Regent is dragging their feet on the restart schedule. The Oct 4 mariner out of Rome still shows June 6 as the final payment date, which is three weeks away. They need to enlighten us if it is going and what are the current worse case restrictions on masks and such. IMHOP it is going to be a huge SNAFU on many fronts and not very relaxing or enjoyable. Not something I want to risk $$$$ on to find out.
Given the continual flux of trying to restart, Regent probably does not know if Mariner will sail. Given the uncertainty, Regent needs to quit jerking passengers around and move the final payment to 60 days.
The angst Regent is creating is not making any friends.

Wrong. In 2020, we had multiple refunds, FCCs and bonus FCCs associated with one modified and 2 Oceania cancelled cruises and every item due us (or added on) was processed within 10 days.
FWIW, here on CC, quite a number of non-US travelers suffered at the hands of their TAs who had charged their credit cards directly (a big “red flag” in the US where TAs only pass the CC info on to O (who then charges the CC).
You missed the point. If O delays canceling a cruise (and final payment) until 60 days before sailing, vs canceling at 120-150 days, people will not request refunds of deposits during the interval 60-90 days. O keeps your cash longer. Better cash flow.

Related to this is the shortsightedness of passengers with bookings who want to know tomorrow that O has decided to cancel their “6 months away” cruise because “country X” has stated today that they’ll still be closed then.
As frustrating as that may be for some of us, the “bigger picture” favors the current predictable practice by O whereby they announce once monthly the cancelations for the next several months. Like it or not, it maintains flexibility and efficacy.
And it conserves cash by delaying cash refunds to the last minute.

Corporate bean counters are paid to conserve cash. Delaying your decision to request a refund for 90 days (150-60) achieves that goal. Right now survival depends upon conserving cash.

i live on the west coast as well and i always book my shore excursions at 9 pm the day before as booking opens at midnight EST so out west we get to do it 3 hours earlier.
I agree. We used them when we were on a different cruise line and i am so glad we went. If memory serves you can always cancel the Spain Day tours if you are subsequently able to get on the Regent tour as long as you find out before the cancelation date.
The real question is: will Regent even allow passengers to use independent tours when they start back up? No one knows, but the betting is on a negative answer.

My June 22 cruise just got switched from the Crown to the Emerald Princess. Does the Emerald have Medallion? If not, when?
Apologize if this has previously been asked and answered, but a search didn't uncover anything.

This has been obliquely referenced but I think you should be aware of the balcony cabin dimensions on the R ships. 215 SF total, 175 for the cabin and the Bathroom is SMALL. After the tweeting birds and warm floor on V you will be amazed. Negative amazement. Having said that I’ve spent 52 nights in these cabins. 24 in Asia. However, I must say, before the cruise was over I knew where all heads on the ship were located and their normal use patterns!
I’m confused. Was it the R or the V cabins that had all the head noise? And, if O, where were the cabins?

Interesting article, thanks for posting it. What do you think the chances are that Norwegian has submitted this fully vaccinated plan to the CDC anticipating it being rejected by the CDC thus giving Norwegian and the cruise industry grounds for filing a lawsuit? Either way, I'm glad to see at least one operator seems to be taking the bull by the horns. Thanks again for posting this.
I think you are correct that Norwegian will be the Big 3's test case against the CDC. No way CDC will allow any sailings in July. This is nothing more than legal maneuvering to be in a position to sue. IMHO

Why can’t these be posted at the beginning of each month-not 5+ days later?🥶

Those silly seven day Crystal Caribbean sailings are going to host a lot of historically loyal Regent cruisers; maybe they never return to Regent. I still think Regent should start with Splendor (or maybe Voyager) out of Athens; get some money coming in and getting some crew employed. Something.
I would not give Crystal a nickel. Crystal's owner, Genting, informed the financial community this past week that their liabilities exceeded their assets by over $ 3 BILLION. Can you spell bankruptcy?

Your vaccine card...it is issued by the CDC. Florida can't do squat about that.
My vaccine card was issued by Walgreens- no mention of the CDC.

Just checked and most if not all July cruises are now waitlisted-the sure precursor to cancelation shortly. Same over at Oceania, Regents sister line.

Could be that O just opened up more cabins on the cruise. I recall a number of posts trying to figure out what "sold out" really meant in FDR"s press release on the ATW release.

2 recent financial news events that negatively impacted share price. Plus the continued virus implications.
- Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has commenced public offering of over 47 million shares.
NCL had a large senior notes offering of over 1/2 $billion.

You are correct; and authorization holds true in just about every state. (HIPPA)The only way to solve this issue is for the Feds to create a national data base using the states’ data. Cruise lines can then get paxs
to authorize the companies to access the data base. No authorization, no verification = no sail.

Well I did find our state's vax data base, but to access it you have to have an account, to have an account you must be;
"The immunization information is available to authorized users, such as health care providers, childcare facilities, and schools who work together to inhibit vaccine-preventable diseases."
So apparently individuals can't access it.

You omitted the most important point: All UK cruises are only for UK residents; and the cruises generally only stop in UK ports.
-
Just read that Iceland is opening up to UK & US tourists that have an approved proof of vaccination and it was an approved vaccine. Reading some of the detailed fine print, this should not be too tough for UK residents, but a real challenge for those in the US.
Iceland will not be impressed with my vaccine record from Walgreens.IMHO until there is a standard, not easily forged uniform certificate, ships will be sitting on the beach as they can’t confidently impose vaccination requirements on pax. This is where the feds need to step in and lead. I know I am dreaming-too much cool-ade.

The “grand’ announcement was a big nothing burger. Except for pontificating about the main dining room based upon a sketch, there is nothing to get the juices flowing. Wake me when O has some definitive information to share, and forget the Inane PR hype.

I apologize if this is an old question, but can't find an answer on O's web site. I will be on several long cruises and like to frequent the Black Jack tables in the casino. I am not anxious to carry cash on my travels to the ship. Also do not want to use my ship board account due to the fee charged for casino cash; nor a credit card or check due to casino fees. Question: how can I get cash to my casino account without fees?

What you see there is a combination of taxes and fuel surcharges of which AA has no fuel surcharges. I stand by my earlier post regarding added taxes for London departures.
Go to the details and likely you will see the differences and that added fuel surcharges for BA.
I won't get into a semantics debate except to note that in their fare details, AA never uses any words that would denote a fuel charge.
Words aside, I stand by my original post that flying BA across the pond is substantially more expensive than US carriers. And, I really could care less "why".

Sorry but, you have the taxes backwards. The taxes which affect FF tickets as well as paid tickets are from London to many destinations including the US and affect all airlines, not just BA.
I just booked a FF from the east coast to LGW. Taxes using BA were over $500 more than on American.

My question relates to dining in the specialty restaurants. Don't want to dine alone. Will the Matre d'
work with singles to create a shared table? Or do you have to wait for a couple etc. to be willing to share a table with you? What has been your experience?

If you get on your air carriers web site, put in your name, record locator, flight, etc., you should be able to select your seats. To check out what seats are better/worse than others, log on to SeatGuru dot com.
