  1. I wanted to share with everyone that Azamara has just called me directly and we have been upgraded for our upcoming cruise - free of charge! We are 5 sleeps away from leaving for our trip and this news has us over the moon!

Mark from LCV was very apologetic regarding the handling of the previous upgrade call and, when I asked if AZ wanted the return of the apology $50 OBC, he laughed and said of course not. He thanked us for our loyalty to AZ and wished us a wonderful voyage.

Azamara has redeemed itself in my eyes.

Now if they can only correct the error on our e-Docs regarding embarkation port in Singapore, all will be right with the world!!!

I am hoping this thread does not deteriorate to the point of being shut down like my previous on the same subject.

Very lucky, never had a free one:(

  2. Photos won't open on my Mac when using Safari my preferred browser. However if I change to Firefox then the photos are all there, already open !

No idea of the technical reason.

They open fine on my Mac on Safari, may be worth checking that your OS and Safari are the latest versions.

  3. Well, the good news is, it appears that we may not need to get a visa in advance for Dubai, see this statement from the UAE Visitors site which refers to arrivals at the airport, I see the same applies if arriving at the cruise port.

    Visas on arrival

    (A) If you are a passport holder of the below country or territory, no advance visa arrangements are required to visit the UAE. Simply disembark your flight at Dubai International Airport and proceed to Immigration, where your passport will be stamped with a 30-days visit visa free of charge.

  4. We were in the Owners Suite last May and had the same issue with water leaking from the shower and into the hallway. We were told they were aware of it and it would be corrected. What are they waiting for?

Having travelled in both the Owners and Ocean suites, and experienced the unsuccessful efforts at resolving the shower leaks, it would be much easier for them to be declared as ‘wet rooms’ :D

  5. Hi Azamarajunkie,

As mentioned in the previous response under theocean suites question, the final deckplans for Pursuit are not finalised yet.Mosaics Café is a very popular part of the ship and it’s critical we get itright. Once we know more, we will tell you.

    Many thanks,

    Richard

    Hi Richard

Thank you for your response, I look forward to further news as things develop

    Kind regards

    Steve

P.S. it was good to meet you and the team on Saturday

  6. The 54 show was wonderful. The cabaret seating was done a little differently in the very front to make more of an intimate dinner club feel. There are featured cocktails from 54 below menu. for an extra fee. Daniel Reichard was very, very good. He will be performing a couple more shows.

Tonight is the premiere of City Theatre......short plays that last 10 min or so. We will probably have to miss because we are doing specialty restaurant.

There is an Opening Night Reception in LR. They will have complimentary cocktails from 54 Below to try and the actors and performers will be there.

Sounds promising, presumably complementary cocktails are still available during the show.

  7. And Bonnie, while you are at it, can you please confirm if Azamara will indeed assist with Canadian guests securing a visa for Vietnam, and that all we need to bring is a recent passport photo.

    Thank you.

Hasn’t this been answered on the Roll Call for the 25th March cruise?

  8. Ok It looks like all the booklets for Singapore may not be correct. Oh except we’ve not even got one for 25th so maybe ours will be correct when it comes

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Silly question I know, but have you checked your online documents for your guest ticket booklet for the 25th?

  9. :D

We all know that travel, and its assorted experiences, can provide challenges that reveal our true nature.

Here is a situation before we even leave that challenges my self-regard as a frugal but wise and ethical traveler.

For an upcoming cruise, Choice Air offers from Toronto one direct 8 hour Air Canada flight to Rome.

However, because of a code share (Lufthansa) and options of refundable/nonrefundable, there are 4 choices in Premium Economy.

Surprisingly and unaccountably, one of those refundable choices is $600. per person less than the other three albeit, of course, about $500. pp more than Economy.

    Do we:

a/ Stick with the frugal Economy seating?

b/ Decide that this single Premium Economy option offers an amazing and attractive $600. savings from the other three choices, a bargain too good to pass up?

    or

C/ Call Choice Air and point out the discrepancy? :)

In the context of many of today's problems this is not serious, but I am curious as to how the seasoned travelers on this forum would reason through this decision.

I would book the cheap option, the only negative is that they may notice the discrepancy, if not you’re ‘quids in’ as we say over here

  10. We were on a private tour of I think about 20 people, leaving early from the ship. The organiser of the tour arranged via the concierge for us all to have snack boxes. Don’t know how commonplace this is or how easy to organise

Good point, hadn’t thought of asking the concierge, I was thinking of asking our butler.

  11. Steve, I don’t think they do. In my mind I think they have provided a snack lunch for one of the tours, but it was mostly pre-packed, I guess to satisfy food hygiene rules. All I’ve ever done for myself is to put some cookies from Mosaic in a couple of take out cups.

    Phil

Good point about the cup from Mosaic Phil, when we took boiled eggs out with us on our Cuba tour they ended up a bit flat in our bag, easy to peel though:)

  12. This is a question I’ve never considered before, but whilst planning some private tours for our October cruise it came across our minds that it may be helpful to have a packed lunch to avoid having to spend time in a lunchtime restaurant on a day tour. Especially as we want to make the most of our days in the Middle East.

Despite our cruising history with AZ , we’ve never done this other than take the odd boiled egg from the breakfast buffet to keep us going.

  13. I believe that the brand is O'Douells

Yes, that is the alcohol free beer, I accidentally ordered it once thinking it was a different complementary offering of real beer, never again:(

  14. We like both Owners for the great balcony, and Ocean for the great view when sailing up river. Last year we did Venice arriving in the Ocean suite, and departed in the Owners suite on the following cruise. We also did the Panama Canal in the Ocean suite and had great views. We have always had 7005 on starboard side which in our opinion has the best bed layout where the bed is next to the side window. We like this location particularly for the forward view and have it again on our cruise next month for the river cruise into Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok.

Some people complain about the noise from the anchor chain when tendering, I can honestly say it has never bothered us. Sometimes we’ve heard the bridge officers above when they’ve been going out onto the wing bridge, but it’s hardly an inconvenience. The only inconvenience I can think off is the occasional drip from the bridge windscreen washers when you’re on the sun bed!

  15. Most ports have their own websites, for example Singapore Cruise Centre has its own which gives details of which ships arrive on a given date.

These are the results for Harbourfront Cruise Terminal in Singapore on the 8th April
