Are these the same as "clam shells" on Labadee? Last year they were first come, first serve (free), is that changing?
I don't know ... this is on CocoCay.
-
I didn't read your first post closely, I thought the price used to be $50 for two people. I'm afraid to see the cabana prices.
My fault!! It's $50 for two!! :D
-
Thanks, first time I've seen the Coco Cay cabinettes available pre-cruise. Maybe they will also start offering the cabanas pre-cruise.
I was excited to see it available! We booked it. $50 for two of us, worth it to us, it's our first cruise. :p

If you are interested, the cabanettes on cococay are now available to purchase online for my dates, 11/29, and earlier. Not sure about later. Before you had to purchase when you boarded.
It's called Beach Lounger, is $50 per person and includes:
Bottled water
Two floating mats
Clamshell lounger for two
Quiet side of island
Towels
Fruit platter
Personal attendant
Transportation to lunch and tender
May not be worth to some but may be worth to others! :D

Just an FYI, these are now available for purchase on the RC website for my sail date of 11/29 and earlier. The are under the title beach loungers!
Reserved ours today!:D

You got it! Have a great cruise. You sound excited. ;):p
We are! :D
-
We sail on 11/29 and I don't have option for luggage tags either. I was assuming it would be there when my cruise documentation is issued? I already printed our set sail pass.

Cruise Compass, which is delivered each evening for the following day, usually gives very specific information. Ships tend to stay on "ship's time." There is also a reminder when you leave the ship telling you what time to be back on board.
Be careful not to use a cell phone as your "watch." Cell phones will adjust to where you are in the world. Always a good idea to wear a watch.
Thanks, will definitely wear a watch, will bring two in fact! :D

It is not dumb at all - glad you asked. If you mean outside of Daylight Saving Time and just regular time zone changes, per sé, the Eastern Caribbean route is all one time zone. You will not change your clocks at all on this sailing. Having said that, most of the islands do not recognize DST so depending on where you are going, you will probably be behind EST by one hour. HOWEVER - stay on ship's time. This means whatever the Captain says goes. DO NOT change your watch and beware your cell phone in ports. Stay on the time that is on the ship's clocks.
Hope this helps. :)
Thanks! So leaving Chicago and going to Florida, we need to move our watches ahead one hour. DST will have occurred before we sail.....um......:D....my best bet will be to get on board, note the ship time and set my watch accordingly. And I won't have to change it until back at Port Canaveral? And just ignore time on my cell. :p
-
I'm sure a dumb question, but do you get some kind of notification if the time changes at the different ports? We are on eastern caribbean route. :)

We will be at Residence Inn a day and a half before our cruise and we thought of maybe trying an airboat ride? Any recommendations and transportation suggestions?
:D
-
We are booked in November/December as well
We booked the same one, see you there!! :D

Ugh, if I'm reading correctly, there will be 7 ships in St. Thomas with us on 12/2:eek:
Another site says 4.... guess I'll find out soon enough!

Seems like you are more focused on day time stuff; the compass will have the night shows like quest, battle of sexes, love and marriage show (usually the highlight of most cruises for laughs)To answer you it depends on what you like. There may be things like music or movie trivia held in a bar, food cooking or carving demonstration, different sports tournaments, wine or martini tastings, bingo or casino tournaments.
Yes, day activities. We eat dinner at 7:30 and then just plan to check out different bars at night until we find our favorite. I'm thinking will be a piano bar...but I would also love to play the trivia games at night too!
But yes, the day is what I'm wondering about. Thanks for the suggestions!
-
So we decided outside of excursions and dinner, we weren't going to plan anything, just go with the flow. But.....:D
Are there any activities on sea days besides pool, napping and drinking :p that you would suggest we check out? This is our first cruise. Freedom of The Seas with 3 sea days.
I know what a cruise compass is, but I'd love some personal opinions.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Our first cruise, but we are choosing to do the specialty restaurants on the two formal nights. Paid for with our obc. :D
-
You stated the movement was NOTHING compared to Freedom, which makes me a bit nervous. :p how bad is movement on the Freedom?

As you are in Marriott's loyalty program I would stay at the Residence Inn. I have stayed there before and parked my car there during the cruise. It is a nice hotel and the included breakfast is a plus and it was good. Taxi's are plentiful at the terminal and the fare to the Residence Inn would be about $6.
Unless the nightly rate at the Residence Inn was ridiculously expensive that's where I would stay!
Great to read! We are staying there 2 nights the weekend of Thanksgiving, before we leave on Freedom on the Sunday. Hoping it's a nice way to start our vacation.
I also read the Space coast art festival is happening that weekend at Port Canaveral, could be fun. :D

Thanks again!
Maybe the line won't be too long when we board and we can get the cabanette! I will hope for the best and expect the worst. :D
-
Thanks! Is the the deck we board the ship on? Sorry for dumb question :p
-
We want to book a cabanette for Coco Cay and I've read we can only book on board and priority goes to suite guests. We aren't suite guests but I still hope to have a fighting chance! :D
We plan to be at port about 10:45...where do we go once on ship to book excursions? Any quick tips?:p

How much is your insurance?
Ours was only $110 for a comprehensive plan through Nationwide. Little money for peace of mind, in my opinion at least. :)
-
You may order whatever you wish from the bar server. They will happily serve you an after-dinner liqueur or whatever you desire. :)
:D I'm so excited!!!! :p
-
Thanks! I will have to figure out who is my bar server. :p
Do they do "dessert" cocktails for after dinner? I would rather get a Brandy Alexander or something similar than have a piece of cake!

One reservation gets you two mats, two waters , one clamshell, that's what I was told on phone...
