Looking for an update, if there is one. Going on the Pride out of Dover, stopping in several ports in Norway. Thanks!

Right now i'm going by what we did in 2018 until i hear differently purchase alcohol in every port and take directly to my cabin. Going to check with my PVP when it's closer to cruising.

When I ran across the title of this thread I thought thats for old people. HEY I am old.

Back to topic. All my life I had promised myself I would retire by 62. That was my goal. I worked hard with multiple jobs at once and we were doing well for our situation. Age 60 guess what life had another plan, Heart Attack. Dr. sat on my bed and told me I should not be alive and better make some changes. Well I was supervisor on first shift at psychiatric hospital for our state prisons. Dr. told me the job stress is part of the issue, he said you are not going back. DISABILITY.

We didnt plan on this at all. We loved traveling, bought a motor home to retire with and cruising was our love.

So I retired 2 years early and I told my wife go in tomorrow and give your notice. You are quitting and we will make it ok.

6 months later got in motorhome and started fulltime for several years. My reason for this is:

DONT WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS TO FORCE IT ON YOU. Make a plan and do it 5 years sooner.

We have never regretted a minute our decision and have seen almost our entire country and cruise when we can.

That is best advice I can give anyone.

I like your story it's similar make a plan and do it don't look back, i stopped driving when i'm vacationing let someone else do it.

  3. I retired at 62 business owner now i am 70 and promised myself i will not go back working but just traveling. Will be doing my 3rd BTB Transatlantic cruise next Oct. flying into Rome for a 9 day cruise then disembark in Lisbon to catch a plane to Paris for 3 days then catch Eurostar train to London for 3 days then our 14 day cruise on the new Celebration, we disembark in Miami where i will spend a week in Florida thats what you do when you retire.

It's been 8 years since we have cruised with Carnival,  we have  cruised with Princess since then and have always had an active Meet n Mingle group and I'm disappointed that there hasn't been more interest in a Meet n Mingle for our Carnival Horizon Cruises on Oct 30 and Nov 7 of this year!

When you log onto cruise critic they have a list of 9 cruise ship who have paused their meet & greet. It may take awhile before M&G are back.

Just based on everything I've read I think Pride will start from Baltimore in September (hopefully beginning of September), but like with everything else covid-related, the situation is fluid.

I imagine you already know this, but the ship that's taking her place in Baltimore is just like her.

The Legend is taking her place in Baltimore and the Pride will be sent to Europe we are booked on her Oct. 202

  6. I received the $100 casino interior cabin offer for the Magic this October which i accepted and added the next cruise for a BTB free casino drinks and $100 each person return as OBC. I also got the casino offer for 2022 BTB TA on the Pride and Celebration $500 OBC for each cruise and free drinks.

Husband and I scheduled a cruise and then decided to take two teenage grandsons with us. We are from northern Ohio (about 17 miles from Lake Erie) and still debating on flying down to Port Canaveral or driving down. If we fly our luggage will be limited. With that being said I am curious of what floors and locations of the laundry facilities that are available. I do not have a problem with washing a load of clothes one day.  Anyone know on what floors the laundry facilities are located?

Deck 2 midship, Deck 7 midship and Deck 10 forward. 🙂

Please note that if there is a chance of rain 🌧 on your cruise the wonderful thing about a cabana is you can sit out there in the swing or chair underneath the overhead  and still enjoy your balcony/cabana patio outside. This is a game changer. The other balconies are not covered and do not have swing chairs.

We stayed in 4216 on the Horizon 23 days my only problem is this cabin is only available on certain ships i love staying in a Havana Cabana Cabin. Your pictures brings back good memories.

I believe the fruit basket and champagne would only apply to B2B on same ship.

BTB same ship Carnival Horizon same cabin 23 days no fruit basket no Champagne maybe not all BTB but we had the best cruise to date.

I stayed in one of these on my first cruise on the Pride and it was an awesome cabin, but I told myself that in the future I prefer the cabins that are protruded from the ship. This cabin only had two minor issues. A lifeboat under your cabin instead of a direct view down to the water and a slightly obscured view forward due to those outward cabins ahead of you. These really are minor though, the view is still awesome and the room larger.

Right now just being on a ship will be ok, it will be only 9 days then i will be on the Celebration T/A to Miami. Thanks for the heads up on the lifeboat.

Not sure about that but i do know on my TA on the Celebration leaving Southampton it says that extras such as Cheers have to be purchased on board as they are not available for purchase in advance on the US website.

I was on the Horizon 2018 Europe cruise and you were allowed to bring back onboard to your cabin wine and liquor from the ports you visited. At the end of the cruise i bought back 15 bottles total from every port, no need for cheers.
