  1. When I was gold I used the 50% discount on the stuff a bag sale, and it worked. As I recall, it is per member, so if you have 2 gold in the room, you can do 2 bags at 50% discount (including stuff a bag sale).
  2. That's great to know. My current upcoming cruise is a 14 day that is a single booking, but is also sold as two individual 7's. I think that would be a possible reason that the upgrades aren't available.
  3. I wonder if the upgrades are only offered to those who book cabins before the 120 days out (before the final payment due date). I always book through NCL, and I've always been sent an "invitation to bid on an upgrade" in the past. This is the first time that I've booked a cruise less that 120 days in advance, so the whole payment was due when I booked. I think that the above comments are right, that the "reservation not found" message means that the information for that reservation wasn't sent to the 3rd party company that manages the upgrades. The message could be much more clear. I'm sure it's caused some needless anxiety for others.
  4. I have done similar to this by just booking two inside cabins, and adult in each. Once on-board we went to the front desk and said we were traveling as a group and wanted a card to get into each others room. They were able to provide this, and it was a wonderful way to cruise!
  5. Thanks for the idea, I had never thought about trying it from the app. I went into the July cruise and saw the "Room Upgrades" button. I clicked on it and put in my name and reservation number, but it said reservation not found. I guess that means I am not eligible to bid on an upgrade. Thanks again for the suggestion.
  6. I am booked on a cruise on the NCL spirit in July, but I never received an invitation for upgrade. I've heard the ship is pretty empty, so I'm surprised. I received an offer for my spring cruise on the breakaway, which was sold out. And I have an upgrade offer for the dawn in August. I've never found any correlation for when I'm offered to bid on upgrades. Fortunately, I'm more interested in being on the cruise, and less concerned about the room. I like spending my time out of the room where I can see the other people.
  7. We did a cruise out of New Orleans in March, got our flight info 37 days before departure. We have a cruise booked in August out of Sweden and go our flights 75 days before departure. We had a day deviation before the cruise in both cases. I am happy with the flights I got for both, and I they were the flights that I would have likely booked myself if I was paying directly. For Winnipeg to New Orleans I had two connections (Toronto and Atlanta) but that was about as good as could be done. On our way back, we had only one connection (Toronto). The layover times were 2 hours or less. For our Sweden trip, we have two connections on the way again (Montreal and Copenhagen), and then one on the way back (Toronto (Our cruise finishes in Copenhagen). Again, all the layovers are fairly minimal, but have enough time for me to feel comfortable with the flights.
  8. My favorite for Glacier viewing is the Promenade Deck near the back. It is rarely crowded, and it is easy to cut through the ship to see the other side. Being lower down gives you the chance to "hear" the ice in the water. I can't say on the Spirit, but on the Jewel class ships there is a warm air vent on Deck 13 outside the Spinnaker entrance. That is the best spot on cold glacier viewing days.
  9. You cross a sturdy bridge on the west side of the airport. The trail is wide, and easy to follow, I would not be concerned about bears. It is a very easy walk, and I plan to do it again when I visit later this month. I also enjoy hiking around Lower Dewey lake, which is on the other side of Skagway. I was last there in 2019.
