We always drive to the port at least the day before. You never know what type of traffic you will run into.

My wife and I tell them neither. We make the beds and keep the room tidy so all we need is clean towels which we just take from the cart when it's in the hall.
We leave the tips in place and also tip extra at the end of the cruise. These poor people have so many cabins and work so hard I feel bad knowing I'm contributing to their hardship.(y)

Yeah, this is insane. I would never clean on my vacation, much less tip them for not doing their job. I always leave the auto tips, and leave more for those who went above and beyond expectations.

I wish I hadn't read this thread... I'm more torn now than I was before! On one hand, my family really doesn't need service twice a day and sometimes I do enjoy sleeping in a little. But, on the other hand, I feel the point may be valid that it may not directly result in a more manageable day for the steward, but maybe less stewards with more rooms to attend!?!?! Also, it was a great point that the gratuities didn't change accordingly either. Not that i mind, but let a little roll down to the working man/woman. It feels like the steward is the one that takes the brunt of this trend.
No need to stress about it. Room stewards will never rush you out of your room.

Always both. I never want to feel like I have to clean or straighten up on a cruise. Allowing them do only do half of their job is why Carnival keeps cutting back on room stewards.

If you booked through carnival you would need to call them and have them add it to your cruise bill, which must be paid within 90 days of the cruise.
If you booked through a travel agent, or a 3rd party website, you need to call them and have them add it to your bill, which must be paid within 90 days of the cruise.

We decided based upon the excursion that took the least amount of time. There is one in Belize that is a 4 hour - 5 hour excursion, it was amazing! If I recall correctly all the other Mayan excursions had a two and a half hour bus ride, 30 minute hike through the woods, 30 minutes at the ruins, 30 minutes for lunch, 30 minute hike back, and another two and a half hour trip back to port. We didnt want to spend 8 hours of our day on one excursion that only provided 30 minutes of enjoyment.

Interesting. I've not heard of this program. I don't think I'd be interested, but it's interesting to know it's available. Is getting off the ship at ports a long process? We didn't wait at all on Royal Carribean. It was a fast process. Just scan your card and go.....
FTTF only gives you priority for ports with tenders. The ports with docks are easy, everyone can scan and walk off!

Our cruise is in less than 3 weeks, I checked it several times a day. This past weekend when I checked, it said limited availability and I was able to get one. I was so use to seeing sold out that I'm still in denial that I got one. [emoji6]

When I got mine this morning I almost exited the browser because I was so used to seeing it say sold out. I had to do a double take! I grabbed my credit card as fast as I could!

What is Faster To The Fun? How much does it cost ect....?
Faster to the Fun costs $69.99 per cabin and gives your priority access when embarking, tendering and disembarking. It also provides you a priority line at the customer service counter on board. The best feature is your room is ready as soon as you board, and your bags are deleivered before anyone elses. Its worth every dime!

I know many of you may be consistently checking to see if FTTF is available for your upcoming cruise. For the past month I have been checking 5 times a day and it has always been sold out, until this morning. We are exactly 5 months from our sail date today and I checked at 5am this morning and it finally said add to cart! I quickly bought it! I went back to check to see how many more were available and it was sold out again.
So tips for trying to snag Faster to the Fun:
- Check multiple times a day, especially in the early morning.
- Spefically check on monthly intervals. Ex: 30, 60, 90, 120 days.
- 90 days will be your best chance as this is the cutoff where people have to have their trip paid. If its not they will have to cancel their FTTF
- Email Shoreexcursions@carnival.com and see if they can sell more FTTF. (This is decided by the amount of diamond and platinum guests booked.)
- Be persistant!
- Dont give up!
I know its so frustrating when its sold out especially if you have used it in the past. Keep checking back on the website and Im sure you will find one! Good Luck!

Awesome! You will have a great time! Aft balconys are amazing!
We love aft cabins, however we always go with Spa Balconys now because of the spa ammentities!
-
Most real chefs tables are in the kitchen.... which is why its called the chefs table. I dont understand why people are complaining.
-
You get access to the spa ammenties, like the therapy pool, saunas, and heated loungers. You also get upgraded shampoo and conditioner as well as robes to use during the duration of your cruise.
We only stay in spa balconys because we love the spa ammenties! We are booked in a spa balcony on the Magic in July!
-
Both decks are the same cabin and balcony size. Either one would be great! Just stay away from aft cabins on deck 8. The Havannah bar is located on deck 9 aft and the band sets up right above the aft cabins. They play till about Midnight if I recall.

They are the best bartenders ever! We were on the Sunshine in July of 2015. I have heard many reports of them being on the Sunshine as of late 2015 but nothing since. We are cruising the Magic in July this year and I would love to see at least one of them!

Can anyone confirm which ship these two alchemy bartenders are on. We met Parviz and Miroslav on the Sunshine in 2015. They made our cruise fantastic and we would love to see them again. Thanks for the help!

We are staying in a Haven Spa Suite on the Getaway (basically the same ship as the breakaway) I will let you know how it is when I get back! We sail in 6 days!
-
For those who have stayed in one of the Norwegian Getaways Spa Mini-Suite, can you tell me what size the bed is. I have read that its a king and I have read on other sites that its a queen. So I figured I would ask those who have actually stayed in one. Thanks for the help.

I drink tab water here at home, but I would never drink tap water on a ship. I will be more than happy to lug a case of water onboard!

Great review! Thanks!

Arcades on cruise ships are a rip off. Games cost anywhere from $1.50 - $5.00 per play. Most of them feature some type of way to win a prize, and all the machines are rigged. There are very few actual video games inside the arcade.
The only way to access the machines is to use the card. If I were a parent I would make sure my child could not charge anything to his card through the duration of the trip, including the arcade. You don't want any surprises come day 7.

Hey fellow cruisers!
I will be sailing on the Norwegian Getaway out of Miami on July 3rd! I am looking for a hotel near the port that will allow me to leave my car parked at the hotel and will transport me to and from the port. Does anyone have any advice on hotels? I know the Hilton and the Hampton Inn offer it but they both are very expensive. Thanks in advance!
