  1. If you go to my Spirit 10th - 18th August roll call thread, I posted all of my meals and they all included broccoli and butters. Also they probably have me on file because the dessert chef made me keto low carb desserts with Stevia and not Sucralose (Splenda) these options with Stevia did not spike my sugars, those with Sucralose (Splenda) will spike me bad.

Note: that they are now using Equal in their desserts which is even worst with Maltodextrin, Dextrose and Aspartame, so those with Neuropathy issues, stay away from their Sugar Free desserts in the buffet, those will only cause more issues for diabetics and possibly flare up your neuropathy pains.

If you're a new cruiser, isn't it 14 days to check in before embarkation?  I know Platinum is 16 days out.

Could be 14, I recall my friend was 10 days twice. Hopefully some can give me a solid answer.

    Thanks

  3. Correct, you can have a 10 - 10:30am boarding time but the doors won’t open till 11am - 11:30am it all depends on, A. The ship came in early and passengers have disembarked and B. Every cruise terminal is different, their embarkation policies differ from port to port.

If you’re a new cruiser then expect to start checking in online 10 days prior to boarding, if Platinum/Diamond then 16 days prior to boarding.

when it’s time to check in, you can skip most of the questions to get to your boarding appointment time, then you can go back and answer the other questions.

online check-in at 9pm PST on the 11th day prior to boarding or Midnight EST on the 10th day prior to boarding.

  4. It’s says your Muster station right on the boarding pass contract paper you print out. So no need to ask anyone nor get your sail & sign card scanned.

Show them your paper and they will direct you, once at the station they check you in and you see how to Don a life jacket and away you go.

Get it done as soon as you board, don’t be that person that they keep calling over the loud speaker.

been cruising with norwegian a lot lately and i noticed the main dinning room menus are the same and never was different. the only dinning room with a menu difference is with the specialty dinning places like the italain, and steakhouse

That is also correct on Royal ships, never seen a difference menu in Different MDR on Royal, I think she is getting the Specialty dining confused with MDR.

Haven't cruised since pre-covid, so not sure how this all works. If we're driving to port (Charleston), do we use this Verifly app for our vaccination cards? Since we won;t need to deal with testing, if we can jsut show the cards when we check in, I'm thinking that might be the easiest?

Yes, whether you fly, drive or walk, you should fill out VeriFLY, the other method of checking papers is a lot slower now. They take you over to the side and beat you with a stick, quite embarrassing.

Not too crazy about the 2-day early thing.  Partly because I go to bed early and have to set my alarm for midnight to check in.

We arrived at PC for Mardi Gras within 5 minutes of our scheduled early time and was at the BACK of the huge room. We couldn’t hear them announce the group numbers at all. It was a zoo.  And this was in January, during REALLY low capacity. Once we were able to see the suite people go, we moved about 10 feet closer.

We are going again in a month and in December, and I hope they’ve improved things a little. I can only imagine what full capacity will be like.

Now that they are changing Covid protocols, maybe D&P will be able to go in the little  lounge?  😁. I thought that was the reason they used previously to keep people separated.  🤷‍♀️

I got to deal with that mess this November for Magic and then a B2B on Mardi Gras Nov 23.

Seattle was a surprise, they even had porters this time. Was a breeze checking in with the ArriveCAN & VeriFLY, got onboard by 11:05am.

Where you able to sign up for this before the cruise or on embarking

Have to wait till the next day at 8am, first you need to set the clock one hour back the night before and get in line early, I got there at 7am and there was already 15 people waiting already. Look for the Soul Play post.

  9. My point is that Platinum/Diamond always gets priority shuttle service period. Whether 15 minutes or 2 hours. It’s a perk that I always use. Of course it’s not offered all day, but you are still off the ship first, this helps for when you have private non-Carnival tours set up as I do today.
