  1. We’ve spent months dealing with horrible fires destroying thousands of homes along the West Coast. I’ve had players at work lose their homes, friends lose homes and cars and everything. Was very happy that one two players who lost homes last month actually won cruises we were giving away. They are thrilled and ready for a break. They know we also have cruises booked and as they said, you never know when it’s your turn so go enjoy and enjoy your life, yes the whole thing sucked and will for a while but not going on vacation isn’t going to help them.

  2. Know this is in effect and already complained twice. We’ll be opening them up in our room and carrying glasses to dinner. We got a free bottle of wine for getting a Central Park balcony. Will be asking them there corkage fee policy on that one. Was told they would loan us a corkscrew for the cabin, but I am bringing my own.

Bottles given by a ta or by the ship, or purchased on board or through the online gift option are not subject to the corkage fee.

  3. It’s $15, and very hit and miss. Table mates last fall were charged, others in March were not. From what the staff said on Harmony they are reluctant to charge as most guests then go complain to supervisors and it comes back in them. When sorry it should never come back on the staff they are simply doing their job. I understood when it was first re introduced, but it has been over a year now and is clearly posted on the site. If you don’t want to pay it then pour it in your cabin, but don’t take a bottle knowing there is a charge and then complain to staff until the charge is removed.

  4. I don't think that that is why he mentioned being Diamond. That was just a "they don't value loyal customers" comment, I believe.

OP’s final paragraph states they are Diamond and have been allowed to use Coastal kitchen on other ships as Diamond.

That is why I pointed out that’s not a standard practice, not that I misread what they were saying.

  5. Diamond status as a rule doesn’t give you access to Coastal Kitchen, they may make an exception but it is for suite guests and Pinnacles.

If it was a perk you were so concerned about you should have booked two JR suites. The perk is for those staying in a suite and with limited seating people who have paid that price deserve to be able to dine there and not be displaced by non suite guests of guests. There are rules in place for a reason, it’s a special venue for guests that have paid for it. No different than non diamond friends of Diamond and above aren’t allowed in the Diamond lounge, or jr suites aren’t allowed on the suite deck or suite lounge.

  6. Wonderland, favorite was the fish entree. And the “world” dessert.

Chops- mushroom soup, black peppered bacon and the filet mignon

Jamie’s- enjoyed several things. Truffle tagliatelle, Pavlov and lemon meringue cheesecake were the best. Did not like the risotto tasted like spaghetti o’s

Izumi- nigiri assortment. Did not enjoy hibachi was just too salty for us.

150- duck confit, tenderloin for two and chocolate bourbon tart.

Sabor- we avoid allergic to avocado to much risk of cross contamination there.

    Vintages- meat plank from Jamie’s

  7. Just wondering...why can't you just go to Labadee and enjoy the beach, lunch, and sun and leave the wifi on the ship???

God forbid we let people enjoy their vacations how they want to. Some spend hours in the buffet, some spend hours in the casino, some never leave their cabin, some sit at the pub and play card games for hours. So she wants to have connection- WHO CARES?

  8. That sounds exactly like the Yorkie on Anthem last July. Owner pushed her all around the ship in a stroller with full outfits every day.

There was a couple on a FB page posting pictures of their cruise last week, with the little yorkie in his tux collar/bow tie and other outfits. Sorry that screams “I’m a toy not a service animal”

  9. On Grandeur there was a man who needed full cream for his coffee in order avoid carbs. Once the wait staff understood what he wanted they brought a small pitcher to him every morning. Regarding the powdered cream from Amazon — any recommendations as to which brand to buy?

I like Hoosier hill farm and I take the Splenda naturals.

  10. The only service/guide dogs that should be permitted onboard a cruise ship, an airplane, a train, a bus, in a restaurant, a supermarket & so on; should only be service/guide dogs for the blind.. That's it!!

I’ll make sure to tell me 25 year old deaf daughter that her service dog is unimportant- she doesn’t need to know when there’s an emergency signal and the cheap battery powered warning lights in a hotel don’t work. I’m all for cracking down on fake ones and support everything. But service dogs are essential for many others other than just blind.

  11. I actually had a woman comment about me riding an elevator 3 floors on our Harmony trip last week. Yes I look able bodied - and generally I am. I work out, I eat right all that stuff. I also had an emergency hysterectomy 4 weeks ago and the agreement with my dr to go on the trip was no steps. So yeah rather than cancelling a group trip booked 14 months ago I took the elevator and promptly told the woman she could shove it. Don’t judge a book by the cover you have no idea what able bodied appearing passengers could be dealing with.

  12. Go to diet doctor (put those two words together and add a dot com) Great website with lots of recipes, and you can do so much and get so many of the recipes without joining. I have TONS of the recipes copied. GREAT SITE and information.

Ruled by me dot com is also a great site to get started. I started 3 months ago to help with hormones and anemia. My iron levels are up, I’m down 22 pounds (only 15 left to go) but more importantly I feel a lot better.

  13. They do, they are Sucralose based - at least they were a few months ago. I know some people doing Keto still use Sucralose, I don’t so I avoided them. Also, may have to ask nicely to get hwc if you use it. They didn’t have it at the coffee shop on Freedom, I talked the a supervisor and she had it there the next day. I take my own stevia or Splenda naturals as the options are regular Splenda which the additional ingredients can spike blood sugar in some, or pink and blue crap.

  14. People often lie at those shows.

No? They lie? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] we were at one and they were doing the bra sizes. Ok I work out a lot, I wear a 34 D and a size 6/8 dress. This woman’s husband says she wears a 42DD. She comes out and I’m in no way judging I don’t care if you’re a size 8 or 50. But she is about 225 and claims to wear a 32 B. My 95 pound daughter couldn’t fit into a 32b

  15. We were on another cruise line a few years back, it happened to be their “bloggers” cruise. We’ve run in to groups on most cruises and most of the time they are fun.

This group was pushy and entitled.

One morning we’d gone down to grab coffee. I had been in line for close to 10 minutes and was next up. This lovely elderly lady (sarcasm) walks up in front of me, holds her blogger group badge up to my face and tells me she is with the group and she has a lecture to get to do she needs to order her coffee. The guy behind the counter sees the whole thing and proceeds to ask me my order, I start to tell him. The lady takes her cane snacks it in to my leg and tells me she told me she was with the bloggers group and had to order! I’ve obviously not had coffee at this point, I’m also Irish so the temper came out. I told her I didn’t care if she was the f’ing Captains wife she could wait in the damn line just loud every one else. If her lecture was so important her highness should have gotten up earlier to get her damn coffee and if she touched me again I’d report her for assault. The people behind me then chimed in that they were witnesses and she wasn’t cutting in front of them. She called me a bitch and stormed off [emoji23]
