  1. Platinum status just means that you will be cleared for Your Time Dining (what Carnival calls it) before other Platinums that booked after you, people with FTTF and all others. Unless there is a huge amount of Diamonds and Platinums that booked before you, you should be fine.

    Ok. Thanks for the responses

My husband and I just finished an excursion of Bermuda

Did not know we were put in a group of 28

    2 coaches

Hubby has medical issuers,   recent cancer survivor., open heart surgery and just recover from broken neck.  Also 71 yr young

The other in a group knew that he needed that seat.  Driver assigned it to him

We got off potty break and kindly ask if we can have the seat back

Told us we are switching it up. Move to the back.

So we sat in the front seats

Told us to move.  Its for their group

We didnt.   3 of the men started to attack my  husband'  yelling in his ear.   Dont ever disrespect our group.

One had his hand up to my face

The driver did tell them to back off

    However continue with comments

    Very sad that bullies continues

Same group continues this on the ship until an employee stopped it

This group was young folks either

Your situation was clearly a little different then just "we wanted the same seats and someone took them."  Your husband clearly needed a specific seat for a physical reason, of which the bus driver was aware.  I blame that bus driver for allowing the situation to escalate the way it did. I've been on tours where someone had to sit in a specific seat for the tour for some reason or another.  Heck, my husband was that person once, due to a knee injury.  The bus driver made it clear from the get-go that a certain seat was reserved for someone, and that was that.  I'm sorry that you had to deal with such rude people, and I hope you were able to enjoy the tour despite that.

  3. If it’s a situation where the bus driver told everyone to take their things off of the bus, then when you get back on, I feel that seats are open and it’s fair game if you want to choose different seats. And I have done so in the past. If it’s a situation where the bus driver has told people they could leave their things on the bus, then I think everyone should take the same seats when getting back on.

So just curious, decided to do the chefs table and submitted info. I did not get any kind of email. Went back to check and it says confirmation emails will be sent 24hrs prior to departure. So I won’t know what night or anything until the day before we depart?

When we did the Chef’s table I got an email confirmation in June of 2018 for our Feb 2019 cruise. So I do believe that they send out the confirmations when you put in the request, not just days before the cruise. Unless they have changed something since then. We did not find out what date our reservation was for until we got onboard, however.

  5. We have purposely gotten the highest number luggage tags on quite a few occasions because we want to be the last off. Personally, I think it would be very rude to ask your steward if you can leave your luggage in the closet simply because you don’t want to check your luggage. They have enough going on that morning that they shouldn’t be asked to be responsible for your luggage (since the door to the room won’t be locked, so it won’t be secure).

That said, check your luggage and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the MDR. We love to do this while everyone else is stressing to get off the ship ASAP. Then we usually find a nice place to sit while we wait for “last call” off the ship. I’m sure you can walk around the track instead if you want. I don’t see why they would close it.

  6. Carnival has done a Norwegian Fjords cruise once before that I am aware of. I think maybe in 2004.  This one is currently the only one offered. I booked it the same day they announced it. A Norwegian Fjords cruise was high on my bucket list, and we have friends that I knew wanted to do it as well, so they booked it too. I’ve been on watching it for awhile and I believe it’s pretty close to being full. We know another couple that is contemplating it, too, but they don’t like to book until right before the sail date. I think if they wait on this one they will be out of luck.

  7. If you booked Guarantee room you can’t switch to another room unless you pay the non-Guarantee rate for the new room. The whole point of the Guarantee rate is that it costs less because you don’t get to choose.

As as far as a room under the galley is concerned, it may or may not be noisy, depending on what is right above you. You’re best bet if you stay in this room is to bring ear plugs to wear while sleeping, just in case.

  8. I use a KYSS bag and lock it to our beach chairs. I have a beach bag, and more recently got a backpack too. The quality of these bags is extremely good. I highly recommend them. I don’t believe their website is updated yet to show that they are now selling the backpack, but you can message them and they will invoice you. The middle-sized bag is a bit bigger, though, and really good for the beach. I plan to use the backpack as my personal item for when we fly.

I don't think this will work. If all the kids are under 11 than isn't there an adult in their room? FTTF is for all occupants of one cabin! Anyone in the other cabin will have wait until their assigned boarding time. Better to get FTTF for both cabins and board together!

It is absolutely not necessary for the parents in this case to purchase FTTF for the kids room. The kids will be able to board with their parent. And you might want to review the Minor Guest policy. Kids 12 and younger can be in a room alone if the are next door or across the hall from their parents, as long as they are not in a balcony room.

  10. I am a WW Lifetime member, and have tracked while cruising.  All you need is the highest tiered internet plan.  You do NOT need to get the international plan for your phone.  The syncing between your Fitbit and WW apps will work via the wifi.

As an FYI, though, just be aware that your Fitbit will act funny on a cruise ship.  My husband and I usually do laps around the track at night, and while the amount of steps seemed to be fairly accurate, the distance that it would log was waaaay off. Being on moving ship seems to throw off the GPS and it thinks you are walking much further than you are.  Like every lap it would say we walked a mile, lol.  But again, the total steps seemed to be ok.

Were you able to do that online or did you have to call? It's not showing up anywhere that I see to even cancel it. The other excursion that I purchased at the same time is there but that's it.

In my case the excursion was still showing up under my purchases in my Cruise Manager, so I was able to easily cancel it online.

  12. As an FYI: there’s not such thing as a boarding time. You board when Carnival instructs you to. The time listed on your boarding pass is a check-in time only. With FTTF you can check in at any time once check in for your cruise has started. However, you will only board when boarding has begun for FTTF. I have had cruises that have had delayed embarkation for one reason or another, and even with FTTF we didn’t board until 12:45.
