  1. We sailed over New Year just gone for an 10 night cruise to the Canaries. We didn't use the thermal suite but if my memory serves me correctly (and I did use the spa......a lot!) it was £150 per person for the whole cruise or £250 per couple. Hope this helps. [emoji4]

  2. D deck cabins are completely covered by the deck above. We have sailed in a C deck suite twice and although D deck balconies are massive they are totally shaded, but also totally private.... A deck is directly below the pool deck so you are overlooked, B, C and E decks are overlooked also but you do have privacy further back on the balcony.

We love the aft cabins as we enjoy the wake as well as a better view when docking and leaving ports.

    Hope this helps. Enjoy. [emoji4]

  3. Hi All, we are booked on QV in November, our first time with Cunard and we will be dining in Queens Grill. My question is this - we have asked for a table of 8 but are free to dine any time between 6:30pm and 9:30pm or something like that. How will we know (on the first night) what time to arrive so we are dining at the same time as the others on our table? I'm sure we will work it out thereafter. Sorry if it seems a silly question but we've only sailed with P&O previously and have had set dining times. Very much looking forward to QV.

  4. I have seen in many industries that it is very difficult to make money when your product becomes a commodity. [Notice that Apple sells a small percentage of cell phones but takes home the vast majority of all profit in that industry -- the other vendors are all commoditized; only Apple has distinguished its products so that it can name its price.] Celebrity has been trying to compete with the commodity cruise lines and as a result has had to reduce quality and service to the point that this forum is full of complaints about the cuts. So now they are trying to differentiate themselves by offering the higher level of food and service that people have been clamoring for -- at the price necessary to make it work -- while still offering the commodity version of Celebrity for those who are unwilling to pay more. IMHO the complaints are coming from those who refuse to understand economics and think that Celebrity could provide the prior levels of quality and service at today's commodity prices -- sorry, that isn't possible and won't happen.

  5. What a fabulous review. We are sailing on QV in November for the first time and first time on Cunard having sailed 4 times with P&O, thrice on Arcadia. I've just read Maggiemou's review and have had similar experiences. After a pretty dismal Christmas cruise in 2010 we had said never again but we were tempted back on Arcadia for a New Year cruise 4 years later due to the ease of sailing from Southampton. We enjoyed the cruise very much this time but also felt a distinct sense of disdain from P&O for their customers. So we are trying Celebrity in the summer and Cunard in November. I'm so excited and your review has added to my anticipation. Thank you.
