there certainly is a new crowd and many of them are from land based vacations /resorts

I am not so sure that those same land customer spending $1k/night (or more) would be thrilled with the wine/spirit selection with the PDP   They may have eaten in some better restaurants along the way that offer a good selection of booze. Dropping $200/day (as a duel occupancy room) and drinking the included Mouton cadet red blend isnt a plus in Luminae.

If they are the 1,000+ a night people there are two likely options. They are used to paying that price with nothing included so an extra up charge here and there is negligible. Or if they are All Inclusive people who are accustomed to the trash liquor and sparse house wine that you typically find on those properties anything is an improvement. Cruiselines, not just Celebrity, are capitalizing on that and charging accordingly.

I have a question if anyone can answer…. I have Verizon as a Cell phone provider and when I enable WiFi calling on my iPhone a window appears to enter an address for 911 emergency services and then to change the address if switching locations….. Not sure what to do seeing as we are out to sea? Does anyone else see this prompt? Thanks

That's the physical location that gets passed to 911 if you had an emergency. Typically that would be your home address. If this is your first time setting up WiFi calling you will run into some issues since the initial setup needs access to the Verizon network.

    More likely the suite price!

I nor anyone here knows what the target sold rate is at final payment, but if there are 21 cabins open that means 91% of suite inventory is booked at standard going rates without MoveUps being awarded yet. The base price for suites for that sailing appear to be in the $4,800/pp range. Prices trailed off slightly starting in May dipping below $7,000/pp. Upper level suites except 2 EV's are sold out. I don't think those numbers would create a strong case that prices scared people away. There is a base population of 1,448 other non-suite cabins also currently sold out that can bid on the remaining 21 suite cabins. That little bit of open suite space will take no time to fill.

  4. It’s listed as Shine The Night Party in the Cruise Planner. It’s been on their social media. A different take on a white party. It’s day 4 on the cruise that departs today.

    New Signature Resort Deck Party

New for Celebrity Ascent is a high-octane nightlife experience where the ship’s Resort Deck transforms into a radiant center stage with high-energy live performances, a prism light show, and DJ creating a pulsating dance floor to an illuminating playlist.  Called Ascent After Dark: Shine the Night, guests are invited to bring out their best metallic attire to enjoy this open-air celebration under the moon and stars

  5. The comments for this topic get hugely overblown. But they can very much connect to Cellular at Sea which is when you'll incur a hefty bill. Turning on airplane mode and using WiFi will prevent that.

We have another cruise next month  and at final payment

there were about 35 SS open, that increased and currently they are filled via move up.   So suites are sailing full but it seems that it is taking Move Up to fill them - so maybe some passengers are deciding that the price is to high and waiting for Move Up to pay a more realistic price.

It seems MoveUp is a significant driver behind today's suite prices. It's put them in an ideal place. Those who are willing to pay $1,200+ a night for a Sky Suite are welcomed to it, the leftover cabins are open for MoveUps generating on average an extra of at least $2,000 in revenue for a single move from non-Retreat to Retreat. The other sub sequential moves that are triggered bring in even more revenue, they don't have to provide premium drinks or premium Wifi for the winning bids, they don't have to pay travel agencies commission on the inflated cruise fare and up until recently they didn't have to kick in the $600+ in obc.

I don't pay that much attention but how many cruises today go out with any open Retreat cabins?

I upgraded my husband's classic AI drinks package to Premium alcohol in November this year.  It still doesn't show the upgrade in Cruise Planner Order.  One to two weeks after making the upgrade with the reservations team in November I contacted Celebrity to let them know I couldn't see it in my cruise planner order (though everything else I booked or upgraded was present there).  The rep kindly sent me an email with my order history and verified that they could see it from their end even if I couldn't.  I printed a copy of the order history emailed to me to take with me just in case, especially as I still can't see it in my online history.

You need to log into his account to see it. His drink package will not show under your order history.

Sometimes Large travel agencies book a block of rooms and create a group for their customers. If you can get into such a block you can possibly save some money.  It has happened to us twice and we never met or interacted in any way with other members of the group.

but i am curious, Parrja, what kind of warning you saw that was related to a group?

A lot of agencies use the same booking software that shows a notice like this. There will be several rates shown and some that say Group XXXXXX. They aren't all the same. The agent I use always suggests emailing so he can put together the best deal often at slightly lower price than the website shows. Many people here will say TA obc isn't available to use pre-cruise which I find not be the case when I book this way too. The agency also does not have specific cabins held exclusively for them. You choose from any open cabin in the category.

I'd just take a dated print out/screenshot or just show the waiter the website at the time you order - I suspect they couldn't/wouldn't argue the point if it's in stock and clearly shown as included on a current document.

To play honestly you also need to include this part in your screenshot:

Specific beverage offerings are subject to availability and change.

  10. I imagine your purchase will get cancelled. If you googled Celebrity Pass previously you could get to a document from RCG/Celebrity that said it was supposed to go on sale fleet wide 12/1. Equinox (?) was on sale for a few weeks prior to that as a test. Now that is gone, the link is blank and it no longer appears in the cruise planner. Seems like they may have reversed course on offering it.

