  1. that might be it...the gallery one......pretty fancy ....ha

And I suppose if you add on transp from airport and then to the port the next day it would be quite a bit.

Will have to think about it....right now the Best Western price looks pretty good.....but haven't seen it on the discount site.

So got to decide to pay the 176.00 for BW or the 179.00 for gallery One and then add on the transportation for the 4 of us.

    thanks for your info

  2. Ive stayed at the Best Western Cruise Port Hotel, in Fort Lauderdale it is a nice hotel, Very clean and close to many restraunts and a liquor store and a grocery store.. I am staying there again in May.. The Shuttle to the cruise port is 8$ a person and pick up from the airport is free

is this the one about 5 miles from the port on Stirling Ave ?

  3. I am looking for some info also? we are doing the dolphin swim in grand caymans because we won't have to pay for all 4 of us to go via the ship. they don't let you buy swim tickets for just the kids and then admission for parents....gotta swing for ALL of us to swim here. So we decided just to do the Dolphin cove park admission which should be seeing all the wildlife there....and I am trying to find out about the beach they talk about......need to know if it's decent area to swim and sit in sand or is it a rocky beach.

  4. We bought the FTTF for our next cruise.....Freedom in March

Question is what do we do when we arrive at the port ...... is there a different area we go to going into the building.....will we have special tags. and where do we go when once inside the building?

thank you for any info you can offer.

  5. Was on the Freedom in June (12th Carnival cruise) and I would agree with this post 100%, with the exception of outstanding service in the Steakhouse. Captain did say on the Behind the Scenes tour of the bridge that the dry dock had been postponed due to the new safety equipment (extra generator) that will be added. Freedom certainly needs a dry dock.

do you mean the Drydock that is scheduled in April? or earlier one? Do they have the new extra generators? I thought all ships had already received those this year.

  6. Does anyone know what the beach is like at Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios.....we are taking the kids there for the day....admission info says there is a nice beach....but would like to hear from someone who has seen it.

    thanks in advance.

  7. Bravo....my same thought.....If I have to dress up even for dinner on my vacation....I get grumpy. I go to the Caribbean to dress casual and enjoy myself. Not to try and keep up with the Jones ( which I CAN thank you ).

It's ok with me if you want to....but don't think my experience is any different thatn yours. I do not want to pay more cuz I don't NEED more....I am satisfied with what Carnival has to offer...if I don't want MEATLOAF I order something else....plenty of nice thing son the menu. And I love seeing people enjoying themselves which is what Carnival is all about. I went on a HAL cruise one time....like I said 1 TIME and that was enough for me. Food was great but OMG very quiet and no fun at all....well I did enjoy the cruising part !!!!

  8. We are in our late 50's and early 60's and love a laid back dining atmosphere....not shorts and sandals but nice clean daily clothing.

I would like to see Carnival have a dining area for those that want to dress up to the 9s and not be put with others who dress casually. I don't mind, but some do and I don't want to be looked down on for enjoying my meal in comfort. It's not the old sailing days it use to be.....its a family cruise.....and the food doesn't warrant a tux anymore.....just my opinion.

I would like to have prime rib like I do downtown and not have to have to pack fancy clothing with heels and bangles.....like I said....just my opinion.

A lot of people would say GO FIND A FANCY CRUISE....but I don't think that is fair to say. Just provide a different part of the dining room area or something.
