  1. Yes, I am a patron.

They are big Disney fans and are very excited about their 1st Disney Cruise. I didn't found the amount of coverage about the ears to be "infomercial type" as it was a small portion of each 20-40 minute video.

Sea Cruisers remains by top cruise vlog channel by far. No one else is even close on the amount or frequency of the content.

I think people have their monetization concepts all screwed up. So it was OK for Charlie Sheen to make 1.8 for each 20 minute episode of Two and Half Men but someone produces 25 hours of cruise material and they shouldn't get a dime? Do people even fathom the amount of time and effort it takes to produce, edit, and distribute hundreds of hours of high quality video?

One of the reasons the reasons they get to cruise so much is:

    1. They are Florida residents and can drive to all the ports

    2. One of them is a travel agent

    3. They book insides

    4. Most of their cruises are not 7 day cruises - The ones that are were priced cheap - Example: Their Fathom cruise was $199-$249 per person for 7 days. They take more 3-5 days cruises

    5. They can go last minute

    6. They find unsold inventory on theme/group cruises

So in a nutshell: they go on a lot of last minute, short, cheap cruises.

I know this may sound a bit defensive but it just gets me going when people bring up the whole patron thing about them. Do you realize that Matt Hochberg from the RCCL Blog is pulling down over $1700 a month on Patreon and he only does a blog and a weekly audio podcast? (a whole lot less content than what Sea Cruisers puts out)

Why aren't people supposed to get any money for their work? :)

BTW...They are not travel agents. In Florida you have to be licensed. Just saying!

  2. I was looking at our cruise for June 2018. Princess has removed Dominican Republic-Amber Cove port from the itinerary. We were looking forward to visiting this port. They put a sea day in its place. Do you think there is a liking hood Princess will add it back in? Or does anyone know why Princess is no longer calling on Amber Cove Dominican Republic?

My 2018 cruise has Amber Cove listed.

  3. This is from the Uber website about tipping:

No, tipping is voluntary. If you do decide to tip, you can do so right within the app in select countries. To ensure a smooth, uninterrupted ride, you can tip drivers after your trip at a time when it’s convenient for you. Learn the details and find out if tipping is available in your city on our tipping page. Keep in mind that tipping with uberTAXI, where available, is handled differently. uberTAXI connects riders with licensed yellow cabs, and includes the option to set a gratuity percentage added to your trip fare.

    • How do I tip my driver?
The easiest way to tip your driver is through the app. At the end of your trip, you’ll be prompted to rate your driver. Once you provide a rating, you’ll be given the option to add a tip. You are free to tip and drivers are free to accept tips at any time. Giving cash directly to your driver is always an option.
Where available, you may also tip through the app, on riders.uber.com, and from your emailed trip receipt.

  4. We picked up our luggage, used the Uber app to get a ride, waited 5 minutes outside (we asked someone working outside at the terminal where Uber picks up) and the car arrived. The app told us the driver's name, the type and color of the car, and the license plate number. Very easy. Remember there is no need to tip. If you do want to tip the app will give you a notification and offer you that option after the ride is finished. One Uber ride the notice said that the driver had not turned on the option for tipping. Other times the option was available.

The Uber drivers expect a tip. Look at your own rating after each Uber ride. Go to the site uberpeople.net. Interesting reading!

  5. We just had the UBD on the Grand and it was very nice. Unfortunately it rained so we just did it in our room. The food was great and they will accommodate your food preferences. It included a predinner cocktail of your choice, as well as a split of champagne. The table was set up beautifully, with a gorgeous floral arrangement, that you get to keep. They also do photos and give you one complementary. The food was really good too. Really special experience.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Ours started out as very romantic. The waiter arrives with a tux and roses. Puts the table clothes out and first off I spill the water goblet over the table. My steak was almost moving. So next time we will just pass.

  6. The airlines have digital boarding passes for domestic flights only.

A cruise consists of international travel to multiple destinations. (Not to mention room and board).

So you really think it is OK to admit passengers onboard with no verification beyond a scan of a QR-code at a kiosk?

I’m saying I hate using my printer. Would like to just show them my phone.

  7. If a bathtub and two TV’s are not priorities, is it worth it to upgrade from a deluxe to a mini for $187 per person? There are three of us in the cabin.

We don’t tend to spend much time in our cabin. Just received an upsell offer via my travel agent for our New Year’s cruise and wondering if this would be worth the extra $$. Hoping for some feedback from those who have been in both. Thank you.

Maybe it’s just me but..we had BETTER service from our room steward in the mini.
