Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi All, I am the OP of the thread. I am Canadian. I have returned from a cruise on Celebrity Millennium starting in LA, Catalina Island, San Francisco, Victoria BC and ending in Vancouver BC. While on the phone with the Captains Club agent, I asked if it was possible to disembark in Victoria rather than Vancouver. They said to send an email to emergency travel services and state my request and citizenship. I indicated that it was not an emergency, however they said that it is just the name of the email address. The process is downlining. I submitted my request. After a week I called to see what the status was and they said it had been approved and that I would be notified on the ship. Fast forward to the night before we were getting off and we went to the customer service desk where they said to come in the morning with our luggage - and then we left the ship with a few others who were doing the same thing as well as about 4 people who were dropping off their large luggage and returning to the ship to go on to Vancouver. Their plan was to go back to Victoria in a few days. Once we left the ship we reported to the Canadian Boarder desk and showed passports and were on our way. Judi
  2. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this question. There was so much information shared that I was unable to find searching online. I will plan my trip to get off at the final destination (Vancouver) but I will enquire once on the ship on the possibility of getting off early. The 2 cruises I am deciding between are 1. starting in Seattle and ending in Vancouver with Victoria the second last stop, or 2. starting in Los Angeles to Vancouver, again with Victoria as the second last stop. Victoria is a 90 minute ferry ride from Vancouver so not a big deal to travel back the next day. thanks again everyone.
  3. I am a Canadian planning an Alaskan cruise and wanted to disembark in Victoria BC instead of Vancouver or Seattle. Has anyone done this? if so, what is the process? Thanks
  4. If you have your own winter hiking boots, can you wear them on the Glacier dog sled excursions or are you required to the wear the boots they supply. thanks