The app is incomplete and often incorrect and sometimes downright wrong. Please do not depend on it being a reliable source of information about your purchases

It’s really not that bad. User error? The app has never displayed what OP is searching for. Use the app onboard and Cruise Planner to make purchase. Pretty easy.

No  the retreat already had a retreat concierge team  so no they didn't replace anything  They last time I checked Bait and switch is illegal.

Check once again. That is not Bait and Switch. Your counsel can explain (at their hourly rate - of course). I’m not sure what law would require someone with the job title of butler to deliver your coffee rather than someone with job title of room service attendant but best of luck on the case.

But the warning is clearly aimed at US citizens, as evidenced by the website they referred to.

But if you read the actual piece in full........

    Important details and advisements

    • Guests must be able to negotiate the steps to enter and exit the tour transportation.
    • This tour takes place in a foreign country where laws, regulations and business practices may vary from your home country. This could include significant differences in transportation mode and quality, infrastructure, regulations, and driving practices. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the associated risks and travel warning at travel.state.gov, gov.uk/government/organisations/foreign-commonwealth-development-office, or your country equivalent travel advisory system, and consider when selecting or participating in any tour.

Personally, if I wanted to go to Coco Cay, I would sail RCCL.  In my mind Celebrity adding that entertainment location is about as welcome as Celebrity's next ship being a duplicate of the Icon of the Seas.  This means to me that Celebrity no wants to appeal to cruisers in my age group (70+).

That's dramatic. There are 604 Caribbean cruises between today and the end of the 2026 cruises that are currently out. 70 out of them go to CocoCay - 11.5%. 46 of those 70 are 6 night or shorter cruises. You still have 162 Caribbean cruises 8 days or longer and 534 cruise choices that do not visit that stop.

Also absent from the schedule so far are any 2026 cruises that call on Coco Cay.

    How about this:

    Celebrity Ascent, transatlantic,

    Oct 31, 2025.
    13 nights,

Sky Suite = $12,458 for two

Celebrity Suite = $25,511 for two

    Oceania Vista,

    14 night transatlantic

    Nov 19,2025

    PH2 = $9,180 for two

I’ll let you decide if the PH2 is more comparable to a CS than an SS. Given the size of the cabin and the removal of individual butlers from the SS, I would say it’s more comparable

    to a CS.

Both ships are currently the newest for each line, and each line has another similar ship debuting in 2025.

Neither one includes gratuities, Oceania includes all specialty dining. Celebrity includes premium drink package. Add another $750 or so to the Oceania price to make it comparable.

So, $25,511 is a lot more than $9,930. And it’s one day longer.

    There are many more examples.

Personally would consider the PH much more similar to Sky Suite than Celebrity Suite based on cabin size and layout i.e. no separate sleeping area, sq/ft is nearly the same and so on. The price I'm seeing is on the PH is $10,980 plus your quoted $750 versus $12,583 for the Sky Suite for a difference of $853. I realize the CS creates a more shocking disparity in price for your purpose but these comparisons always seem to take some logical cartwheels. I'm not sure how Oceania handles OBC but I would be confident ins getting $1,200+ in OBC on the Celebrity booking as well.

All perception.   I booked a 10 day cruise in June 2022 on an E-class for March 2024.  I paid about $2900pp in a Sunset Veranda prem. bev. prem. wifi and $800 obc.

My parents booked the same cruise about a month ago, IV cabin base fare $2250pp w/o grats.  they bought the prem. bev during a sale for $600pp w/grats.  They will not use wifi so they are not spending the money on it.   We both feel like we got a decent deal, but did we really??

At the end of day we both feel like we got a "good" deal and that is all that matters.

    Can't wait for March!!!

People have this odd need to justify and complain about it. It's ultimately a frivolous expense. Maybe they are still disillusion from the low prices after COVID. We had an SV on Edge, prem drinks, prem wifi, tips, plus $380 in OBC for a total of $2896 booked for February 2022. With the current travel demand among other things I have zero expectation of getting a price comparable to that ever again in the future.

I'm still waiting to find that comparable cabin and itinerary on a lux line that is significantly cheaper than Celebrity that I read about so often, but so far I'm consistently seeing those numbers anything from 30% to 100% higher than my Celebrity price. Maybe I'm blind.

We saw deck chairs there on the Ascent when we visited the spa.

Unless this is a new thing and they are pulling out chairs daily...I've never seen seating in this area on E Class ships. None of these new videos show seating either. By the one lady's dress blowing you can see how windy it is even when the ship is in port.

I take that back!  The deck plans don't show an open deck but I remember one from sail away.  And if I look at pictures there is something there.

During sail away we were in the retreat and asked if we could go down there.  They said no.  But there were people there so I'm not sure who has access to that.  It's above the Iconic Suite cabin and not part of their balcony.

    Can someone else answer?

On E class the open space forward is accessed from the spa. The gym is a deck above the spa and has no open deck in front. S class ships have the outdoor deck in front of the gym.

    Edge/Apex would be

    16 - Retreat Sundeck

    15 - Fitness Center

    14 - Spa

    12 - Iconic Suites

    Beyond/Ascent

    17 - Retreat Sundeck

    16 - Luminae

    15 - Fitness Center

    14 - Spa

    12 - Iconic Suites
