  1. I have been on the Allure twice and Oasis once. They operate the same way. If there is a crowd, there will be a small line outside the windjammer and they will escort you to a table. In my 21 nights on Oasis class so far, I may have spent a grand total of 20 minutes waiting and that's probably an over exaggeration.

I never understand why people say these ships are crowded. I honestly think that if someone has to wait in line behind one person they will complain about the crowd. Have a positive attitude and you will see how short the wait times actually are on those ships.

  2. I have noticed that one of these threads comes up every month.

Personally I couldn't care less what someone wears to dinner. It's their vacation. I need to wear a uniform every working day of my life and on my "off days" I need to wear a suit for half of them due to other work commitments. If I am on vacation I want to wear shorts. The first time I went on a cruise on the Allure I never even brought pants because I knew I wouldn't need them in such hot temperatures. I didn't realize there was a dress code. Anyway, I never got told to go back and change, and if I was told, I wouldn't have had anything to change in to.

If you're on vacation, enjoy it. I would hate to live a lifestyle where the appearance of other people has any affect on my enjoyment of dinner. If I ever saw someone turned away for their appearance (even if I didn't know the person), I would immediately go to Guest Services and revoke all of my pre-paid tips.

  3. I always wonder what the people who say, "The food was awful" normally eat when they are at home.

The food is awesome, honestly. The MDR is great. I am an EXTREMELY picky eater, and I have no trouble finding things to eat. I just mix and match different meals so that I get enough food. I always cruise in groups and I have never had anyone that complained about the food. Sure some people didn't like an option here or there, but that was to be expected when you order 3-4 appetizers/main meals/desserts just so you could try everything on the menu.

I go on cruises for the abundance of food on them. If the food wasn't amazing then I wouldn't keep going back.

  4. They are delicious. In the grand scheme of things the 3$ fee (or slightly less I believe) was unnoticeable when I consider that my vacation costs me thousands. Some people spend hundreds on alcohol and I spend 0$ on that, so the scatter cupcake here or there doesn't affect me.

  5. This may have been answered already, however, if I purchase On Board Credit, how do I go about using it on the ship? Typically when I cruise I just give them my VISA when I board. Would I just use cash in this case?

Also, if I have money left over from my on board credit at the end of the cruise, can I have it returned?

  6. I will post my review in a couple of days with some pictures of "our spot". It is aft by the jogging track. You can get quite a bit of shade there, depending on the time of day. You can access the area down a set of stairs from the Boardwalk, or walk out the door on Deck 5 by the Campagne bar, follow the jogging track aft, and you will see several chairs back there. We are not home yet, so I cannot post my pictures. I will try to remember to post one here when we get back.

    We also LOVED Oasis!

This is EXACTLY the same spot that myself and my girlfriend like to go. After 3 cruises, I have found that this is the best spot to sit as soon as we re-board the ship after coming back from the board. There's something about watching the tail-wake (not sure if this is the correct term) that I love when we sail away. Lean back in your lounge chair, kick your feet up onto the rails (take your sandals off first!!) and relax!

  7. I don't know how you Canadians do it! Even a magazine subscription costs three times the amount for you. Crazy. I have been to Canada, I get it, it is beautiful, but I live in Florida. What are the perks for you? It is confusing, why do you live there? I am serious...there must be perks that we don't have, right?

I live here because I was born here. That's essentially it! There are the obvious perks to living in Canada, however, I wouldn't want to entertain a political debate on a cruise forum.

That being said, I love Florida and I go there every year. Honestly if I could keep the same job/salary that I have here and move to Florida, I probably would. The cost of living is about half as much as where I am, so I would be rolling in disposable income! Perhaps when I retire I'll buy a condo down there, but I'm only 29 so I have a lot of time for that yet.

  8. I booked my B2B for July in Canadian dollars. Only 10% added on to the US price. I added onboard credits using Canadian dollars as well. $499US cost me $550CAD. Most people have found that $499 is the most you can do at one time without RCCL actually seeing your credit card

How can I add onboard credits to my cruise? This would be a cheap way for me to get American Money on the ship.

  9. Also, are all shows reservation-based? In other words, are there any shows not listed in the Entertainment reservation system? I ask because I've read some reviews where people mention a family-friendly comedy show (not in the comedy club, but in the main theater), but I don't see anything like that in the online reservations.

    Thanks!

-There is a second Aquatheatre show which is considered the family show. It's honestly just as good as the regular one. It's a must see if you like diving.

-There is a second Comedy show. It is supposed to be a family friendly one. It was on the final night of my cruise (I was on April 25th). This one was actually more funny than the smaller venue but I imagine that is totally dependent on the comedians they have.

    - The love and Marriage came which was on Monday night at around 10:30 or 11:30. It's one of my favorite parts of cruising.

    - The belly flop and sexiest man competitions. These are on the sea days in the afternoon.

  10. Is there a height restriction? Last cruise I was on there were some pretty small kids on it.

Honestly, this may sound harsh and I don't mean to be, but if you have to worry about getting injured on every little thing, you might as well just stay in your home. The flowrider is pretty much the most popular thing on the ship for 10 year olds. I can't imagine ever telling a child that they can't experience it for fear of getting hurt.

I've done it several times and have wiped out a lot. The worst I have gotten was a scrape from the part toward the back. You just need to know how to fall (something I learned playing sports and doing "dangerous" things as a kid).

  11. A couple small things like not having self serve laundry, sel serve kiosk to check your account status, etc...but those

What do you mean by not having a self serve kiosk to check your account status? On the Oasis class you can just check your account status on the TV in your room. Is it not the same on the Enchantment?
