The newest promo is more of the same, they just extended it until March 31, 2016.

I have booked 3 gty cabins for this sailing and they were both assigned by the next day,:) if not the same day. They were all different categories. If you just booked it keep looking, you will see it soon!

I will probably use the in room coffee maker for tea or hot chocolate when I'm not ready to leave the room, thanks for the info!

Love the pillow wall...we have actually done that before, lol....won't need it this cruise tho, I switched back to a balcony room with the pulldown bed, my 8 yr. old was so looking forward to being in the top bunk!

Can anyone tell me what kind of coffee makers/coffee are in the mini suites on the Gem? I also wondered if there was room for a pullout type bed since my kids don't love the idea of sharing. (if not, tough, lol!) Thanks!!!

I agree with you Gikkeroo, I would love it if this ship sailed light! How old are your kids? Mine are 8 and 10 and will be using the kids club as well. We lucked out on this sailing, it is our spring break here in Ocean county, NJ, so they are only missing 2.5 days of school!

I can't believe the prices haven't even budged on the Gem sailing on 3/22....NCL must be expecting big things!! I did speak to an NCL rep and she told me that lots of college kids wait til the last minute and book....time will tell, I really need to upgrade to either a balcony or a mini suite... :D

This will be our first Norwegian sailing and just wondering if anyone here had any experience sailing on the 10 day during Easter? I've been looking for a price change so that I can upgrade from an OV to a balcony and it seems to be at a stand still and there are still a good amount of cabins available. Has anyone had any good luck with getting a deal during this week? I know it's supposed to be a busy one, it just seems weird that it's not full yet. Maybe because its a 10 day vs. a 7 day? Thanks!

I called NCL about a room that I had booked with one promo and 2 days later a new promo came out that would have given me 2 promos. I was told that I would have had to have called less than 24 hrs. from the original booking to get the additional promo. I double checked this with a high up sales rep for NCL and she told me that unfortunately there was nothing that she could do since the timing was bad. Regardless of what perks you get, I'm sure you will have a great time!!!

I will be getting one of my kids virgin cocktails on my UBP. Almost everyone does this.

This post cracks me up! I plan on getting virgin drinks at one bar for my kids, sending them away and then going to another bar to get a real drink for myself and my husband. Is that OK? Please don't flame me!! :o The prices will keep going up no matter what we do!

Cruisingforfun72, give that cruise a couple of days....they most likely will have upsells available.

You can call NCL, but they will probably tell you to call your TA so they don't get into trouble. I did that the other day and that is what they told me (and i'm an at home TA, lol) Or you can keep calling the upsell #...it's worth a shot and you'll probably get a better deal if there are any cabins available. Have you checked on the NCL site for availability?

My kids first cruise was in a Carnival OV room....they loved it! She was 3 and he was 6, they had a top bunk and a lower bed, we had a queen. They are now 8 and 10 and we have an OV on the Gem. I'm considering upgrading to a balcony or mini suite for extra room because they are much bigger now. Unless you can afford it, I think you'll be perfectly fine with the smaller room. Good luck!

NCL does have a cell phone app that you can use to call/text with...they charge est. $7.95 for a week per phone. 6 sounds young but, you never know....kids these days know how to use electronics better than most adults! So, if you have a tech savvy 6 yr old, I would do that.

Has anyone called the upsell line recently? I just called and after holding for 15 minutes, I was disconnected. Tried back, let it ring for 50 mins., disconnected again! Is this normal?

I am an at home TA, and yes you can request bed set up preferences beforehand. You can request them to be pushed together, you can request extra pillows, bed rails, etc. Call your TA or just call Norwegian and have them note it on your reservation.:)
