  1. The Steak house onboard Panorama, a 2 inch filet Mignon over cooked, a small Lobster the size of a shrimp. Compare the portions with the Lime, it looks big but it’s not, I had to Zoom in for that shot.

This isn’t like the past. Their good looking cheese cake had Zero Flavor, I took a small tiny bite to see what my wife was taking about, now I’m thinking we got Covid because there was NO taste.

We went up to the Blue Java Cafe and tried their Cheesecake and it was real. Better cheesecake there then at the freaking Steakhouse.

I don't think I would label the food as subpar.  I know what I am getting when I get onboard. I know I'm not getting a Michelin Star experience.  I enjoy the food because I know that's exactly what I paid for.

The way I look at it is this.  If I took my family of 6 out to eat at a local chain restaurant for 3 meals per day for 7 days, I'd be paying $2000+.  Or I can pay a little more and be on a ship in the Caribbean.  That's my justification for the food not being mind blowing.  I eat it.  My kids enjoy it.

The point with paying $2000.00 for the week with your family is you have the choice to go to many types of restaurants and have good quality foods, and not forced to eat dog food onboard.

Yes you can find something to eat as I did even on a restricted diet but the MDR has gone down big time, 27 cruises since 1983 so I’ve seen the changes.

  3. Seen lots of videos from cruisers about MSC, more negative reviews on their foods then positives, on top of that good luck getting a refund on issues, they told one vlogger that his 750.00 would be refunded in 3 months or they can give him 750.00 OBC, it was his money, he just booked and they messed up that booking. So plenty of bad reviews on MSC, I would never give them a chance.

Here is a picture of your Carnivals pizza. Not for me.

I can’t eat pizza anymore but I always liked a semi Burnt pizza, From what I heard, Panorama pizza wasn’t as good but I always saw a line, some people will eat Pizza because it’s there. Coming from Brooklyn NY, you have something to compare it with.

hi smelly 😁. from your most recent cruise(s) what did you do to stay healthy? was it mostly being good about wearing your mask (everywhere), washing hands a lot, hand sanitizing or did you go even beyond that? i ask because we're leaving sunday on the legend. thanks

Just posted a long reply to this and this crappy website lost it, here’s for a second time because it’s important.

Use N95 Masks, I know they look stupid but you can wear a nice black cloth mask over it.

Dont get into a full elevator, wait for the next one or take the stairs.

Wash your hands and keep them away from your face.

Ship is now at full capacity, 4000 passengers on my last cruise last week, the comedy show was jammed pack so I just left, you can see the same acts on YouTube.

This is all I did on my 3 cruise and didn’t get sick.

  6. Blue Iguana Mexican bar was good also, no sugars added in their chicken nor beef and you can have it like a salad there with no tortillas, they also have sour cream and guacamole, but the quac wasn’t as good.

Guys Burgers I would have 2 cheese Pattie’s over their shredded lettuce with no sauce, the mushrooms and the grilled onions was also a great tasty addition. No buns on all 3 cruises I only had this once a cruise.

Nothing at the buffet I could eat because it was all starchy foods or foods with some type of sugary sauce like teriyaki, if you ask for ribs without the sauce they can go back to the kitchen and get you what you want.

Same at the outside Pigs & Anchor buffet, you can request the pulled pork without the BBQ sauce and this was open on sea days only for lunch.

The buffet did have an Omelette station in the morning and you can also orders eggs there any style as well, sunny side up etc. the lines moved pretty fast there. But for the most part hardly anything keto there so I stayed away.

  7. Keto review onboard Panorama 3 times, first the sugarfree cakes were not sugar free, the cake was made with wheat flour and not with almond or coconut flours, they use Splenda (sucralose) instead of stevia, Splenda will spike most diabetics so if you’re reversing diabetes stay away from those cakes at the buffet.

brunch alway at the Vista restaurant for breakfast in the mornings where I would have my omelette (cheddar, spinach, bacon) and 2 over medium, side of extra bacon.

For Lunch if I was hungry, Mongolian Wok, people forgot this place is open every day at noon. The food is amazing. I only have the chicken with zucchini & broccoli and I have them cook it in butter.

Salad bar up on Serenity deck 15 was also very good.

At the MDR, mostly everything I had to Sub out, like Potatoes, Carrots, Tomato sauce and corn. On some cruises the waiter would work with me and bring me a side of broccoli, on other cruises I just removed the sides and just had the steak, chicken or salmon but from the others at the table the food wasn’t as good as years back.

Steakhouse onboard Panorama was a total disappointment, the food was not only bad but they kept Messing up my order, the Surf & Turf was a 2 inch Filet Mignon and a lobster no bigger then a shrimp. Also their so called big slice of cheesecake has Zero Flavor, I had to try just a tiny corner and she was right, I thought we had Covid because of no taste.

after we headed to the coffee shop Blue Java Cafe were she purchased a slice of cheesecake there is she was like Wow that was cheesecake, I tried a tiny piece and it did have an amazing cheesecake flavor, then I spit it out.

Its unfortunate that Carnival’s MDR is so boring and tasteless. And on these 3 cruises the food quality didn’t improve, even after submitting the surveys.

Im a Platinum guest member and almost Diamond on Carnival and we have a Miracle, Conquest and Magic cruise booked for 2022 but after that it’s time to try NCL & Celebrity, they say their food is way better.

There is NO propulsion issue look the the map on your tv the ship can go 21.5 knots which is the normal speed for a ship. Carnival is giving that  BS excuse for months now.

I agree also, 3 trips on Panorama and I’ve seen as high as 22.8 knots so they seem to be doing just fine. No issues with Masks everyone is happy and happy to comply with these rules, Panorama as done an amazing job in enforcing these rules. This 3rd trip when I was on I wore my N95 mask and my black cloth mask over it.  No issues as of today.

  9. As I posted in the Covid thread, I’ve used the Abbott BinaxNow AG kit twice now for my Nov & Dec cruises also use the OTC ones after a few days of arriving from my cruises, the eMed call was easy and went with no issues at all.

I used a new HP laptop with a crappy camera which shows a grainy picture but clear enough to see everything.

Its too had you’re having a tough time, like someone mentioned, more lighting helps, I turn on all lights and open up the window blinds.

Cunard and P&O two carnival companies already require the booster.

It’s going to happen here in the US sooner or later. Just off my cruise so I will give it some time before I know for a fact I’m not infected. So far 3 days since I left the cruise terminal and I’m still fine. Probably after 7 days I will get my booster. I got to say that those N95 masks really do the job.

Sailing in 6 days but Carnival recommends booster 7 days prior to travel.  Anyone know why?  Thinking of getting mine tomorrow.

It’s a strong recommendation from the CDC, it is Not required for cruise travel (Yet)

Fred, good to see you posting again 👍. Buffets on Carnival ships as of this posting are self-serving. Exception, the horrid bacon police.

Ok big tip here guys, I had Bacon every day for brunch, that’s where they hid the bacon. LoL

Thanks BasicSailor, it’s good to be back as I started to cruise again.
