Thank you for the support lol. Obviously the people of the Bahamas are priority, I was just wondering what RC would do if their island was destroyed after all that hype.

It will not be destroyed...only damaged...after a few weeks all is good...it was only a storm at Cococay...wind speeds op 8-10 Beaufort. Only the cruises in September will be affected.

    Wow what?

Yes. The fact is... this is a thread on cruising. Not the people of the Bahamas. Specifically, this message board on cruising is about the effects of the cruises because of Hurricane Dorian. No matter what we post, say, or think, will not change the outcome of those effected by Dorian. So please put things into perspective. If you want others to post about the worries of the peeps in the Bahamas, start a new/different thread or better yet, go to another mesage board. But I will as many others will, continue to post about the changes and cancellations of their cruise vaqcations.

touchy touchy LOL I guess you're from the US?! Hahahaha....

    Here's my take...

Newer ships Oasis class ship = Higher prices. Symphony is way out there these days. Not just drinks or drink pkgs either. I'm talking Dining Pkgs, Cabanas etc.  A caban for $1299/day at CocoCay?

You take Adventure, Radiance, Navigator etc... these ships still are offering the $49/$55 per day drink pkg prices. Also cruises that are longer than 7 days. The 9day to 15 day cruises on soem of the smaller ships have decent drink package pricing as well.

Take a look. It's Capitalism at it's finest. Supply & demand. At this rate, CoCoCay will be paid for in a couple of years.

    Caveat...

I buyUltimate drink packages for the wife & I.

We are both Diamond and can drink in the DL for free.

I smuggle my fav on board because they don't have it on the ship. Shoot me.

Drink Package on Navigator = 60,72 € on a 4 nights cruise to the Bahamas....that is 66,70$ ! No way that we will pay that...

I wonder what the chances are of Perfect Day being destroyed in this hurricane? I feel like 185 mph winds and those tall slides dont really bode well together, but maybe this is something RC thought of before building this park?

I am worried that my upcoming cruise in a month will not be visiting CocoCay if it sustains substantial damage

Wow...the people of the Bahamas are in the worst storm...losing their houses and possibily their lives...but you are worried about your perfect day at Cococay? WOW

  5. We have been on both. We were on Divina last year in the Med on a cruise with Italians, French and people from Spain. The ship is beautiful and very good. But the people that were on the ship were loud and sometimes rude.

We were on the Meraviglia this summer in the Baltic. The people that were on it were from Belgium, Holland and Germany. They were quiet. We loved the ship and the beautiful gallery.

So we loved both ships, but it depends on the itineary and the people that were on it.

  6. As we booked the Tryptic Dining Package, it was still Eataly, Sushi and Butcher's Cut. A few months a go they replaced Eataly with a Mexican restaurant Hola!. So I thought this new restaurant would replace Eataly also in the package...unfortunately it didn't. It was replaced by Ocean Cay...that is a fish restaurant and we do not like fish!

Should Guest Relations be so kind to make one change in our package? We really like Mexican food....

  7. When I booked the tryptic offer, I assumed that Eataly would be replaced by Hola, but now I see it would be Ocean Cay...and we don't like fish! Is there any chance MSC would gives us the opportunity to change one specialty restaurant on the tryptic package? We really dislike fish.....

We’re boarding on the 3rd August too - so might see you there!  If the cut off is 120cm I’ll  be the one with identical looking boys, but with one in meltdown about not being able to go on the slides!

What is your nationality? We are from Holland.

If no one comes up with an answer in the meantime, I’ll let you know when we’re on the ship in a few weeks! I’m keeping my fingers crossed my twins can both go on the slides - if it is 120cm it’ll mean my smallest nearly 8 year old might not be allowed on, but a tall 5 - 6 year old could be!

We'll be sailing from Kiel on 3 august to Copenhagen, Helsinki, St.Petersburg, Tallinn. So maybe we get there first?😊

I’m  interested to know the answer to this too, as I’ve also seen 120cm and 42 inches mentioned.  We are on the Meraviglia in 3 weeks and I have identical twin 7 year old boys. They are small for their age - One of them is 122cm but the other is 118.5cm - so if it’s 120cm there are going to be all sorts of arguments!

It is sad that no one seems to know ....For your twins it would be very very sad that one has the required height and the other not...Last April on Fantasia there was only one slow waterslide and our little daredevil of 6 years old, 118cm was not allowed on the waterslide...120cm was the requirement. We asked that she could go with her mother but they did not allow....Later that cruise I saw much younger kids on it ....But she couldn't go....If this happens again I will make a lot of fuss about it....MSC is not known for its logical and strict rules....(nothing Italian is...)

On the Seaview one year earlier she could ho on all the  waterslides so I guess MSC doesn't know what the rules are either.....

  11. What are the current waterslide restrictions? In an old post they mentioned 120cm, but also 42", so a bit confusing to me. Can someone please let me know what the minimum length is to go on the waterslides?

On the Seaview or (then) 5 year old could go on all the slides, but on Fantasia they told her that it was forbidden, although the waterslide on Fantasia was not fast or anything like that. It was kinda dull....

  12. When I go to my cruise planner, and want to buy a Deluxe Beverage Package it is said that only my wife and I can buy the package (because our girl is underage). But do I have to buy another package for her, or leave that be? She can drink with us offcourse, because in the Deluxe there are also non alcoholic beverages....At other cruise lines, the non-alcoholic package is always automatically added to the order.

We could never, ever get a seat in the Sky Lounge (last picture) - always packed to capacity so very grateful we had the TSL to retreat to, with equally great views.

We stopped in the Brass Anchor for a drink - ordering one which cost 10.50 Euro and expecting to be charged - the charge never applied to our account but we had to sign for the drinks. I have the menus if anyone requires them.

I love tot see the menus. We have a premium drink package...I have been keen to know what we can drink in the Pub
