If I purchase a bottle of liquor through the gifts and gear before boarding for use in our cabin, can I carry on a few small cans or bottles of lets say cranberry juice or tonic....??

The wife found a great deal for the three nighter to Ensenada Oct. 17th....a balcony for $250 including a $100 dollar PER PERSON (not stateroom) on board credit.....wow. Is there a smoking lounge on the Golden like there was on the Sappire last March....?? Anything we need to be aware of about the Golden.....?? We sure love their "California Coastals" and the great deals they have.....:)

Over the years I've learned about things like beach massages at the Krysal resort in PV for $75 bucks to two of us......so many tips and information I could not even try to keep track of. As they say "informaiton is power".....thanks to all. I also use Trip Advisor religously for land travel.:)

Has anyone got a report on the RCI "Fast Cat 2 Island snorkel and beach getaway" excursion.....?? Curious if we did OK or not....just booked it.....3 couples first time here.....:)thanks

Group of three couples first time here sailing on Oasis in November....can we get any ideas of the best snorkelling (sailing) tours in St. Thomas/St. John that are offered by RCI....?? We've noticed that many require seperate charge for a fairy transport ....?? We appreciate any help.....thanks
-
So this cruise in November on the Oasis will make the wife and myself "Diamond" members.....not sure what that means.....?? Two other couples sailing with us will not be......what can we expect different from them.....??
-
Well, that's how I found out dining reservations were open....on our roll call. I asked this question there as well......maybe it's just the upcharge venues right now. Thanks:)

We are sailing Nov. 15th on Oasis and dining reservations just opened up this week.....I just got on and attemted to reserve for our group of 6 and the only restaurants that come up are the "upcharge" restaurants. So I thought we could place a reservation for my time dining for the first night on line....?? Am I mistaken.....?? If I can't, then I guess we have to get to the dining venue once on board or call to reserve that first night....?? Thanks for your help......:)

We are sailing on Oasis right after it's dry dock in October.....I've noticed that the deck plans have dates indicating that there will be some changes after the dry dock. Has anyone heard just what they plan on doing.....?? We've never been on her, I would assume freshen up some carpets/furniture maybe, I've heard they've had issues with propulsion so I assume that will be addressed. Thanks for any information you may know.:)

Small things make a big difference ....they have carved butter in dishes for dining, and they clean the linen table cloth with the crumb blade. RCI uses foil paper wrapped butter and does not clean table of crumbs after your meal. Little things like that make you feel it's more upscale and are nice while on vacation.

I'll have to try from the home computer....thanks

Well, maybe I'm doing something wrong....but when I get to the page it has a drop down to pick the day of the cruise or the port....I choose the one I want, it has "intrests" and number in group and other things to narrow the search....but nowhere do I see a "search excursions" button.....there is just this running circle thing in the middle of the page that keeps turning, but nothing ever loads. I seem to be "dead in the water" on this.

Our cruise is in November and I've been working on trying to book our little group of 3 couples. The new "cruise planner" is difficult at best to work with......and every show I've managed to book so far on the receipt shows them all as cancelled.....but they are listed.

Our first time in Caribbean Oasis cruise in November is only in port from 8am and sets sail at 2pm.....with only this much time in port, what would you folks who have been there many times recommend that 3 newbie couples do....?? Thanks for your help.....:)

The Hotel Maya or the Marriott Residence Inn are the closest

My wife and I love to cruise, we have not done all that many of them, and used Carnival, RCI and Princess so far. We still work and consider ourselves blessed to be able to vacation like this. Gosh, we're on a cruise....how bad can it be.....everyone works so hard for us. I know the Sapphire is going through some changes and not everything is perfect, but we choose to look at all the great things, and we're also greatful we're healthy enough to be able to continue to work so we can afford to do this. I just wrote my review so it should get out there in a few days.....thanks to all.....
-
We had no issues with our TV.....however did not use all of the features
-
Well, we just got off the Sapphire this morning at 8am, I'm here at work lunch time and reading some terribly nasty recent reviews by folks just off her prior to us. I find it troubling that folks must be so quick to look at what they "expect" to have instead of what they "do have". We were so blessed to have a crew that worked hard for us, fed us gourmet food, cleaned after us everywhere.....it's a well oiled machine, kudos to all her crew and staff. Our weather was incredible, not a marine layer to be seen, Santa Barbara was great.....sea day was sunny and warm, and Ensenada was very windy but nice. My review will be posted in a few days, but in the mean time please believe that Princess still delivers.....thanks to all.....:)

We're leaving Thursday on the Sapphire 4 day coastal cruise.....now I know to put our wine and a few mixers/juice in our carry ons.....however, we purchased a small 12pack of 8oz. plastic bottles of water which is really too small to slap a luggage tag on it, so it fits nicely into our checked bag. I guess we're risking them holding this bag and it getting to our cabin late.....but I really don't want to haul it in our carry on, so what do you think....?? Maybe pack some dinner clothes in the "clean bag" in case it gets there after dinner.....??
-
So the wife and I leave Thursday on the Sapphire 4 day coastal and we're taking 2 bottles of wine and a can or two of tonic and small bottle of cranberry juice for mixers.....we paid to have a small bottle of vodka in our room. My question is this....my wife wants to pack these in our checked luggage, but I think it will just delay arrival of said luggage to our room if they see and check out what it is. I say we should carry it on in our carry on backpack/bags. What is correct.....?? Thanks
-
We're on the 03/28 sailing and certainly hope we get to Santa Barbara as well......I'm amazed that storm could have done so much damage to the peir area..... Maybe they're taking the opportunity to upgrade some things while fixing the damage.

I can tell you when our family cruised in 2005 there were services on Easter Sunday in one of the lounges.
-
thank you....we purchased the alchohol through Princess.....just werent sure about what we could carry on.....
-
We purchased a small bottle of liquor for in cabin on our 4 night coastal next month....are we able to carry on a few cans of tonic or sodas....?? We heard we can carry on 2 bottles of wine, but not sure how they feel about cans of juice/soda/mixers.....?? Thanks to all who know....

We booked our first cruise as I was researching a trip to Hawaii for the family (of five including grandma).....airfaire alone was going to be $3500 bucks in 2003....so we booked two cabins (balcony and inside across the hall) on Princess Diamond for $4700 bucks. Our boys were 10yrs at the time and everyone had the best vacation ever.....even during "spring break"....as I remember there were around 800 kids on board. That does not bother you when you own two of them.....:)
