  1. Realistically 99% of all the cabins are fine. Size won't be noticeably different between any cabins non-suite. There is a remote chance an inside cabin may be in a bad location for a number of reasons, but all in all you should be fine.

Carry the attitude you have that the cabin will be fine and you won't be spending time in it except to sleep and change. If you do you will enjoy the cruise for sure and remmber, you are on a cruise and probably most of your friends at home aren't.

  2. Have to admit we gave ChoiceAir every chance to get our business and reservations, but they have failed miserably. For many days now their website continues to show many flight options for an upcoming cruise, yet each time we try to book the same we are presented an error. The least of the issue is to try another option everything entered has to be re-entered. The most important issue is the failure of the website to provide the options show at the prices stated.

We have read other reviews of failures to honor rates shown and when calling in, the agent offers another option at a higher fare. That also happened to us yesterday.

We finally were driven to book our flights direct with the airline we were trying to get through ChoiceAir. They showed the same flights, so it was truly a website issue and a deceptive view they could sell the same flights at a lower rate.

For us it is not ChoiceAir it is CheesyAir.

  3. It was 1980 for us. We were looking for a weeks vacation option that was reasonable in price and all inclusive. Comparing cruising to land based clubs was cheaper. We booked a guarantee inside rate and are assigned a great large room. The ship was old by comparison to the ships of today, but we had a blast with fellow passengers, the shows, and more. The ship was so small, 25,000 GT that the passenger total had to be small in the low hundreds. We never knew to check that back then.

We had every single meal at the same dining room table with the exact same other two couples. Same waiters and other staff. They knew every like and dislike and waited on you hand and foot. The shows were very intimate sitting only several feet from the performers. Needless to say we got hooked and immediately booked on the new Carnival ship the Tropical coming out the next year. From then on we were hooked on crushing and still are today.

  4. What you show was there already with the update. There was a very say to miss link offering a Change Cabin or Location. When you clicked it it did show some alternative selections for that same major group of Inside or Oceanview. Like others have said though, the past ability to alter to a specific Category is gone and it's very frustrating for seasoned cruisers who know what categories are better than others.

I doubt RCCL will make any updates to this garbage for some time which is unfortunate. Us repeat cruisers are savvy enough though to find work around a by using other sites that still show room availability by Category, find the room you like and then use the crappy RCCL site to find that specific cabin to price it.

  5. I agree with all of the replies and say don't fret it and enjoy. As stated the Radiance is a great ship having sailed on her and many of the other RCCL ships. Cruising is a wonderful adventure and who knows you may get hooked as many of us on here will attest. We just recently booked th Radiance for 2017 to take her completely around Australia. It was our most recent addition to our list of future cruises and it was another "bucket list" item.

All of your concerns will melt away as soon as you walk on board, see the other people enjoying themselves and you meet a ton of new friends.

  6. Recently off the Navigator last few weeks. We signed up for one device unlimited internet and we are pleased with performance. I work with Internet at home and I am aware of what decent wifi speed is. The ship is by far not the same, but it is acceptable. You will notice faster speeds in the morning and late venting which is logical as more people are using it during the day.

    Other points:

    1. You will find spots on the ship with faster performance such as around Guest Services and some bars.

    2. Surprised that we were even able to connect while in our inside cabin at times. Not better performance there, but we connected.

    3. Performance of course not great for streaming services like Video Chats or streaming movies for sure, but basic browsing of websites, emails and such are OK.

  7. It would appear all of the irregularities and issues are related to new designs RCCL recently implemented on the site. Looks like these are additions to earlier design changes and now impact the selection of a cruise and booking process. The flow and options are all different. They now combine all various categories under major types of Interior, Oceanview, Balcony, etc. they make a best selection for you regardless of a specific category you may want. Changing to a different category is not allowed as best we can see.

The changes have impacted performance on many browsers. For me the pictures don't load for my iPad on Safari. I have tried other iPad browsers and all the same.

What surprises me more is that I don't see the same outrage that was seen when the previous changes to the website were made.

  8. The site may or may not be down, but with recent changes they made to the site, bookings cruise or doing a simple price check is horrendous. Where you could switch between the various categories when booking, now it is very limited. Maybe the new design has some things we did not immediately see, but to do a price check you are required to complete passenger info. This is added steps. The room availability to switch rooms was limiting and many options selected like declining insurance cause the page to completely refresh and repositions at the top of the page.

