Can anybody that has recently got off a NCL cruise comment in the drink prices being raised???

Is this true and by how much?

At the end of the "USA TODAY" article about the food ban outside if restaurwants, it also stated that they "hiked" up drink prices.

This is gonna affect the passengers with UBP....

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but I was on the Jewel for about 19 nights and just loved it. Too bad about all these new rules and changes. The staff was great and I pity them being forced into enforcing the rules.

 

The Tsar's Restaurant is open for lunch on embarkation day even though the staff tries to send you to the buffet. Sorry, I didn't see any cold soups. I think they are a thing of the past!

I contacted several agents. I contacted 3 listed on the agents page of this site, I contacted a local branch of a large Northeast agency, and I contacted an agent my brother has used for years. Here is a list of the offers.

Does anyone know how long it takes NCL to process transfer requests?

I called and sent an email to the TA. I am awaiting a response. I'll keep you all posted on how this plays out...

I actually just looked at my original NCL conformation, and I only booked it less then 30 days ago....March 27. I already paid my deposit to NCL and I just filled out the Transfer order form and sent it to NCL dispatch this morning...they are closed today and haven't processed it yet.

Maybe the TA was misinformed. Maybe I will get to keep my original promo.

What do you think?..cause the TA didn't ask me for any credit card info to place another deposit or anything like that.

I guess we will have to wait and see when the TA sends me conformation of transfer.

I booked the Jewel in January to Mexican Riviera through NCL.

I wanted to be sure to get the room I wanted(Aft Penthouse Deck 10) as well as the FREESTYLE CHOICE PROMO in March.

I contacted a travel agent that CC has on their agency page. I asked her if I was able to keep the previous promo that I already had. She said she would call me back.

So she did some research and called me back....

She said I had to take the current promotion -

but......the agency would also throw in $200 OBC!

I really wanted to be able to keep my old promotion, so I could get a total of $400 OBC.......but I guess I still come out ahead right?.... I didn't loose the $200 OBC, I gained $75 SHORE EXCURSION CREDIT per port for the 7 day cruise.

What would you have done?

Anyone have experience with transferring to TA?....Should I have been able to keep the original promo I booked with??

Any advice or comments would be appreciated..

Has anyone done the Cruise Critic Roll Call get togethers? How does that work?

You'll likely get an invite to the Haven as a suite guest, for a meet and greet with the Captain or other Senior Crew Member. Judge for yourself but sounds like you will agree.

Meet and greet huh? Fancy! Lol....What day of the cruise did that happen on?

I'm glad I'll be able to check out the Haven and Judge for myself.

I have not stayed in the Haven on the Jewel but I've been in it and seen the cabins. Me personally, no I would not. Both the wife and I agree that it's too small for our liking.

 

That said, others love it.

I Dont know if we would do it....I love aft facing rooms....the idea of the haven is nice, but I'd feel secluded on that deck....I like to be in the fun of it all. Besides, I Dont really swim in the pool anyways.

We like the cabin so much we booked the same one for our 13 day gem cruise next year. :p

Would you do the Haven on the Jewel after this experience with the aft penthouse? Or have you done it?

We sailed in many aft suites (including 10664 and 10666) and enjoyed them. Love the coffee maker! No flavor creamers. It does have a frother. I usually make a cappuccino.☺

Awesome! So that means if I keep my fridge stocked with milk, I can make lattes! He he....is it LAVAZZA coffee? I've been to Europe a few times and love that coffee.

Anybody have any info on Slot Tournaments on the Jewel?

How many would they have on a 7 -day sailing? We are doing Mexican Riviera on Jan 31 2016.

Any info would be helpful. I like to play slots, and maybe a slot tournament would be a fun way not to spend all my money and if I win its a added bonus, but if I lose I didn't spend ALL my OBC! Hahah..

Sweet! If there are 2 loungers, a chair and tables that is enough for us.

Were looking forward to the suite benifets. We are not very needy people, but do like to have some perks when cruising....I'd like to get chocolate covered strawberries.....and have 2 brekfasts in our room a couple of mornings....but In plan on telling our butler ahead if time.

I'm really looking forward to the coffee maker! Is it too much to ask the butler to always keep the room stocked with creamer? I wonder if they have flavored creamer...hazelnut....etc...

Does the machine also have a milk frother?
