I couldn't agree more about Celebrity's contempt for the consumer. Why else would they raise their fares so much and take so much more?

Because they are being run by hachet men (& women) and accountants. No regard for marketing. The worm will turn (again). Anyone remember fuel surcharges?

Ah, I see now.  Yes, there's no getting that non-refundable deposit back.  You can change the ship and sail date if you pay a $100 change fee, but there's no going from non-refundable to refundable.  Otherwise, everyone looking to cancel a non-refundable booking would just then change to refundable and then cancel.

    Thanks!

Short answer is yes you can. Your deposit will be refunded. You will lose any offers you have and your new booking will reflect the current offers at time of booking. I can't speak to the insurance question.

    So essentially cancel& rebook?

  5. Can I book a refundable fare(say a year ahead) and later change to a non-refundable when my plans firmup(prior to final pay)?

How does having cruise line insurance affect this?

With all the different fares-hard to know what to do?

    Thanks,in advance!

You will notice that Celebrity’s new advertising now includes two obvious options for cabin choice. “Cruise-Only” or “All-Included” may be selected for cabin categories Inside, Ocean View, Verandah and Concierge. If choosing Aqua Class, you will automatically get the All-Included option of drinks, tips and WIFI. Why would Aqua Class cruisers not have a choice?

It seems that X has listened to cruisers who did not appreciate being charged for something they did not use. There were certainly plenty of threads criticizing the automatic “Always Included” and that is totally understandable.

This is quite a significant change to Celebrity’s promotions. Is it a notable step in the right direction to customer satisfaction?

A return to sanity? 2nd go round for me.When AI didn't work b4, Azamara was created.
