Can I book a refundable fare(say a year ahead) and later change to a non-refundable when my plans firmup(prior to final pay)? How does having cruise line insurance affect this? With all the different fares-hard to know what to do? Thanks,in advance!

Rebooking involves extra $900 pp not economically feasible for us. They can sell the cabin that i'm trading from for the same revenue as the 1 I want to go to. So no skin off their back,except violate rule.
