The cabins themselves are a bit wider than other CC cabins. The balconies are huge. Having never seen a standard 2A balcony, I can't comment on how many times larger. Yes, it is see-through railing. These are excellent cabins.

As for loungers, they used to have them. No idea whether or not they still do.

  2. Thanks so Much! huge as in long and deep balcony? or width wise see picture is this what 6135 and 6136 look like?

  3. the people that died in Tunisia were on a cruise, they were at the bardo museum which we visited in 2010, turkey may be attacked by isis so I really would choose another itinerary ! we were in Ephesus and this time wanted to see instanbul, but no way would rather go to Greece and venice

Initially I was worried about this, especially my husband. But I figured if the cruises go there, it must be safe? No?
  4. I would honestly stay away form Turkey at this time and next year, as ISIS is getting into turkey and causing issues, Syria borders turkey, we were going to do an itinerary that does turkey but after seeing the news we are doing celebrity and royal next summer 2016 for Europe avoiding Tunisia and turkey:eek:

QUOTE=viranpooja;46348162]Hi! I am new to this forum so please forgive me if this has already been discussed in the past. A little bit about my cruising experience: I have only been on one seven day cruise before and that was with Star Princess to Alaska.

We are booked on a cruise to the Mediterranean on Norwegian for 14 days. The age range of our group varies from 16 as the youngest to 57 being the oldest. We recently just found a 14 day cruise on Celebrity (similar price to Norwegian) and it has almost the same itinerary.

    * The difference being that Celebrity goes to Istanbul, Turkey whereas Norwegian goes to Corfu, Greece

    * On Norwegian we are all next to each other on the deck, whereas on Celebrity it is a guaranteed room so we will not know where we will be on the ship (guaranteed interior rooms).

    * Many of us are vegetarians and I hear that NCL may NOT have many options for vegetarians

    * Celebrity only stops in Santorini until 5pm, whereas NCL stops in Santorini until 10pm which means I get to see the sunset which I have been longing to see in Santorini

Now the question becomes, is it better to go on Celebrity (premium line with better food) or better to go on Norwegian (which seems to be more "fun" for the younger crowd, and we know where we will be located on the ship)? We have reserved both at this point and are hoping for some insight before cancelling one over the other! Any advice will be helpful! Thanks in advance!!!:)

  5. we are meat and potatoes very basic type of eaters.. not foodies .. seriously we eat at mcdonalds and are happy..

im talking about the steak that is like shoe leather in main dining, chicken that is cold and rubbery... soup that is cold, bread that is stale , lettuce that is old and wilted!! equinox 2011 was really off I think that head chef must have been drunk or on vacation!! it was awful, we don't want to pay for aqua class as honestly last time we were in aqua class is was great!! however this time 2000.00 difference no way.... I hope constellation will be better- we are picking it for itinerary only and that's it- its seriously the only one that will go to all the countries we want to see

Food is such a subjective thing. But I'm curious about what *awful* means to you. Where do you normally eat that food from a ship towards the high end of the mass market sailing crowd is so bad?

I'm not trying to be snippy; I'm truly curious.

  6. on the equinox the chicken was dry couldn't cut it , the steak horrible seriously like shoe leather, soups cold had to send back, very substandard food !! hopefully 2016 on the constellation we will have better food in main dining-we are meat and potatoes type of people very simple tastes

What was awful? The choices? The side dishes? The temperature? The seasonings? Some things have changed in four years, some have not.
  7. Thanks so much, its great to know that basic martini at least like cosmos, appletini etc at martini bar will be honored with classic package..:D

Eclipse last Nov. We had the classic and drank classic martinis and other drinks at the martini bar. You could get Cosmos, Appletinis, and regular gin or vodka martinis. They are in smaller glasses like they serve all martinis in at the other bars and use the spirits that are in the classic package.

Best is to keep the classic and when on board decide if it is worth upgrading. If you can't get what you are after in the martini bar and feel it is worth paying the difference then go for it. There is no need or reason to pay in advance. Have read that the upgrade between the two will still remain the same even though there is a increase in the prices of the packages.

    Drink up

  8. which celebrity cruise has the oceanview brunch any pictures please? recent I hope

No more grand Brunch in the MDR. They are now doing a special brunch in the Oceanview, we have seen it on our last 3 cruises. Each time it was on a sea day near the end of the cruise.

There are some ice sculptures and some food items not normally in the Oceanview but not at all like it was in the MDR. We didn't care for the MDR extravaganza, it was like a feeding frenzy with a lot of wasted food.

  9. by the way what did you think of food in main dining on the equinox in 2013?

The standard martinis are above the classic package (which means you'd have to pay the entire amount). Occasionally, in the past, one of the bartenders would make you a smaller martini that would fit into the classic package. Haven't seen recently though. We get the classic beverage perk then use the OBC perk to upgrade to the premium drinks package & just don't worry about it
