  1. We have been on the Azura twice, most recently Jan 2015 and on both times, we found the staff team on customer service to be surly and just unhelpful. On our last cruise we had quite a few little minor issues, which did not get resolved and they dragged on for days and even a meeting with the manager did not resolve the problems. In the end out of frustration I emailed the CEO in Southampton with a list of compliants whilst on board the ship. By the following afternoon the Azura Hotel Director had become involved and did sort the issues out straight away.

My point was that it should have been resolved without resorting to emailing the CEO.

Just wondered what other cruisers experience of customer service was on Azura ?

  2. We have been on the Azura twice, most recently in Jan 2015 and found the photographers really nice and friendly, never rude.

We had some extra photos taken to have included in one of the albums we purchased and we booked the photographer and there was no extra charge for this.

Yes, I agree that they can be annoying at times, especially after a flight to the caribbean, but a polite "no thank you", always worked.

  3. Hiya Bob,

Thanks for the answer, strange why RCI responded to me on Facebook messenger that there was no discounts just a flat rate ? We are sailing next year, but it was just a question I thought I would ask together with a question of upgrading the internet speed. The response was, no current plans to upgrade.

  4. From our experience of RCI and P&O, security is not really bothered about soda when you board the ship either at embarkation or your ports of call.

We have seen passengers trying to smuggle booze on INDY and then its taken off them and labeled up to be returned at the end of the cruise. Having said that P&O in January seemed a bit more relaxed about passengers taking booze on.

  5. We sailed on INDY a few years ago in a OS and for the first few days our Gold cards and names were checked on a list in Chops for breakfast and lunch. Also in the CL the same happened when we first went in.

The reserved seating in the theatre, our cards was checked. But never in the pool area.

  6. I have contacted RCI a few days ago about internet speeds on INDY, as we are booked to sale from the UK in May 2016.

The response I got was that there was no current plans to upgrade the current system on Freedom Class ships to the system that they are using on the Quantum Class. So as the previous poster said the speeds can be variable and from my experience it can be very slow at times and I think the bandwidth would struggle to cope with a live video feed.

  7. I have to admit that as a family we was looking forward to the Quantum class ships and on the day that the news was released about the 2016 timetable we was slightly disapointed to see that the main UK ship was not going to be a Quantum class, but INDY.

But having said that we did sail on INDY in 2013 and had a fantastic time on the ship and received excellent service, so we booked anyway for May 2016. I still believe that you get more for your £ in the Med with RCI than P&O.
