I was on the Pride in June for my 25th cruise and my sail and sail card didn't reflect it nor was there any kind of recognition at all.

Did you call Carnival and tell them (or ask what your benefits were) when booking your 25th? The benefits aren’t automatically applied. The good news is you don’t have to use the benefit on your actual 25th cruise!  See the posted link by mz-s above for what the benefits are. It’s a really good perk, so hope you will take advantage on your future cruise!

  2. First to qualify myself, I’ve never done a European cruise, but am Diamond on Carnival. The review that mz-s is talking about was sailing from Dover, I believe and from what others commenting on the review have said, that particular day was the exception to cruising from Dover. As to the condition of the Pride, she’s dry docking in April 2023 so I would book after that. Carnival always has lots of kids activities so I wouldn’t worry about that.  Our son is going on Pride in October but is sailing from Italy. Hope you will take the time to read the reviews, in particular the one by Eli-6 on July 22 Just got on pride and not impressed. There’s over 6 pages of comments so lots of opinions and insights. It all comes down to how much you’re willing to pay. If you’re worried about the clientele, you will see a much different dynamic than on short Caribbean cruises. In my opinion, the $12,000 difference is a deal breaker, you could do several more cruises for that much money!

Whatever your choice, hope you have a wonderful time!

  3. I agree! I usually try to note on my pad when I book a cruise what the offer was for and what it included. But that doesn’t work all the time for me either! It sure would be easier if it were on your Booking Details page!

  4. I suspect you’ll have a pretty good wait to get on board. On 6/3 our arrival was 12-12:30, didn’t have too many lines then. We got back in port around 6:30 am, but didn’t get off till 9:00 and we were #1 tags, Diamond. So that would mean it took awhile to get everyone off. I’m guessing you probably won’t get on before 10:30 or so. Just never know, they always act like every debark is their first time!

  5. Other than the valet parking in Tampa, the terminal parking in Jacksonville is the best and closest. The directions and photos Essiesmom posted are spot on! That’s exactly like it was for our March and April cruises. If there are still off site parking areas they are small. Real estate is at a premium there, mostly marsh.

  6. First time using in March in Jacksonville ,it was awful! They really were t very familiar with it yet and the girl doing ours was in training. Took a few minutes, but our friends zipped right thru. Next time in April in Jacksonville, they had someone coming around to see if you were using or not. That went well. Used in June in Port Canaveral, was fantastic, just as Jimbo said. AlwAys carry backup docs just in case.

  7. We were on Liberty for our 7th time June 3. Ship feels like home, lol. Was a 3 day cruise which we had only done once prior. Won’t do it again! Nothing to do with the ship, just a different clientele.  Anyway, the ship is clean, agree with Always Cruzin pretty much about everything. The casino was really a surprise, figured it would be really smoky, but wasn’t, and liked the layout with most of the non smoking machines across the promenade walkway from smoking. The entertainment was good. Didn’t do the shows, just the bands in lobby and alchemy area.

Thank you all for your answers. So what I got from this is:

    1. If not boosted, you can still cruise but have to show a test within 48 hours of boarding (boosted people get an extra day).

    2. You don't need to show your cards getting on and off the ship at ports, really? That's kind of surprising since you're entering another country.. Has anyone gone to Bonaire, that is one of the countries I saw that won't let you off ship if you're unvaccinated. Maybe they require the vaccine card?

In Nassau you recently had to show a copy of your card. A photo on your phone is ok. If it’s required at a particular port, the cruise director will announce what is required to get off the ship.

    3. Paper card works fine.

It is so much easier to upload all your information to Verifly app. If you just don’t want to, then your original vaccine card and your negative test must be shown along with your passport or birth certificate and drivers license.

    Am I missing anything?

  9. We’ve been on deck 6 on several cruises. You just have to know what’s below you. If it’s something like the sushi bar or even the steakhouse, it’s not noisy at all. With so much entertainment going on in the lobby these days, I wouldn’t pick a room close to it, no matter what deck as the sound carries.

  10. I guess I’ll never understand the mentality to be the first on board! Why deal with all that unnecessary aggravation and sitting in the terminal waiting to board for no telling how long! We always choose 12-12:30 and are usually on board within 20 to 30 minutes of arrival time. Not nearly the hassle and stress!
