Follow up: We ended up taking a taxi from Chankanaab to Sky Reef. We had drinks and snacks and then noticed boats were starting to go back on the water. A few people started to go in the water to snorkel so we let them test it out first. We followed them a bit later and we were surprised at how clear the water was even though it had been so windy earlier. We had a great day despite the rough start.

Any last minute suggestions, what should we do in Cozumel? Had two excursions closed do to wind. Family with kids 10-15.

I am not sure if it is due to the increased number of ships scheduled to dock there, or the orientation of the piers, but there seem to be an increased number of ships cancelled since the pier was extended.
Interesting, thank you. -

I’m on the MSC Seashore. We were supposed to be at costa Maya today, but it has been canceled due to weather. We’re just hovering near the coast just south of Cozumel and will dock in Cozumel tonight.
Sorry to hear, thanks for the update.

I’ve seen a couple of posts that the Costa Maya port may have been canceled on some itineraries this week - possibly due to wind. Can anyone confirm?

I have seen turtles multiple times in West Bay. But as you say....hard to know if they will be there when you are.
Thank you!

Has anyone seen sea turtles while snorkeling in Roatan? Trying to decide between a couple of different snorkeling excursions and want to pick one with higher chances of a turtle sighting. Thank you!

Just got back from Mystic Snorkel from my 3rd time. This was the most we have had in the boat (8). You do have to wear lifejackets when you leave harbor but can get rid of once we hit 1st snorkeling spot. As always, snorkeling is amazing. We went to Columbia, Palancar,El Cielo, and then another reef. A guide goes with you and you are free to dive down and look at everything. We saw others being herded like sheep in the snorkeling vests. The guide has a ring if you need to rest.
A lot of companies go to these reefs. If you like a smaller more personal outing, this is a great one. I've shared a few pictures of our day.
great photos, where did you see the turtle? -
Which sloth and snorkel tour did you book? I see 3 different options on the DJ site. One is $45 with no island tour. Two are $55, I think one includes Island tour and one includes extra time at the beach. I’m assuming they all snorkel at the same location?

@Laurenran @wolft927 it’s up to $6.99 now it seems for bowling
Thank you! Did you get to play? -
If you end up bowling, I’m curious how much it costs. We haven’t done bowling on a cruise yet so we might check it out on our upcoming trip. Thanks for posting the menus, I would have ordered the coconut shrimp and baked brie salad.

Aw man so ocean views aren't any bigger. I know I've seen pics with double pull down bunks so this is something I will for sure research if we book NCL again. We had the water code on our booking so I knew we would get those. It was well after dinner but eventually all the deliveries we expected were received.
How did you sister enjoy the cruise? Did she find the were sufficient activities outside of club? I know if we wanted to get in we were in line 30 minutes before it opened. A couple times we missed it due to prioritizing meals or other activities. But I will also rethink booking during spring break.
We had the code for water too, guest services confirmed and said the water would be delivered but it never came.
Our kids spent a lot of time at the basketball court. We had a great time in all the ports and we were glad there were only 2 sea days, especially with the pool being closed the second sea day and no room in kids club.
My niece and my sister both got what they believe was food poisoning from the ship after the first sea day. Her family did not have as good of a time as our family did.

Thanks for sharing your experience!! We were on the cruise with you. Our kids only made it into the kids club twice. My sister also had 4 in their cabin with only 3 beds the first night. They added the trundle on the second day. They were in an ocean view room. We did not get our free water cartons, even after asking and talking to guest services. We had really quick service at OSheehans for midday snacks, breakfast took forever. We cherish every family vacation even with the ups and downs.

Thank you for sharing your journey on the Bliss. I enjoyed reading about all the ups and downs. I’m on the Jewel out of San Diego soon and also appreciated your Jewel review a few months back. My Dad is already complaining that the ship has been “oversold” because of Spring Break and that there will be kids taking his seat at the bar. I tried to explain that ships do have a capacity and it’s not technically oversold but I guess he thinks allowing more than 2 in a cabin is overselling. I told him to just stay away from the pool area and he should be fine.

Wow tough crowd. Thanks to the original
poster for sharing their experience and now we all know what the age restrictions are for ordering off the kids menu at a specialty restaurant.

I would look into taking a taxi to Cane Garden Bay for an early lunch. Our favorite spot for drinks/food is Quito’s. It’s about 20 min away and you get to see some great views of the island on the way. There are usually open air taxis waiting at the port but we have also booked through cruiseline when we were on Celebrity.

Glad you made it safely to San Diego and are enjoying the city. Local here and we are on the Jewel in April for same itinerary. I will be cruising with my grumpy old dad and a large group of family and friends. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip.

Chankanaab snorkeling closed, now what?
in Cozumel

We had the Fury Catamaran Snorkel excision booked through ship that was supposed to leave at 8:30. Got a message at 8 saying it was canceled. Excursion desk said Chankanaab was still open and happening but they didn’t have enough spots for our group so we decided to take a taxi there. Showed up to find out beach was closed and they wanted full price. Heard from others who booked Chankanaab through ship that when they showed up for excursion they were told no snorkeling and could cancel or go.
