Can anyone who recently disembarked in Copenhagen say which would be better: arranging a private transfer from the ship to the airport or taking the Princess transfer. Our flight to London is at 2 PM. What are your experiences?
Thank you.

Can anyone recommend a private car service to take us from the ship to the airport in Copenhagen, after disembarkation?
Thank you.

OP Here - Just to clarify, we are looking for a place to read, not for books. We have tons of books on kindles/iPads. My husband also writes, so looks for a place to sit and write on his laptop. We will have a lot of sea days on our next TA, so this is important to us. Thanks for your replies.

I thought I posted this yesterday but can't find it. Forgive me if I posted twice.
Does the Regal library have comfy chairs and is the library large enough to sit in and read? It looks very small on the deck plan. If not, is there a quiet area on the ship where one can read (other than our cabin :) ).
Thank you.

I have read, and saw on the deck plans, that the "library" on the Regal is tiny. Is there a quiet place to read on the ship? Thank you.

OP here again. Just thought I'd let you know how this ended. We were able to substitute another friend for the one who can't go. She had to pay a $50 name change fee.
-
sorry to hear of your situation...
it will depend on the rate you booked.
1) it depends. early saver is typically 'no name changes' - but SOMETIMES they have allowed it for the $50 name change fee. by standard, no go.
2) again it depends. if early saver AND they enforce the change fee, yes. so they lose the money as it's in penalty, and the other person has to pay the single supplement. in that case, it's best they be a no-show.
please post the rate you booked for more concise feedback as terms do vary.
i hope it works out for you regardless :)
OP here.
We didn't have the Early Saver rate. It was $359 for an inside cabin for the 5 day cruise to the Bahamas.

Four of us were supposed to get on the Fantasy this Friday (in 3 days). We reserved 2 cabins, 2 people in each. One friend has to cancel because of a death in her family. We all have trip insurance.
1) Will Carnival allow another person to take the place of the person who can't go?
2) If the three of us go, will the person who can't go's cabin-mate have to pay a single supplement, or can she stay in the cabin on her own?
Thank you.

Do they have herbal tea on the Fantasy?
Thank you.

My friend/cruise cabin-mate will have recently had knee surgery when we cruise out of Charleston in October. Will she be able to avoid standing in line to check-in/board the ship? If so, what does she need to do so people don't think she's cutting in line?
Thank you. Alice

Does the Carnival Fantasy have mah jongg sets for passengers to use?
Thank you. Alice

We will be disembarking the Regal Princess in Copenhagen and flying to London. What is the earliest comfortable time for the flight to London. I assume 10:50 AM is too early to not have to stress about making the flight . Is that correct? Do you suggest taking the Princess transportation to the airport or are we better off taking a cab? Our cruise is in April 2015.

I've never used EZ Air. Will I still be able to go to the airline's website to view the reservation, change seats and check in online. Will we be able to earn the airline's FF miles (if we belong to the program)?
Thank you.

We are thinking of taking our first Oceania cruise. I read that soft drinks are complimentary. What type of soft drinks are available and where do you get them? Buffet? Steward? Bars? Are they in cans or fountain drinks?
Thank you.

We are considering the Ocean Princess in June 2015. I see that it only has one dining room. Are there tables for 2 in the dining room?
Am I correct that there is no International Cafe?
Thank you.

We will be doing a b2b with turnaround day in Southampton. Will the self service laundries be available on that day? Thank you.

Has anyone done the cruise excursion where you take the train up and walk partway down and then board the train for the last 15 minutes of the trip? If so, do you recommend that over doing the complete round trip on the train? Thank you.

OP here. Thanks for your replies. I just found a post I started last year that had lots of good information on the same topic. (Originally had trouble finding the original post due to lack of search function )

We will be taking our first international cruise while on Medicare. I know we need additional health insurance, as our medicare supplement will only cover emergency care outside the US. Can anyone recommend a company for this type of health insurance. I'm not referring to evacuation insurance (although we need that also). I'm referring to health insurance.
Thank you.

Lars - Do you have any suggestions for a day in Trondheim?
Also, regarding Flam, all I read about is the train. Is there an opportunity to see beautiful scenery without taking the train ride?
Thank you.

I have been exploring independent tours for our British Isles cruise. It has surprised me that many want money up front. That is not something I have encountered elsewhere when setting up an independent tour. It is somewhat unsettling, not that I don't trust the tour operators-they all have great reviews, but as we know anything can happen. Ports skipped or routes re-routed. Any thoughts? Have others encountered the same-pay up front?
I am also encountering this. Two of the tours I plan to book want a deposit; one of 25 pounds and one of 50 pounds. One tour I considered wanted everything up-front, so I eliminated them from my list. I have never paid up front or a deposit before. Our trip is 4 months away and things can happen.....However, I figure that if we have to cancel I will go back to the tour companies and explain why we cancelled and hopefully they will be understanding. If not, we will just be out the deposits.

I agree with what everyone said. At dinner there is always the option of salmon or chicken breast and mixed vegetables on the "always available" side of the menu. I always ask for a salad of just lettuce and tomato so I don't have to contend with the extra things that are in a lot of salads. You will do fine!
Birthday in Oslo
in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
Posted
We will be on a Baltic cruise and my husband's birthday is the day we will be in Oslo. Is there are special way to celebrate birthdays in Oslo? (We don't drink.)
Thank you.
