both still looking new!

The easy Drink Package is very easy...and cheap...although the prices had gone op since last november. Easy is still allright, but Premium is better...almost all cocktails and specialty drinks are on it...and Premium you can use in specialty restaurants, Easy drink package not.

But for the american cruisers, I urge you not to expect any service! This is normal in Europe, but not for you I guess. Also be aware that on Europe sailings there will be a lot of Italians, French and Spanish people. They have another perspective on being polite. They will cut the queue anywhere they can. So the buffet is always a ratrace....or a jungle.

We are used to it by now, but our last cruise was in the Baltic without southern Europeans and it was a breeze!

The Seaview (and Seaside) look beuatiful, and especially in the Caribbean they will be suited for the weather. There is a lot of deck....and deckchairs....and pools.

I do not know anything on YC. Too much money....

  14. Typically MSC. Great ships, great food, service....mwah....

Just go to the nearest specialty restaurant the first day onboard, and make reservations...We had made reservations beforehand, online...but while onboard, they never found these reservations....

Do not expect logical thrustworthy service of an italian cruise line....but also without al the logic, and service, MSC is still worth your money! And the Meraviglia is the most beautiful ship in the fleet!

I wonder how they got those photos. Webcam?

We visited Disney’s Castaway Cay after a hurricane a few years back - granted nowhere near as powerful as Dorian. They had it cleaned up quickly but many of the trees were damaged and most of the vegetation was browned by the salt water.

Hopefully Royal will be able to support those employees who live on Abaco.

There are a few people on the island I guess...and they also have mobiles?
