  1. We booked an owners suite on the Regal 1-22 sailing and chose that date for the CC amenity. Wanted to wait a few weeks for Princess to get acclimated to it. As I understand it, there is a separate entrance to the DR, etc. we will share our experience either during the cruise depending if we get wifi or when we return.

  2. Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful time on the Connie both times we were on it....it is just that we noticed that particular difference. The food and entertainment was great both times. We love Aqua class and enjoyed Blu. The best onion soup too. Also, as we live in S. Fla, the Connie is a very popular ship and offers at times 3, 4 and 5 day cruises besides the usual 7 days, etc, so there is plenty of turnover, which could also explain the need for a refurbish in April.

  3. With respect to the Connie needed freshening up...yes...to us, it seemed dingy with the carpets and furnishings compared to just 1 year ago. We had aqua class and with that we could use the amenities in the spa, such as the steam rooms, etc. most of them were not even working properly at that time. Also....the majority of the ship by the last night got very sick...upper respiratory infections and the passengers were not happy at all.....it just did not "feel" clean. We have been on over 50+ cruises, so we get a sense about when it is time to freshen us a ship. Our friends booked a med cruise on the Constallation for 2017 summer and asked us to join them, but when we heard it was on that ship, we declined. Just too old for us at a time when there are new ships to explore. iMO.

  4. The Constellation has been "Solticized" so, is now considered a Soltice ship. Been on twice. Last on February 2016. We felt it needed to be freshened up from the year before. Other than that, we enjoyed it. We do Aqua class so we have access to Blu. Glad we did, as we heard some rumbling about the MDR.

  5. Club class dining has a separate entrance to the MDR with to own waitstaff and different menus. We will be doing it on the Regal in January. We have been doing aqua class on Celebrity because we enjoy having our own designated dining room. Also in suite status on the Allure of the Seas, we had our own dining room as well. It really adds a special element to the cruise. ( IMO)

  6. All I know is...when I take a cruise over Christmas and New Years....regardless of Cruise lines....everything is off and lousy. I ( been on over 100 cruises) see A pattern and believe, that the cruise staff that is great is off the ship during this time. That is why we figured out to NEVER cruise over Christmas and New Years...typically is our worse cruise.
