We were on the same cruise.  I didn't even notice a performer missing - guess I was enjoying the shows too much!  Interesting.......... Yes - the Saturday evening "holiday show" was cancelled.  Announcement made in the theater said due to technical difficulties, but obviously could be a cover.  I told my husband yesterday that we apparently sailed during a good week with everything turning bad again.  I hope you and your enjoyed this cruise as much as we did - we were just so thankful to be back!

I went to the welcome aboard show and they had 4 females and 4 males singing and dancing.  The next shows I attended only 3 females and 4 males.  The playlist performers never skipped a beat.

We had a great time on the Dec 19th cruise and will be back on for the January 2nd sailing.

Have a 4-day cruise coming up and just got an upgrade offer to move to an Ocean Suite (mid ship) for $256..

    1.  Does our cheers drink package come with us, we booked RU2 initially

    2.  Is it worth the upgrade?

Only you can determine if its worth it.  Yes the cheers package moves with you as I just did a similar upgrade and my cheers package moved over just fine.  Just call and they will upgrade the room and you have to complete the checkout online.  Takes a few minutes for it to show and you to be able to print out the new luggage tags etc.

Thank you! Now if only I can speak to someone at Carnival to get this changed☹️

I was on hold for 50 minutes yesterday and got the worst customer service rep ever.  So far I've been on hold for an hour this morning.

Booked solo, paid double occupancy. DH has decided to cruise now.

Is it possible to add him to the booking without additional cost, besides tax and port fees.

Been trying to reach/call Carnival to find out with no avail.

Btw, this was a casino offer.

    Thanks in advance.

Just have to pay the tax and port fees.  We did this on the 12/19 sailing.  Just call your PVP or carnival and have him added on.

  5. I think the cookies are subjective.  I actually enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies as I prefer them really crispy.  I didn't enjoy the cookies from the deli as they were a little softer.  My brother in law loved the chocolate chip cookies and ate a plateful every day.

I don't think I ever ate the cookies on my previous cruise.

Incidentally, the Walgreens IDNOW test is officially 24 hours for results, but I've never had it take nearly that long. Between my wife and I we've taken it 5 times. Four times we were emailed our results in 30 to 60 minutes. One time it took about 3 hours.

In my experience it's pretty quick, though it could be that varies by location.

Everyone in my family had it in under just one hour.  My brother in law who took the test in the Pittsburgh PA area took just under 24 hours.  Which was 23 hours of sweating it out wondering why it was taking so long.

I will be on the Legend this coming Sunday for 7 days and unfortunately need to connect to work every once in a while besides emails.  I know, I'm on a cruise and need to relax and forget work. 🙂  The question is, does the premium plan allow connection through laptop to be able to remote connect?  I'm sure connections will be spotty and I'm expecting that to happen.  But just wanted to know if others have been able to remote connect to work?  Thank you.

We bought the premium plan on the glory it works great.  I hotspot my phone and my whole family is able to piggyback off the one account.  It works best from 9pm to 9am

Anyone know if it's possible to cancel a January cruise without penalty?

Heald mentioned in his video today that there would still be penalties for cancelling the cruise.  He didn't mention rescheduling to a later date which is what I am going to try as soon as I can get a hold of my PVP.  Even so a straight cancel of my January cruise only carries a $220 penalty since my cruise has been rescheduled so many times.

I would take a double take at doing the no show and expect insurance to pay. The insurance usually says if you or any travel mate has to cancel it pays. The insurance will guide through this. The no show is usually when someone does not have insurance or in a case of someone just not going.  We had a family cruise all planned and my my husband decided he wasn’t going. If i had cancelled him even after cruise paid in full i would of still had to pay additional. Yeah go figure!  So he was a no show. This is comparing apples and oranges but a few days before one of our cruises my adult son had a brain aneurysm. I had to scramble and call to cancel. We were told how to go about the insurance deal.  I did have to print up papers and the doctor had to fill out and sign. Glad i didnt play around because son was in hospital over an hour from home.

I hope everything with you son turned out ok.  Because of the discounted cruise rate we are going to do this as a no show and go the insurance route.  Really nothing to lose.

    https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-refund-cancellation-policy

this doesn’t say the person can’t cruise. This says that the person in the state room is entitled to cancel and get FCC, not that they have to. They shouldn’t have to cancel if they haven’t had close contact with someone with covid.

Thank you for pointing this out.  I went throught that with the Carnival rep and they said they could take the covid positive traveler off the  booking and they would get a full refund.  But since it was on a discounted rate a no show would be the most benefical from a financial standpoint.  The traveler left was going to have to pay more then 2x the rate, I think it was closer to 3x the rate.

Covid is treated as any other illness. Get confirmation from a doctor along with orders not to travel in order to file a claim.

Check to see if the policy has a Single Occupancy provision. It will pay the difference if the cruise line charges more when one cancels.

The other traveler doesn't have insurance.  So the only one with insurance is the actual traveler with the positive test.  Also the traveler with the positive test booked using a fantastic rate code so it would be a lot more $ in total if we took the positive test traveler off the booking.

I hope it works out for you. I could see Carnival maybe giving the affected party a FCC but then allowing you to go but with a new pricing which will cost you double the amount.

You are exactly right.  Thats the situation the presented to me which I turned down because the rate would more then double since the person who tested positive had the rate code applied.  Right now its cheaper to be a no show.

Just have them be a no show, problem solved!

According to Carnival "you and they are entitled to a FCC for the amount paid to Carnival" if you test positive.  So of course we would want the FCC instead of just losing the money. I was able to get a hold of a carnival rep (not my PVP) and we are working through the problem now.

  14. Had a member of our party test positive two days prior to the cruise sailing.  I've been trying to get a hold of my carnival PVP for the last few hours with no success.  We have a total of 8 people in our party flying from all over the country.  The one person who tested positive isn't related to or have any contact with his state room companion.  According to the Carnival website from what I am reading is that if you are assigned to the same stateroom and your roommate test positive for Covid then you are not allowed to board the ship.  I was wondering if anyone came across the same situation where the two people assigned to the state room are coming from different parts of the country and haven't had any contact.

so it wasn't that you couldn't get  3 or 4 person room, it was that it was better financially for you to do it this way. that's a big difference.

Yes I should have worded it differently.  But the purpose of Carnival putting that promo code in was to keep capacity down.  I see no other reason to limit the special offer to two guests.  It was cheaper for me to pay 2x the rate and leave the room empty then just to add a 3rd person to another room.

It probably depends if the room has those beds in the wall/ceiling. Not every single room has those.

We booked a total of 4 rooms using a promo code that only allowed two of the guest to get the promotional offer.  If we added a 3rd guest it would have exceeded the costs of just getting a extra room and leaving it empty.  We had a odd number of guests so and I have 3 kids so one room will be empty.  PVP confirmed that doing it this way was the most cost effecient given the promo code.  He mentioned he had to do this for other families using the same promo code.
