Thanks everyone, I won't give up yet then :) All the replies sound like there is hope remaining... and we are 100% happy with the large balcony we already paid for. So it'd just be a nice little bump if we did get it. If not, more $ in our pockets lol.
Thanks again!

I called NCL and asked the same question regarding my bid. I was told there may be reserved inventory - I hope so, but if there is a very limited opportunity I am not sure my bid was strong enough to beat out many others.
Mine wasn't either. Sigh. I mean I'm ok regardless. It's still letting me modify my bid though. which is odd! All I can pick from ever was haven.... so why! Lol
-
Ok so I did a mock booking looking for how many of the rooms we tried to upgrade to were still left.
NONE
Not one haven is possible to bid on. Some say sold out, some say n/a. The two we bid on say sold out.
Does this mean we wont' have our bids accepted?
Sailing in 26 days so not exactly near that yet.

The routes on getaway, which are meant to be identical on breakAway are fairly wide. You can avoid the rope only sections with some ease and go on areas that are 2x4 width or larger. I didn't like the rope rope part myself.
-
We too are a family of four, we haven't been on Breakaway but will be soon. We've done Getaway though which is pretty much identical.
My two ten year olds LOVE splash. They were upset when we would take them out. As others have said, I'd make the older try it. I'm sure in many ways it sounds lame but there will be other kids there thinking the same thing. It's a hangout spot.
We did do pay for shows, we did Illusinarium and Teppanyaki on the Getaway and we have booked out Cirque and Teppanyaki again on this one. As well this time we have Moderno for Hubs & I. He's turning 40 on the ship and a few days before sailing is our 20 year anniversary. That total is $520 Canadian funds. It's probably within your budget if you wanted to do something extra.

Don't think our offers are looking very good, did a mock up of new booking and one room says 'not available' and the other has literally only one room to chose!

We are behind you a bit,
Sailing 23 of Oct but I have been reading and watching videos and it looks good in Bahamas's so far.

Out of curiosity, mainly because it forces us to input it- did you not have to enter a passport # when you booked your trip? Perhaps it's because we are currently in Canada- that we had to. We never cruised when my husband held green card status in the US. We didn't travel outside the US for many years then (6) and we had to file 2x (we moved and they did not get update of address as they moved our file at same time to another location so his first application was considered abandoned since he missed his interview lol). Even after all was said and done we never did travel to anywhere but within North America- til we cruised last year and again that was as Canadians x3 and myself who was not yet naturalized.
So i guess, I'm wondering if US bookings don't require a passport while booking?

There also is no rock wall on the Escape where there is on the Breakaway/Getaway. This ended up being the deal breaker for us when rebooking, we've been on Getaway and while Breakaway is practically it's twin with different colours, my daughter freaked out on the ropes and we wanted to ensure she had a choice.
Snow Room on Escape VS Ice Bar on Breakaway/Getaway.
Escape has two planks on the ropes course Breakaway & Getawa only one.
I don't know if the Escape has the Spider Mountain and Bounce ? but that might be a difference too.
Entertainment and dining as PP mentioned.
-
We bid min on two havens. I doubt we will get them, but worth trying.
-
Doesn't that incur a 3% fee?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It does, and I didn't see the pp talk about that either, sorry.
For us, it was well worth it to not have to deal with international currency issues.
-
We are going on same itinerary a few weeks later. We haven't yet booked our excursion but we only have one intended for GSC. We will stay on board the rest of ports. We have booked out our shows/dining.
-
We prepurchased onboard credit last cruise, and will again this one - and then cashed it out at the casino. This was especially nice since we could pay in CAN funds then too.
-
We used Tri Rail last time we stayed in Miami and cruised out of FLL. It was $5 a person for the train portion and the bus from the airport to train was free.
-
We are Canadian, got email, out bid is in CAN funds.
-
We did it on the getaway and we enjoyed it, we were the only ones though in there. The bartender didn't stick to the 2 drinks, so like JC said, your paying for the experience.
-
I believe that you can get a cabana if only person is present, however there are no cabanas on the Escape... Only the Breakaway and Getaway...
Thanks! I'm sailing Breakaway. We may just mix up things and all go to be safe - one of us was going to hit up Splash for our kids and the other go for the Cabana... Thanks again!
-
1 number per person so yes your husband needs to be there to get his own.
They will not give you one for him.
Is this true if you only want a cabana? Do both have to go?
Thanks!

My kids, though older than your daughter loved Splash Academy when we sailed. They are looking forward to the next trip because they know it has SA.
-
Hi, I'm hoping that someone might have a copy of the dolphins splash academy for the breakaway sailing that includes port canaveral, great stirrup cat and Nassau?
Our last time our kids missed a chunk of the carnival training and I want to make sure I don't book family things during that.
Thanks! :D
-
Bugger, though I guess we just saved some money then, lol!
-
that is when they had it on our BA sailing last month. It was wonderful, fun and I would do it again in a second. Enjoy it!!!!! We were on the same itinerary you are referring to
Bugger - I can't really think the kids would goto this? They are only 10.... thoughts?
-
Sorry wine lovers musical and splash academy
Anyone done the port canaveral/great stirrup cay/Nassau sailing? Should have said that was the one we are on
-
:confused:hi all, doing research for our upcoming cruise and it appears that WLM is only on the day before disembarkation and it is also during at time there is no splash academy open.
We are sailing the breakaway... the dailies I have found show it on that last full day at 12:30.
Anyone have info/conflicting info to share?
Wanted to do this with hubby and I could care less which day- it's the lack of SA that stinks.
Thanks!
