I have done some research with this company for our cruise next year in the Med and its a mixed bag with some folks complaining about them and others full of praise.

The breakfast in Chops as a suite guest was a lovely perk every morning.

we are flying from Birmingham on March 5th on Thomson dreamliner we booked premium economy at initial booking , last year we flew from Manchester with Thomas Cook it was the most uncomfortable flight i have ever taken , narrow seats hard too , one drink in 6 hours if you wanted the toilet drag yourself downstairs about an hour before you want to go and join the queue we switched to Birmingham so we could go with Thomson and downgraded from superior balcony to ordinary balcony money saved paid for upgrade to premium economy , it cannot be as bad as the last time !!!
I quite agree with the above post, we flew on Thomas Cook to Barbados from Manchester and the seats were awful, very hard and uncomfortable. We flew on Thomsons a few years before and it was totally different. My wife and I have both agreed not to go on Thomas Cook planes and we would rather drive to a different airport to avoid Thomas Cook.

Don't forget to sign up for the meet and mingle for the cruise next year.

OMG - And we have not yet discussed the "theft" of food items from one's plate, by total AH jumpers, whilst positioned in a queue.:eek:
Methinks there may be more P&O appalling "buffet experiences" about to surface.
My wife is guilty of stealing food off my plate if its something she was undecided about when choosing !!!!
-
Because of all the hassle of buffet we try to avoid, apart from embarkation day, when its unavoidable. We normally go in the MDR for all our meals. But on the odd occasion we have ventured in the buffet people's manners leave a lot to be desired and as the OP i was interested to see what other passengers experience had been.

What date in May 2016 are you sailing?
-
We are booked on our first Royal Caribbean cruise next May. We are on deck 7, inside stateroom near the library. I just noticed that the staterooms either side of us are family rooms. We are not young ! and I wondered if anyone had any observations ! I also wondered if there is any problem getting a table for 2. I have requested it, we are one 1st sitting. (We really aren't unsociable ! We just aren't comfortable eating with strangers)
We are sailing on the 14.5.16 on Indy.
We sailed on Indy a few years ago and in the main dining room we saw many tables for two passengers and the ones near our table didn't seem too close to each other.
-
We was on Indy and the staff in Chops would get me Black Pudding from WJ to make up my breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages , fried tomatoes, mushrooms and hash browns. Yummy.

Mark,
We just recently enjoyed a week in RS on Jewel, see a mini review I did
In signature.
Concierge got sheet music for our DD, piano works perfectly fine for proper playing of the piano, the Auto-Player also worked, not that it was needed.
Hidden under the cushion of the piano seat, you will find CD's and remote control..;)
We had a PS3 and arranged with concierge a few weeks before we sailed, which games DD wanted, they were in room on embarkation.
Free flowing wine and Moët, ice stand was never empty, and there always seemed to be one or two bottles being chilled.
Fruit plates, nibbles and fresh offerings pretty much everyday.
Binoculars in room.
Concierge met us at check in, escorted onto ship and were able to drop all of our luggage into Suite, from memory this was around 11am. We were also joined by the Guest Service manager.
Priority disembarkation, you arrange a time with Concierge and you'll be escorted off, really smooth and very quick.
Enjoy the RS
On a side note WEDNESDAY or UTD😄
Happy Days!
Many thanks for that. I am a Blade, Sheffield United. Lol

We thought it strange that suite guests on Celebrity X seem to have a higher range of enhancements than on RCI ? I did ask the question direct with RCI about Internet being complimentary on Celebrity X ? RCI said that there was no plans to introduce that at the moment.
-
Look forward to your report

Just ordered the luggage tags off Amazon
-
Thanks for the link.
-
we would also be interested in these luggage tags.
-
I just can't see how shorts should be allowed in the MDR at any time ? We have only been on a few cruises, but we make a special effort every night and more so on formal nights.
-
Thanks for all the replies so far. We are looking forward to the cruise.
-
Well i hope it works !!! Our son plays piano so he is looking forward to playing it.
-
We have booked the Royal Suite on Indy for next year when she is back in the UK.
We stopped in a OS on our last cruise on Indy so we know all the suite perks that you get. But my question is . Is there anything aditional perks being in the RS ? Many thanks.
-
Well i thought it was bad form to be like a butterfly in and out of the queue picking various items food ? But some people do that
-
Christmas Day was a formal night on our last Christmas cruise
-
The thing that has always surprised me about buffets is that some people think you should have to queue at the first counter and wait until everybody has taken their selected food then follow the crowd to the next counter and so on whereas you know you do not want any food from those areas but if you go straight to the fifth counter they perceive you are somehow pushing in.
Regards John
Yes !!!! We have done that and the looks you get, wow
Thomas Cook Caribbean Flight
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
Fellow cruisers we flew on Thomas Cook to Barbados in January and wanted to know what other CC members thought about the aircraft ?
We have seen a few postings which have mentioned the flights and I have added to the threads. But I wanted to know if everyone was as uncomfortable as we were ?
