  1. Please remember when living in the USA don’t wait to the last day to cancel, as the clock is set in Italy, so it may be 89 days that you think you are canceling but you may have already missed it if it is the next day in Italy.... happened to me.

  3. If you read carefully, there are various preferred captains. Being American helps because they are more open. If you see past comments, you see that some captains are "invisibles" (not often seen in public spaces, not greeting people) and "mutes" (few official "daily" announcements). As you see, not all captain are made equal. As passengers we prefer visible and instructive captain (which maybe are not the more competent and safe, OTOH I think all in Celebrity are more than "good enough").

     

     

     

    Being female often help (once one reach a certain level): we recognize them more.

     

     

     

    But the real reason: she has an English name. We have the captain "Greek/non-Greek", but it is difficult to remember the name and write it (and having a brother captain do not help, one cannot just use the surname). But we like him.

     

     

     

    All captains are different each other.

     

     

     

    It also helps to have an active Instagram account and put lots of photos on it. Captain Scala from MSC is also very active on social media and a large following (Bug Naked) also helps.....Captain Kate’s Elf sphinx cat that sails with her and has their own account.

  4. If you have a criminal record, involving drugs etc, border control can flag you and everyone sailing in your cabin. Seen it happen in JAX port, when you scan you card exiting the ship they take you to the side and wait for border control to collect you, where you will be questioned, and luggage searched. If all goes well you get to leave.

When you are ordering your drinks on board make sure that they know you are deluxe, it is not printed on your card and the classic box pops up first on the tablet, upgrade is after that so they need to find it. I had to tell them this 95% of the time otherwise they charge extra for premium drinks.

  6. I loved the armband, it stayed on my arm the whole cruise we only used our cards to leave the ship. The software for the tracking of armbands is not working yet. The photo organization is so much better now, they scan you when taking photos which you can see when checking into the photo booths. Make sure you pre-purchase your photo packages much cheaper. Another thing if you have upgraded to the deluxe drink package, when they scan you on the tablet: classic drink package shows up first, tell them to look again upgrade is the next one over. Ninety five percent of the time they said “xtra charge for this” and if tell them to look again.

  7. Some pointers: if you prepurchase spa packages go to the spa ASAP when boarding to book times. We went at 2pm and they were already trying to give me 6pm slots to use.

     

    The deck 8 buffet is much more extensive than deck 16. We haven’t had an issue with seating at either one.

     

    Bar service: most of the time they appear to ignore you while you wait to place an order for a drink.... Miami Pool bar the worst. Sports Bar is impressive, they were fast, Jungle pool bar were friendly. Champagne bar usually quiet and service fast.

     

    The atrium is beautiful... I enjoy the live music.

     

    Specialty Dining: Butchers Block, had a group of 8, service super slow. A lot of confusion regarding who had what drink package (only 2 had classic the rest had deluxe) note there were about a total of about 6 glasses of wine available.

     

    The Shrimp cocktail was wonderful, 4 huge shrimp. I had the fillet it was ok, they weren’t get the food out promptly, only one waiter serving us . Everyone got their steaks and then We waited for the sauce and finally the one side you get any extras are charged according. Presentation so so, the mashed potatoes smeared on a saucer, roasted squash comprised 5 slices of yellow squash, roasted cauliflower cold. It appears as on Divina the service in the specialty restaurants is still not SPECIAL.

    We have 2 more dinners to go hope they are better.

     

    Jamaica today, a little cloudy presently, it will probably clear I see blue sky between the clouds.

  8. We got the keys at checkin at the port, very efficient (the picture you down loaded in web check in doesn’t flow through they take another one)

     

    I did see a luggage check when boarding, but we went to the cabin it was ready and left carry on there.

     

    You have 48 hrs to register your CR card don’t wait in line with 50 people to do it right away.

     

    Yes the TV is interactive, there are also multiple touch screen TVs around the ship to book shows.

     

    It appears they are also scanning your card before taking you photo.

     

    The arm bands are $5 in the logo shop, the choose them by muster station and then you take them to guest services to be programmed.

  9. The space between the bed and wardrobe is way too small and the wardrobe is set up the wrong way around, the draws should be to the right leaving the hanging space clear.

     

     

     

    I second that, we boarded yesterday, 11210 they had the double bunk sofa up on arrival and there is very little space0a5e46217b40c5a82983b5cb5a13b930.jpg we also haven’t even seen our cabin guy, no turn down service or towel exchange last night.I’ll be getting to the bottom of that today
