  1. @Jim_Iain I am having separation anxiety!!! Big mahalo Jim & Iain, for your generosity in sharing your time with us! Your humor, fabulous photography, and information will be so valuable to many of us on our upcoming cruises! Mahalo & Malama Pono (take care of yourself), -Kelley
  2. Happy Heavenly birthday to your dear Mom🙏 -Kelley
  3. It's a Madagascar Day Lizard and they are introduced to Hawai'i. They can be quite tame and lured easily to grape jelly. I still prefer the brown geckos that are more nocturnal which I grew up with here. They make a loud clicking sound similar to the sound horseback riders make with their tongues to signal their horses. It seems like the Maddie is evolving to be nocturnal because the brown ones are disappearing... -Kelley
  4. My absolute favorite tree, Rainbow Shower tree❤️ We have one planted where I see it from the office every day!!! Their gentle fragrance is really lovely, too. Mahalo for sharing! -Kelley
  5. I can see if Costco has it otherwise my outlet is Lahaina. LMK -Kelley
  6. @Jim_Iain Big mahalo for the pics from Onekahakaha (pronounced Oh-nay-kah-hah'-kah-hah') Beach! I remember going there as young as about 3 years old because my brother, who is 2 years younger, was still an infant. It was a perfect way to fall in love with the ocean as a young child should. I will definitely go there again on our next cruise! -Kelley
  7. I will check out Thrifty! Mahalo! -Kelley 🌺
  8. Jim, I see that Enterprise has a non-airport location in Kailua-Kona about a mile from the pier. I am going to try that for our next 2 cruises. The wait at the KOA airport must have been irritating. HNL does the same thing unless you go with Avis. They are 5 🌟. -Kelley
  9. Mahalo 🌺 It's too bad Enterprise won't deliver. -Kelley
  10. Mahalo for the lead! I will try it on my next visit. On Maui, when Star Noodle reopens in Lahaina, you will love their fabulous food, too! -Kelley
  11. Wow! That's a lot of driving but a good way to spend the day. Where are you renting your car from in Kailua-Kona? -Kelley
  12. @Jim_Iain, could you believe how much the Halekulani has changed? For that matter, Ala Moana SC too! I fondly remember the koi ponds that ran the length of the mall from Sears to Liberty House. -Kelley
  13. I grew up helping my Mom stir the fried rice and our emergency rations still have bottled water, Spam & toilet paper! Once you live through a hurricane or dock strike in Hawai'i, you will always have these things! -Kelley
  14. Mahalo Jim, I enjoyed your pics and definitely pictured Ala Moana Beach and my many days spent there❣️ -Kelley
  15. Wow, those were the good old days! Sorry you lost your dad so long ago. We moved to Hilo in 1961 for 6 years and then to Oahu for 20 years before I got hired with American Airlines and based at DFW. My first time to ever live somewhere besides Hawaii and it was such a shock to my system! We retired to Kihei 2008 and love living here. Airplanes and cruise ships keep us from getting Rock Fever lol.
  16. Yes, Mala Tavern & Aloha Mixed Plate have reopened as well as Old Lahaina Luau. When in Kihei, Da Kitchen is da place to get Hawaiian Kaukau. Tin Roof in Kahului near OGG airport is another good bet for local grinds! -Kelley
  17. I am so glad you got to see Lahaina and have fond memories. Maui is very open to Malihini (visitors) and only ask for respect, patience and reverence when here. Many residents are still very much in mourning and suffering. I was raised on Oahu and am a Kailua High '78 grad. -Kelley
  18. Our friends who are on Solstice are flying over to Maui for the day. We're taking them to Lahaina for lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate which just reopened after being closed over 8 months after the horrible fires. I will definitely be grinding on their Ahi Poke! -Kelley
  19. Mahalo for sharing your life with us and for your time & energy given to allow us to follow along with you on this cruise!!! Say aloha to Kaimana Beach and the Natatorium for me where I too shed many tears from an abusive relationship. A Hui Hou Kakou! Until we meet again... -Kelley
  20. LocoMoco or Chicken Katsu Musubi for us! -Kelley
  21. @upwarduk I wouldn't change your plans because the Schiphol Airport (AMS) is close to Amsterdam and Rotterdam. X offered a shuttle ride from/to AMS to Rotterdam cruise port if you were arriving/leaving on the same days as the cruise. We just used a ride service to Rotterdam which we reserved ahead of time with Welcome Pickups. Those who waited to book a ride too close to the cruise paid a premium because the train station close to the Rotterdam cruise port unexpectedly closed that weekend for maintenance which wreaked havoc on alternate transportation. -Kelley
