  1. Last spring we were on Carnival and it was their "bloggers" cruise so all of their bloggers followers. One morning I'd gotten up to get coffee had waited 10 minutes in line and I'm now next in line to order. This little elderly lady, walks up in front of me and says "I need my coffee, I have a lecture to attend I DO not have time to wait, I'm with the BLOGGER GROUP!" And shoves her badge up for me to see, I proceed to move up and start placing my order- she took her cane hit my leg with it and held it there and said " I SAID I NEED TO GET TO MY LECTURE YOU CAN WAIT!" I looked at her told her I didn't care where she needed to go, every one of us had some where to go we all came and waited in line and if she touched me one more time with her cane or any thing else I'd be reporting her for assault! Placed my order, the lady behind me looks at the woman and says "don't even think about it you can wait like everyone else- I will report you if you dare step in front of me!"

  2. In January we were on the Oasis and chose to do self assist. We got up extra early and we were in line by 5:45am. There were already at least 50 people ahead of us and by 6:15 the line stretched way past us and all the way into the dining room

The place in line where we were waiting was right next to a large column and as we stood there a man came off the elevator with his luggage and backpack and proceeded to place them up against this column and then walked away.

Sure enough.....when the line began to move at 6:45 he strolled up to the column, picked up stuff, broke in line ahead of us and walked out.

Made me so angry....but I am sure he must do this all the time because it sure didn't bother him!!

We were on Oasis October 2015, well it was the sailing the jumped overboard and then fell off the lifeboat. We were down waiting in line for self assist at 6am. We ended up being delayed due to the stopping and searching for the guy. So we stood in line for nearly an hour. We were right by the entrance dining at the hall - so not inside the waiting area. We start moving get up to the shop right where you turn to scan your sea pass and this lovely woman tries to jump in! Oh people went off on her- a crew member actually stopped her and told her that these people had been in line for over an hour and she if needed to find the back of the line he would escort her there!

  3. So if I want to buy a drink for my wife and I bought the package shouldn't a drink that I want to buy for my wife be the cost of a drink to me and hence charged to my package? Or do I have to insist they charge it separately? Silly.

No it shouldn't be charged to your package- it's not a drink for you. You sign /click a box stating you have read the terms of the package which is "no sharing". "Buying" a drink under your package for someone else is sharing. They can- and we've seen them do it- revoke your package and not refund you for the remaining days

  4. I

    The

Basic recipe is muddled lime and sugar with Cachaç which I'm lead to believe is a brazillian rum.

Yes, basically Brazilian rum- it's made with fermented sugar cane juice rather than molasses or sugar biproduct aka left over. It usually has a cleaner taste

  5. A Caipirinha is Brazil's national drink. I tried one on a recent cruise and couldn't drink it. Tasted nasty. I was in Brazil a couple of months ago though and tried one again there and became hooked. I had to bring some Cachaca home with me. I don't know if the drink that I had on the cruise was made from cheap Cachaca, was made poorly, or just was an acquired taste. When made well they are very refreshing.

Now I'm trying to remember what brand they used on board. I love them we used to have a Brazilian restaurant by us and they were wonderful. I have a few bottles of cachaca at home. It's fun to try them with different fruits- acia is popular as is raspberry

  6. We booked and attended the Dec. 18 Oasis party. It was really a waste of money. Only about 20 people attended and it only lasted about an hour. Have heard of other sailings with better attendance and lots of fun. They offered as many drinks as one cared to consume and had some food which looked leftover from happy hour. The leaders had folks play some stupid games and the band only played for a short time. What should have been a hoot was a bust, in our opinion.

Yeah, like I said our first ones were fun. The one this past October was horrible. Staff just didn't care. After 20 minutes they did "photo op" time which was an hour of a chair and selfies and no band. Band came back up, and the crew gave their names and it was over. Saw the bar servers one time in the entire time. No costume contest this trip. Actually sent a complaint in after this one it was so bad

  7. Since Oasis moved to Port Can. She sails Sunday to Sunday as well.

The main differences will be your entertainment on board

Ice shows, Aquatheather aren't dramatically different. Allure has Mama Mia and Oasis has Cats.

Dining there's a few differences Allure has a specialty Brazilian Steakhouse while Oasis has Solarium Bistro (healthier / Mediterranean type food)

So it comes down to if shows don't matter, pick the port that is best for you to fly/drive to and the one that has the itinerary you are wanting the week you want.

  8. Three oasis and one Allure trip and yes there was an omelette on the mdr menu but not where you actually see it get made. four visits to wj in those trips and never saw a single omelette. Others at breakfast with us even says the same thing. Guess we just missed the days they choose to do them. The omelette in Johnny Rockets was horrible- ok if you like cake eggs and cheese you're good to go, otherwise we did not like JR for breakfast at all

  9. Remember, RCCL no longer has just a wine/beer package, only the Deluxe is offered now. So, if he only drinks no more than 6 beers/day, it's probably cheaper to buy them individually vs the Deluxe package.;)

Our last Oasis trip beers were $8 a pop. $8 x 6 is already $48 not including any coffee drinks, sodas or bottled waters. Still easy to go way over the cost of the package

  10. Not if you book Early Saver on Carnival. Carnival will give OBC up until 2 days before cruise if price drops.

Supposedly- until you actually try to do it. Booked a cruise last year with them (and it clearly stated in our paper work that we had up until 48 hours before sailing to call with a lower rate) every lower rate was given an excuse why we didn't qualify. Then when I wanted to upgrade - BY PAYING For and upgrade not only was it going to be the additional $ per person upgrade but at 49 days out they told me we would be charged a $100 per person "change fee" plus the upgrade fee and lose all obc

  11. I completely understand, I just know a lot of people don't realize there is a cut off on how far into the cruise you can purchase. On our ta chat people were wanting to wait until day 8 because they only drink a few those first days and weren't realizing that you can't buy it that far in to the cruise and their "few" was "well we'll probably only have 3 those days" which with paying the higher on board price for ten days then the 4 days buying 3 drinks they'd end up paying more than the same price for the whole week [emoji4]

  12. I was considering buying the Deluxe PKG for my husband the 2nd week of our TA so September, am I reading that if you wait until your on board, you will pay higher then purchasing it prior to your cruise. For 15 days it si coming out to $795. $44.00 X,s 18 % X,s 15 days

Keep in mind ona certain day they stop allowing you to purchase it when on board. On 7 night sailings it's third night they stop selling it. Fir our TA in October we were told by rc it was day 5. So paying $55 on board a day for 14 nights if you buy the last night they offer will be for 10 nights at $64.90(55+ 18) $650. Not all of our first 4 nights are port days, so if we have 2 glasses of wine and a specialty coffee at minimum at dinner we can add another $100 on to that. So at $750 we are just going to end up buying it in advance and enjoy not having a bill at the end
