  1. Thank you Princeton. You have given important information to me. I appreciate it so very much. I will continue to look at hotels. Thanks again!
  2. ok. I had another Best Western that has a shuttle to the ship. It is the Best Western Plus Arundel Mills. I will be coming in on Amtrak and maybe this is a better hotel for me. I am 66 and while I like adventure, there are some aspects of this cruise that can send my blood pressure soaring. lol. Just want to feel safe. Thanks
  3. well, now ya'll have given me food for thought. Maybe I better do some more looking. I will be by myself and somewhat apprehensive. I'm from the old school and have never used Uber. No clue nor Lyft? I've read where the taxi service is somewhat "sketchy" so not sure what to do. Is uber a safe mode of travel?
  4. correction...the address is 5625 O'Donnall St. Sticky "2".
  5. howdy. I am sailing out of Baltimore on Sept. 8 - 22 and made a reservation at the Best Western Plus. The address is 565 O'Donnall st. They have shuttle to the ship back and forth for a fee. Looks like a decent hotel. Their direct phone number is 855-516-1090. Hope this helps
  6. I changed my cruise from April to September this year so I will patiently and hope that all ships can make plans on what to do. I will be travelling by Amtrak so I really need definite plans. I will be 67 at that point and while I love and adore my 3 children, they are concerned about me travelling alone. I see it as maybe the "last great adventure" and look forward to this cruise. I am sure it will all work out. Prayers for the workers trying to open this channel up and thank you Coast Guard!
  7. My original plan was to take Amtrak to Baltimore and therefore, not have to change trains. But after it moved to Norfolk, that was no longer the case and my plans became too complimented. I have rebooked the cruise for September and hopefuly that will be enough time for the channel to open for ships, I did know about the terrible tragedy about the bridge collaspe and it made me so sad for the families involved. Thank you all for your comments.
  8. thanks ya'll. Found out last night. Strange but there is nothing on Carnival's website about moving to Norfolk. I had the cruise on hold and cancelled today.
  9. I am just about to book the Pride on May 26th for the 14 day cruise. I am traveling by Amtrak from Texas and really need some help on which hotel is worth staying at and that maybe has transportation to the port or has taxi service. Where did ya'll stay and would you stay there again? Thank you in advance and I hope I get alot of wonderful information.
  10. Maybe wrong here but it seems the Ultra offers are slowed down. So, does anyone have a clue? Thanks
  11. are we all going for the casino Ultra? Good Luck to those who are.
  12. I am sailing on the Jubilee on Jan. 13th and have muster station C6. Will someone please tell me where it is located if you can. I can't walk far so I would like to be able to walk directly there instead of all over the ship. Thanks Fellow Cruisers!
  13. Thank you all for replying. Gonna try them all! I am sorry that I didn't see JiJi's listed. Love that restaurant
  14. I will be on the Jubilee during January and I think I read somewhere that the paying restaurants will be free for a certain time. O am beginning to think that I had a dream because I can't find any info about it. Anyone know where I can look?
  15. I haven't been off the ship in years but my son and granddaughter are cruising with this Saturday. I know you need your room card to board but is there anything else you need Thanks ya'll
  16. If I could really fish then that would be the icing on the cake. The casino wouldn't like it because then I would not live in the casino
  17. I always get a cove and if I can't get one, I will book an oceanview. I get a room near the middle elevators and if you use that and go to the lido, you are right at the entrance to guys burgers and the mexican taco place. If you enter the lido, your front buffets are there. The pizza and fish place are the on the back. The cove balcony is very private and covered so you are not roasting in the sun. If it is raining you can still use your balcony and these coves are slightly wider than other balconies. Hope this helps
  18. thanks for that update. I am also boarding today but I received no message. Glad I am not arriving until 12:30. Maybe by then it won't be so crazy
  19. Just went to Galveston.com to see the Vista and all I see is the Breeze. Anyone know where the Vista is?
  20. last comment from me. My issue isn't when I get on board. The issue is "after covid" the "extras" that I use to get because of my 55+ cruises have been dropped. Instead I see the "suite passengers" get the priority boarding and then the rest of the passengers. I know suites cost more money than other rooms but I am afraid Carnival is shooting themselves in the foot. Loyalty should mean something to them. They need the repeat passengers to survive. To place a one-time suite passenger over their repeating customers is a step in the wrong direction. I love cruising and I still will cruise Carnival. I just wish they would include all the levels and their perks. BTW, I am a stockholder also.
  21. ok...I am one of those that checks into my boarding shortly after midnight. As a diamond, I have a 2-day early check-in time from other passengers. So those before me isn't the issue. If diamonds don't get priority boarding then why to we get priority departure? So that doesn't make sense. To me this is akin to getting less product for the same price when you go to the grocery store. Again, I am not trying to think because I am diamond, I should get priority. Instead, when something changes that I have had the right by Carnival to early boarding the ship, then I am curious as to the why. It makes me question Carnival because I have been a fan of them and have enjoyed the perks that Carnival has given me because of my loyalty. Now I am starting to have an issue because my perks are being cut almost everytime I have cruised recently. That is where my head is at and I just want to know why do diamond cruisers not mean as much to Carnival as they used to.
  22. check in time 10:30; first available time to arrive so I don't think that is it. It is not a big deal but I am curious as to the "why". Thanks for your input
  23. That happened to me before and I had to go out of Carnival.com and then wait a few minutes and log back in. Then it worked. I don't know if this is helpful or if you have tried it but good luck.
