How much information do you get from the driver or do you neef a guide as well? We are doing a 4 hr Barcelona pre- cruise with Sagrada Familia after.
Couldn’t tell from reviews when people said “guide” if they meant driver/ guide.
-
We had an old US car with AC. There were 4 of us, guideand driver
-
Blexie sent us an itinerary and statement of compliance but no one asked for it,
-
We emailed Blexie and got a letter stating compliance back from him. Customized our itinerary. Paid at end.
-
Actually the explanation is not accurate. Can do “support of Cuban people” and perfectly legal.
-
Not an issue here since wll neverbe too far from port.
-
Blexie has other guides . We had Isbel who was great.
-
We had a post cruise in GBR which made up for disappointment.
-
That is incorrect. You can check “ in support of Cuban people.” Blexie tours are more in compliance than ship tours which use govt buses.
-
That is good news. Hope all lines adopt that policy.

On Jan 22 cruise Dunedin closed due to fog and cyclone forecast for Sounds. Returned to Sydney early.
-
We missed the Sounds andDunedin. Still one of our better cruises.
-
It was Support for Cuban people when I went inDec,
-
Yes.
-
We did. If nit for Iceania instructions, would have just checked support for zcuban prople.
-
We had a med evac en toute toDunedin. Our Capt was great at giving updates and explanations. He mer with oassengers to explain
-
We were on the Jan 22 Solstice and missed Dunedin and the fiords.
Disappointed but Still had a great cruise. Didn’t expect compensation.
First time we ever had cancellations. Had been lucky.

6209- no smoke or noise.
-
We used Blexie tours. He and his driver are not govt employess and comply with the new restrictions. Sounds like ship tours do not.
Also, most enjoyable, informative tour.

We were there recently and I thought tendering fine but had priority tendering disembarking. Did a tour which was good but not enough time for treaty grounds or Russell. All good options.
-
So sorry this is still going on. We did a private tour withBlexie inDec even though we booked after the deadline. Oceania suggested we check people to people on the affidavit but we knew we met the requirements for Supporting the Cuban people. So we checked both. No issues after that.
We had had some pressure to do ship excursion in Vietnam and Russia but did orivate tours with no problems. A shame that people without access to info are being given lmited options. We loved our customized private tour.
-
We had a good experience with Oceania also although I found their info handout incomplete. They may have updated since Dec. We had booked a private tour with Blexie and were concerned that the ship staff
might not understand the new regs.
There has been understandable concern since different cruise lines have
different policies and people were being told different things even on the same ship.
Cuba is great and hope everyone is able to have as good experience as we did.
