  1. Your itinerary looks amazing - makes me rethink sailing Oasis class to see some new places!
  2. Following along! I've only been on Allure and Harmony so I'm very curious about all things Wonder 🤩
  3. Can I just say, on this stressful Thursday at work, these posts have given me a happy escape, thank you for sharing 🤩 Did Kipton Grand Roatan have a day-pass or was access only through the tour company? Looks like an incredible day!
  4. I hadn't heard of that, that's one of my favorite ports. Very sad about the missing gentleman.
  5. I basically spent all my time here on our last cruise, can't wait to be back in Sept with my girls! Thanks for sharing all these pics! And that cake? OMG.
  6. I hope you like your day at Margaritaville! We went last October for the first time and it's a place I'd go back to for sure, really lovely grounds and beach 😀
  7. I read here and there last night, my favorite? They are officially known as THE LATE EIGHT 😆
  8. I think that people who don't cruise or those who tried it once and didn't like it will jump on the bandwagon of, "why would you want to be on a floating city anyway, one more reason not to cruise, blah blah" and they'll comment as such. But for people who cruise regularly, I can't imagine there's too much in the way of support for the decision-making of these individuals and the nightmare press they ultimately created for the cruise line (whether or not it was their fault, they knew the risks). I never understand the "rules for thee, but not for me" mentality of some people, just ick.
  9. This is what I'm doing in Sept with my girlfriends from college (sky class for us). So excited to read about and see the pics from your STAR experience! 🤩
  10. Okay but will you please start a travel blog then -- because I love your reviews 😬
  11. I haven't read through all the responses so apologies if any of this has already been said, just sharing my opinion. We've done both types of excursions: ship-sponsored and independent. Do I relax (much) more when we're on a ship-sponsored excursion? Absolutely, because I know we're still guaranteed to make it back to the ship if anything goes wrong. Does the ship always offer the types of excursions I want to do? Nope, so we find something we'd like to do after much research, reading reviews, etc (i.e., we don't choose excursions that can not get us back within 2-hours of all aboard or are very far from the port as a general rule). What irks me about this story is that all these cruisers had indeed cruised before and therefore should know that their choices had risks. I understand they are upset over what happened but I don't understand why this is any different than a person who is late for their flight. Sure the plane can still be there while you run up to the door but once they shut it, oh well, YOU were late. Regarding the elderly lady with health issues, I have no idea why she's traveling alone to begin with (from what I've read it sounds like she and her family members were aware of her health issues) - just because you technically can, doesn't mean you should. I can empathize but these seasoned cruisers are riding the wave of lack of personal accountability. Maybe drag the touring company around since it was ultimately their fault they were late in the first place.
  12. Regarding Falmouth (since you asked about it), we've done the ziplining and waterfall climb (booked through RCI), and Hilton Rose Hall and Hyatt Zilara day-passes (booked through Resort for a Day). Regarding feeling safe, I really do think that's up to everyone's particular experience which certainly does vary. The last two times I was there, at some point in our drive, we would come to a town where there were military with machine guns at a certain checkpoint. One side of my brain can say, "Thank goodness there are people to keep everyone safe" and then there's the other side, "Wait, are we NOT safe? Why are these guys here?" so it's all how you look at it. For me, that raised more questions of safety than it did provide comfort but I tend to deal with anxiety. However, once at the hotel property, I felt perfectly safe. Ironically, the hotels I visited are also protected by guards at the gate -- so I have had to readjust how I view any trips to Jamaica knowing that is just the way it is there (or was, it has been some years now).
  13. It's for this reason I don't want to sail on those ships, the suite prices are still comparable with Oasis class yet I get less perks? Doesn't make sense from the consumer's perspective.
  14. LOL, agreed! I do bring my travel stuff but I ran out on an 8-day and my hair was like straw by the end of the trip 🫠
  15. If I may jump in, can anyone who has sailed in this room category let me know if a roll-away bed would fit in this space? I have this booked for 3-people on my next cruise, however, we may have a 4th joining us. It's a "Girls Cruise" so we don't care about being a bit cramped but I don't think sharing the sofa bed is gonna work...I can't tell from the photos if a roll-away would fit without removing furniture. Thanks for any opinions!
  16. Agree with Firefly. We've sailed out of Galveston a few times and have done self-disembark, we're out of the terminal and in our car by 8am. Leaving early also helps keep you in front of traffic. Have a great cruise!
  17. Just wanted to mention that we sail out of Galveston a lot and there are all types of people on the cruise, so your DS won't be alone. I know you're asking specifically about Kids Club (and my "kid" is 16 so I can't comment on that), but I have not witnessed any mistreatment of anyone who "looks different" -- I hope this helps and I hope ya'll have the best family vacation!
  18. Nope, we love the brand and I feel like if I tried another line I'd just be comparing it to RCCL the whole time anyway. I have, however, come to terms that I may only be able to sail once a year instead of two, and per usual, will have to remain very flexible on travel dates so I can lean into any "deals" I find. DH and I did an AI at a 5-star resort in 2021 before the cruise lines lifted the vaccination requirements - all I did the whole time was look out to the ocean wishing my room was waaaaaay out there in the middle of the sea 🫠
  19. This post was pure CC brilliance. Kudos to the OP 😁
  20. My soul would leave my body if this ever happened to me 🤣 Glad it worked out and you happened to have the BC.
  21. It is very easy, I agree with OP that the new terminal layout and facial recognition had us off the ship and through customs within 15 minutes as well. I also agree that they DO make it sound like you simply can't self-disembark if you have more than one piece of luggage per person, but really, what are they going to do about it once it's time to go? Anyway, the new terminal is very nice and easy to navigate, just be prepared for your walk of shame to the elevator if you're handling more than one piece of luggage 😉
  22. Exactly, they don't exist in the Galveston terminal: there are only escalators or elevators. To your point, I understand why they would enforce this as falling luggage could hurt people, obviously, it's not worth hurting anyone. We experienced the ramps you are speaking about in the Orlando terminal which was awesome, kept everything flowing!
