  1. Or I can have them on other lines and not have to pay more! MSC was super cheap for a solo in an inside cabin. $400 for 7 days. Just under $600 with port fees/taxes included.
  2. It’s a big miss on their part. They cruise to Alaska, they cruise to Canada… they should have a pool with a retractable roof at least like other lines. You can easily cruise out of NY/NJ on other lines. I live in NYC, absolutely not limited to NCL.
  3. I live in Brooklyn. I love cruising out of NYC - and I’ve gone on NCL in the winter. They totally need a cold weather ship! Like Royal Caribbean’s indoor solarium ( and retractable roof pool), like On Anthem of the seas. I picked MSC out of Brooklyn for an upcoming Feb cruise, partly because it’s billed as a cold weather ship- indoor pool and indoor hot tubs! i went in the NCL outdoor hot tubs in my cruise to Oct to Canada last year, but I was thinking the whole time, why nothing indoors NCL! Esp when freezing getting out!
  4. NCL ships aren’t made for winter /cold weather ports anyway. No indoor pools or hot tubs, most activities are outside. They really need to design a different ship for cold weather.
  5. I always get WiFi plus I download some stuff to watch if needed. I’ll make sure I have both for my cruise in Feb. I like something to watch as well.
  6. Sunday morning the traffic shouldn’t be too bad. Are you looking to go into the city for sight seeing or just passing thru to get back home? Honestly, I don’t drive so I know more about public transport than I do about the roads. Google or Apple Maps should be accurate though. I use them for subway/bus options as well. Easiest way to get to nyc from red hook is the ferry but that’s just people, not cars. 🙂
  7. I live in Brooklyn. The cruise terminal is 15 mins from my apartment. I’ve gone in winter out of NYC and Bayonne. I look for ships with indoor pools and other inside activities. NCL is crap for cold, RCCL like Anthem have great solariums and other indoor pools/hot tubs etc. Meraveglia seems built for cold weather with an indoor pool so I’m giving it a go. Flying to Florida means losing a vacation day or two to travel, way easier to get directly on a ship right here in NYC!
  8. Any Gay/Queer folks on this cruise? Lift up your hands!
  9. The photos of bamboo pool show tables and chairs. I don’t see loungers. I’ll still be in there on all the colder days!
  10. I booked an inside cabin for one person just this week on MSC. No issues. Pretty cheap too!
  11. I loved the shows on Anthem. ( if you have rock n roll sensibilities in addition to Broadway)
  12. Just booked this cruise to Canada. Any LGBTQ+ on board?
  13. Sexual assault by a crew member of another crew member
  14. Sexual assault by a crew member of another crew member.
  15. As long as you 1) have the WiFi package and 2) turn on WiFi calling, you can make phone calls as usual. Without WiFi calling turned on, you can call via FaceTime, or fb, Skype etc. instead. ( again as long as you have WiFi itself).
  16. I went on this same itinerary on Anthem of the Seas right after Labor Day maybe 4-5 yrs ago. Not too many kids, hoping for the same with this one ( that one was 9 days though, more sea days). I’m going off the ship each port day, but not the full day, so hoping to get some ship time as well. I don’t have kids, so the fewer the better!
  17. He should download movies to his phone or iPad before you go. Then he can watch what he wants anywhere on the ship.
  18. I’ll be wearing a (rainbow) mask most indoor places on this ship. At least elevators and theater etc.
  19. Not nicer, it’s actually the part of me that likes a good fb fight.;). Then I remember I have to share a ship with them so I edit to a nicer version of what I want to say! Im happy Canada still require vaccines. Testing is kind of false security since you can be positive the day after you test negative, but I’m ok with testing even if it is a PITA with proctored home tests etc.
  20. Hah! Yeah, I’m going to stop correcting. I mean it says what it says. We still need to test. But I’ll stfu and let them figure it out. I don’t know why I feel compelled to respond. 😉
  21. I’m female, so not your target market, but buy me a drink first and we’ll see .., 😜
  22. yup. I’m in NYC too, so I’ve seen the rules. I know there are limited vaccines right now, so they are trying to give them to the highest risk first, but the way it is being discussed, it’s going to lead to discrimination and gay bashing. I already see it on message boards, esp if you dare read the conservative social media boards.( I do to know my enemy :)). Its scarily familiar to early 80’s AIDS anti gay rhetoric. I’m queer and female, it’s my job to be a strong protector/ally ( since so far, the bashing is of gay men), so I make a point of saying something whenever I read someone making a flippant or discriminatory comment about monkey pox transmission.
  23. Yeah you really missed the point, but I’ll be happy not to rub against you ever.
