  1. We sail at the end of April. I did Dunns River Falls a number of years ago, but not really interested in doing it again and my husband has no desire to ever go. We are booking a private tour to go to the Irie Blue Hole. You might look into that. Nearly everything I have seen about it is positive. Lots of reviews and pictures on trip advisor and there are some great videos out there. Most of the tour companies that go to Falmouth go there and the entrance fee is only $10! Some tours will include that and some won't.

  2. I haven't been to the public beach, though I have seen it from the bar next door and it looks nice. The name of the bar is escaping me at the moment, which is ironic because we love that place. I have been to Cemetary Beach and it has some good snorkeling and is generally not overly crowded, plus it has some shade. Smith's Cove is also one of my favorites, though it is on the opposite side of town from Cemetary Beach. For me, the downside of Cemetary Beach is no bathrooms. That is probably another reason I prefer Smith's Cove, but I know some people don't care. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

  3. Did you have to get a ticket for the tender or just wait in line? What time did you get on the tender and when did you get in line for it? I think your cruise docked at 7am, as ours does in April. We want to spend as much time as possible in Cayman. We just love it! Thanks for the information! :)

  4. I guess we have lucked out then, because everytime we have been there it has been great. I don't go out too far, I'm more comfortable near the shore. My husband usually swims out to the reef. He grew up in San Diego, surfing & snorkeling, so the Caribbean water seems fairly tame to him.

  5. It is so funny to read how small the Legend is considered now. When I was a travel agent back in 95, I was selected from our company to go on a "cruise to nowhere," prior to her maiden sailing. I thought she was such a beautiful and grand ship. We were unable to actually leave port due to some last minute adjustments that had to be made (our waiter told us the anchor fell off!), so they provided an open bar to all of the travel agents. Boy, those people could drink :) I still have the framed print they gave us as a gift. I would love to sail on the Legend again someday.

  6. OK, this is probably going to sound really weird, but does anyone know what night of the week they have the Baked Alaska on the Navigator? We have early dining, which for most nights is fine, but the day we are in Jamaica (Wednesday) we may not be back on the ship until the last minute, therefore not much time to clean up for dinner. I will, however adjust my schedule for Baked Alaska. Strange, I know. If anyone can provide some information, I would appreciate it :)

  7. Search for "Cayman car rentals near cruise port." There is one rental company that has a location just a few blocks from the pier. Their prices were reasonable for our date ($30-32), but keep in mind you have to purchase a mandatory driver's license for $20. The scooters were as much as the small cars. They also rent bikes.

  8. I would do Stingray City in Grand Cayman. It is a really cool excursion/experience. You will stop and see the stingrays on the sand bar and then they usually take you to another area to snorkel. The water in Cayman is beautiful, better than Cozumel in my opinion. I've been to Cozumel twice (on cruises) and Cayman 3 times (one cruise, twice for a week long stay).

  9. Swan0299,

I prefer Smith's Cove to the Reef Balls at the Marriott, though those are fine too. My son has done both. He is now almost 13, but he snorkeled both at the ages of 5 and 8. Smith's Cove has some shaded sand areas and picnic tables and generally less crowded. You won't find much in the way of shade at the Marriott. These two snorkels are free of course, but I am not sure how much the snorkel at the Turtle Farm would be, but if you are already planning on going there, you might consider it. If you do go there, I would be interested to hear about it.

  10. txchelle: I second Smith's Cove. It is our favorite and have been there many times, usually when staying on the island. We usually rent a car for our stay and drive. You could take a cab or you could even rent a car for the day and go there. There is a rental location near the pier. Jey01: If you are staying on the island, you could rent a car for the day. There are some locations along 7 Mile Beach. There is one right across the street from our timeshare & the Comfort Suites. You should also consider checking out Rum Point.

  11. I haven't done it, but I have been doing a lot of research on it because we are considering going. TripAdvisor has a lot of reviews, including current ones. Out of 66 reviews, 61 people rate the tours as excellent and 5 rate it as very good. I believe the company isn't very old, maybe only a year or two.
