Most people leave the ship, it will seem empty and some onboard shops will be closed. We get off the ship and just browse Nassau by the pier and the straw market. There is a Señor Frogs restaurant nearby.

Thanks for the good review. We will be doing a similar cruise next June on Jewel OTS.
-
I like the courtesy hold. It gives me a chance to talk to our pet sitter to see if she is available and to discuss it with my wife.

Freedom OTS to western Caribbean 7 night cruise. Easy logistics for a first cruise. Beautiful ship with amazing ice skating show. Not too big and not too small.

We like to eat dinner in the MDR early, take in a show then wife likes to watch TV while I walk the deck to get some exercise. Then I go back to the cabin to read. Usually up around 8am have breakfast then go on a shore excursion around 11am. One problem is that many shore excursions are for early risers.

Compared to a land vacation with lodging, meals and entertainment, cruising is not more expensive. Prices do vary a great deal by time of sailing, so one must do some research.
-
Smoking is allowed in the casino and usually one side of deck 4 and sometimes one side of the pool area. Never on balconies or in cabins.
-
It always amazes me how cheapskates will rationalize not paying tips to the staff who make your cruise enjoyable.

There is a good trolley tour you can sign up for when you get off the ship in Falmouth (not the ship excursion) about $22. The guide gives a good narration about the history of Jamaica and you see much more than just walking.

We just returned from a 7 day cruise to the western Caribbean on Freedom. Both the public spaces and cabins are in excellent condition. Service was first rate. Lots of activities.

Leaving on the Navagator Oct.18. I have bad backproblems and cant stand but a short time. What do they do when people cant stand in the heat for this?[/
Let them know right away that you will need assistance and they will provide what you need. But you have to attend muster.

$30 for a bag slightly smaller than a standard pillowcase

"We always cruised NCL and RCI except last year when we cruised Celebrity. A better class of people, well mannered children and outstanding service. Next year my wife wants to try RCI, so being a good caring hubby, we will try RCI agIn. Hope it works out because I'd always give Celebrity top consideration. Try Celebrity once and I think you'll be pleased."
We are trying Celebrity in December. RCI has been good except for some problems with rude twenty somethings, who think the rules don't apply to them.

We are on Freedom now. There is a menu and buffet. Service is prompt. Sometimes the MDR closes at 9 am, other times 10am for breakfast. Open seating.
-
Departed early. Seas are choppy and boat is rocking slightly. Doors to outside decks closed due to winds. Forecast is for clearing tomorrow. First try at wifi and though slow still useable. Anchors aweigh.
-
Just received a call from RCI that check in is now 11am to 2pm to facilitate early sailing on Sunday, August 30 out of Port Canaveral.

You are not in public if you are own private property. And for the purposes of this argument, if you are on your balcony you are own private property (you rented it for the week). If no expectation of privacy was expected there would be no need for dividers between the balconies so yes, an expectation of privacy is expected.
But what I can't believe is the butthurt flowing over some cigarettes.
So you have a balcony over the mall or the pool area and no one can look up and invade your privacy while you are breaking the rules smoking and making life miserable for those around you. Pretty self centered I would say. And taking someone's picture is not illegal unless you make money from it so smile and click click lol

Take some pics and post on Facebook. Send the pics to RCI insurer. I would want compensation like just pay for ocean view which is what you got.

Park at the terminal 1 parking garage $20 per day. There is some handicap parking. It fills up fast, but there are two elevators. First stop in the terminal is security. Then go to the left for the elevators to check in. The staff there are very helpful with directions and will guide you smoothly through the whole process.

The boy? And you know what they say about assUme.

??? Just a trite statement.

The ferries are operated by Santorini so you can take them to the new port. But, RCI excursion guests get priority getting off the cruise ship.

Overreaction by both the uncle and the police for all those ridiculous charges piled one on top of the other.

Thanks for the warning. The price alone would have kept me from going.
