We are Discovery 1 repositioning cruise, from Malaga to Aquaba -8th Nov (can't wait).

First time on Dreamliner, but only in 'standard seats'.

As neither flight is really long haul, has anyone any idea what the seat pitch will be on the flight.

Wondered if Tui have the ability to 're-stack' the seat positions for shorter Dreamliner flights to cram more in?

I wouldn’t think TUI would move their seats around for these ad hoc cruise flights. Number of seats total would be about 210-250. Been on long haul on their Dreamliners great experience very quiet smooth and pitch and space ok.

Be careful there it's just over 3000 to the usd.

Yep I stand corrected - I normally just pay attention to the sterling conversion as we send money transfers from here. Last time I checked it was 2,000 pesos to the dollar, but current exchange is 3,000 pesos to the dollar.

For the day you’ll be in port just take small dollar denominations and I’d put big purchases on a credit card like the Halifax Clarity card which is free of charge on forex.

We found in columbia some places - for example the museums - would not accept  USD.  But they took credit cards.

Be careful as its about 4000 pesos to the UK pound and they use the US $ symbol.

So if you see something marked as $40,000 I tended to read as 40 USD but its only about £10.

Rule of thumb with Colombian pesos- it’s approx. 4,000 pesos to the pound at the moment or 2,000 pesos to the dollar. So you divide by 4 to get the sterling amount or divide by 2 to get the dollar amount(and get rid of those extra zeros)

Colombia’s currency isn’t dollars however in Cartagena where they get the cruise ships it is an accepted practice with some traders. As said before as long as you know the exchange rate you will know whether you are being ripped off.

Lets just say that there has been complaints from foreigners about some eye watering charges for food, but this mostly happens on the beach.

I'm worried that Explorer's and Celebration's itineraries won't be revealed along with the others on November 8th, because some travel agents mention that ''selected'' cruises of summer 2020 will be revealed.

What I have interpreted is that for the beach programme not all of summer 2020 will be available but a very large majority will be. Where the beds and flying are secured (owned by TUI) this is what is being loaded now with others being launched later. With Marella as the assets (ships and flights) are controlled by Marella/TUI they can launch both these seasons to align better with competitors.

Perhaps what we won’t see launched yet is the themed short break cruise between Newcastle and Southampton, no word on that one for Summer 2020. That’s of course if they continue with that trend after the 80s one this year and the 90s on next year.

  12. Yes there is a change. Marella is doing this to be like other major cruise companies who have Summer 2020 on sale already. This is also the same for the beach TUI business with a dual launch of Winter 19/20 and Summer 20 this November.

Low deposit schemes will now have a 12 week space between initial deposit and the top up deposit instead of the current 10 weeks.

  13. There will be wet and dry docks for Discovery, Dream and Celebration this November.

The kids club branding will be as per the branding on Explorer.

Discovery to get its own Squid& Anchor in its existing Venue space.

Safes will be free of charge on Celebration and Dream from summer 19.

Cuban Fusion renamed as per feedback from customers following the Cuban Confusion moniker.

There is a new itinerary with a partial transit of the Panama Canal included into Gatun Lake.