Overall a very clumsy update and design.

  9. We have done a few B2B cruises and enjoyed everyone with some in the same room and others not. The procedures for debarkation and embarkation vary ship to ship, but all are done very good with no hassles. The best part of every back to back cruise is the night before the cruise ends and you can walk up and down the hallways seeing all the luggage outside the rooms and knowing your still going to be cruising the next several days. Enjoy.

  10. RCCL Legend of the Seas leaves Ensenada Mexico, south of San Diego, CA on 5/14/15 for ten day cruise to Hawaii and around the islands. 5 Sea Day preceded the stops at Hilo, Kona, Maui, and Kauai.

We prefer Sea Days at start and finish of a cruise. In this case, all a sea Days are at the start, but we are taking a B2B cruise and will go another 17 days following this one down to Sydney.

  12. Do you know if transfer is available form the airport?

We are also on the Legend out of Ensenada with Becci. The Transfers provided include one from the Airport as well. Buses will depart every 15 mins from the Airport starting at 10:45 AM and take the passengers to the Pier B where they will also checkin and rebound another bus to Ensenada. You have an option to simply go to the Pier B which we will do on the day of sailing as we are staying next to the pier.

  13. Having just spent some time on the new site I have a personal opinion and a few glitches to report.

Personal opinion - while I like to see sites attempt to make improvements, I would surmise from reviewing the site and thes other posts that the IT team did not test the site for usability with a focus group of avid users like Cruise Critic. Site for now is rated by me as POOR.

    Issues-

    1. In attempting a simple search with a date range of May to June and selecting a single ship, Legend, the page loads the possible cruises, stays a second showing a particular Hawaii cruise and then on its own the page reloads to show 660 other cruises having nothing to do with the legend and the Legend isn't even in the selection criteria to re choose on the left. Happened two times. A likely bug.

    2. Selection pop ups are much slower and if you are impatient and click again it then pops up and immediately closing assuming your second click was to by pass the selection.

    3. If you log into My Cruises as most of us C&A users do, from there the same old menus and website shows, but there is no way from there to initiate a search for a new cruise. Under Plan a Cruise, not one menu option other than Short Cruises to search for a cruise. You have to go back to Home.

  14. We just returned from a cruise including Key West as well and have been there before. Others have shared great information about what to do so I won't repeat, but another bar we found last time that you wander by and decide to try or not was Irish Kevin's on Duvall, just down from Sloppy Joes on the same side of the street. The guy that plays music is a great entertainer (a little raunchy) and interacts with the crowd quite a bit.

You also can walk or as part of the Conch Train get to the far most southern point for a picture opportunity.

You may want to walk around the wharf which is cool part of walking the town. Just bear left as you walk coming off the ship and you won't miss it as it borders the left side of the island. Lots of nice restrurants and bars and you can see the charter boats docked there. Plenty of big tarpon swimming under the docks you walk along.

  15. You can review all the benefits of Diamond level on the RCCL website and the special C&A section. From our perspective, Diamond status gets you invited to the nightly happy hour starting around 5 PM to 8 PM to enjoy hordourves and cocktails. You also will have alternative of three free drinks loaded on your see pass card to be used at any bar during this same time period.

Other benefits are loaded on your card as well and in my opinion those are pretty much similar to Emerald and lower levels.

You also get priority boarding lines and priority tender options.

There is one more Elite Event you may be invited too and may see invites to options of backstage, bridge, or galley tours.

Congrats as well on your new status of Diamond.

  16. I too am scratching my head wondering how pricing is available on RCCL for 2017 when those schedules are not out yet, or maybe I am wrong. celebrity has release some 2017, but not many.

And to your point of balking for such a rate, we will still consider cruising is far better than most land options. There are exceptions which this poster, if Al, facts are correct has encountered, but for us, picking a Hawaii cruise on the Legend for 10 days at $792 per person before taxes and gratuities with simple $300 airfare for two to San Diego is far more economical than any 5 day stay in Hawaii with airfare. I say 5 days as 5 days of the 10 cruise is sailing over to Hawaii.

We are against the drink package being added into pricing, but there are still ways to get lower and reasonable fares.

As to the Stockholder benefit, we sold many yrs ago as they placed so many restrictions it became of no value to us. Glad to see the stick is up, but we aren't shareholders anymore.
