MSC Voyagers Club also offers a status match with the programme, allowing existing and new cruisers to MSC Cruises to enjoy the same incentives they would typically enjoy with their pre-existing memberships with other cruise lines, hotel groups, airlines and tour operators.

What is the MSC Status Match programme?

Upon joining the Voyager’s Club, cruisers can enjoy exclusive benefits and privileges simply by mentioning any existing loyalty benefits. This includes those with the airline, tour operators, hotel groups and even other cruise lines!

This allows MSC Cruises to match passenger status from other cruise lines, as well as other hospitality industries for the ultimate holiday benefits.

  2. I believe the status match is for anyone as long as you have booked a cruise and can only get the match once.  Call and ask about it , an agent was able to get me the OBC without the status that I now  have and my husband had the Gold so we got our discount for the cruise coming up in January. There is no rhyme or reason why some people get their status quickly and others like myself had to wait months, good luck.

The link posted may be out of date.

NCL Platinum no longer gets Black.   Black status mentioned in link was replaced 2 years ago with Diamond. NCL Platinum now  gets Gold.

CC has spreadsheet thread for those doing  status match to post levels and what MSC awarded for  match.

Status match can only be awarded once for MSC.

thanks for the clarification... upon more research I did find it updated info as you posted.  Gold is good enough for me for a first time MSC cruiser though.

If you are RC Gold, you should not send the status match request because you can only get the status match between MSC and other company once and so you will stay at the Gold equivalent level forever, even if you advance to better status in RC. For example, my husband and I are emerald, but my husband is two points away from being  diamond. So I just sent my status match request for me and my husband will wait for the Diamond status to be sent, otherwise when he turn diamond in RC he couldn't  ask again. This is the information I was given 🙂

I was under the impression that if you do not cruise within 3 years that your status drops and you can resubmit a new status match? Maybe I read between the lines.  https://emmacruises.com/msc-status-match-2/

  5. Exactly what I was looking for and settled on NCL Greek Islands & Turkey, several dates available off the top of my head, Oct 2, 2022 and one I booked April 17 , 2022 a 7 day cruise you might be able to piece the 2 together with some time for land tours. Check for more dates. Also check Viking Ocean cruises, there's an 11 day one .

Getting back to the original title:  My opinion is that "ignored" is the wrong mindset.

Many people are posting that they are submitting new requests a dozen times or more, if their original one is not filled quickly.  The system must be swamped.  I bet if each of us submitted our request just once, and then had a bit of patience, it would all be handled in order.  But, too late for that now.

I just had a reply to 3 of my emails all with incorrect references to what I had submitted.  I sent the forms for both husband and I back on June 7th and he got his only after I submitted each separately in July, then he got Gold and I did not, both Platinum on NCL.  The most recent emails were to certify that my husband was granted the match status, no reference to me, nor the  login issues that I sent screenshots of and not recognizing my account #.  I think some clerks working on the status match are better than others, also the Europeans seem to get it done much quicker. And another point I sent hard copies of my information to the Florida office with no response to a Jeffrey Lee and then get another email telling me that their website is not receiving the submitted forms and to email them instead, then a subsequent email telling me that this is not the correct information and to submit via their website. In other words they ( US site) does not know what they are doing!

Dealing with MSC Customer Service in the USA is often a horrible experience.  There are still some major cruise agencies that do not do business with MSC because of the frustrations.  My favorite cruise agent/agency does deal with MSC but they have admitted to me that it can be difficult when they must deal with a human (apparently the computerized system is OK).  When we first dealt with the status match issue I had also sent several e-mails and made a couple of calls.  I finally got to one of the two (that is what I was told) folks that handle all the status match stuff and she was very helpful.   While on the phone she was able to find the status match requests from both DW and myself and got it done!

But we are also big fans of MSC's Yacht Club and have found it worth the hassles encountered with the pre-cruise stuff.  Once aboard our MSC cruises all has been quite fine (at least in the YC).   But we recently cancelled our only MSC booking (14 days on the Meraviglia) because we were concerned about MSC's silence on some COVID-related issues.  Ironically we then booked a Seabourn cruise (out of Barbados) for similar dates and that particular booking has, so far, been the most difficult and troubled booking we have ever made.   If I had to do it over again I would have kept the MSC booking :(.

    Hank

Can you please share the phone # or numbers that you used to reach someone, I am on 3 mos with totally inept reply emails ( once every month) thanks

  8. A few days ago I received an email from MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com  that they do not handle status matches, odd since so many have received such also it was an email than an agent told me to use, in the same email I get informed that only way to get it is through their website.

Well today I get this email. Thanks for contacting MSC Voyagers Club
For some reason the system is not performing the status match. Please reply back to this email with proof of status level with full name, status level and corporate logo, in either PDF or JPEG file format, as an attachment.

So much for trying to doing it right.  Still waiting since June 7th.

  9. There are now at least 3 threads with the same issue being discussed with people posting waiting and some getting their status match within days and others like myself since June 7th still waiting after calls, resubmission to said email address and also this one MSCExistingReservations@msccruisesusa.com , sent hard copies to FLA office too. Husband got  his NCL Platinum to Gold in July,  but not me even though both were submitted at the same time. All I get is automated responses.  Even their FLA office phone says to call their main office as there is no MSC Club phone # to call.

  10. There is another thread about this same issue and I have posted on that one.

My story is somewhat the same, I first booked with a TA then applied for the Voyager's number on June 7th for husband and myself and got them quickly.

I then submitted the forms via their website with no reply, reached out to my TA and said she couldn't help, I called and spoke to an agent who gave me this email address:

MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com and so I sent them the required forms, received an automated reply and thus continued this way till July when my husband received his Gold status but not me.

So I resubmitted my forms and called MSC, there is NO phone # for the Club dept.  I just recently sent hard copies of all my info to Ft. Lauderdale office now 2 weeks with no reply.

Just last week I called MSC again with a different issue as the website does not recognize my Voyager's club number and cannot check status and at one point even had a message that my booking number did not exist when I filled out a contact form.

The agent was good enough to put an additional $50 OBC and made notes to send to MSC Voyager's dept.

Some people are getting them faster than others especially in the UK .

So a few weeks ago I was able to use the discount to reprice with their free balcony upgrade since my husband has the Gold status and is listed as the primary passenger.

Also received the $50 credit.  There is no rhyme or reason as to why some get theirs approved faster than others as you can see I am still waiting and my husband got his  for our cruise in January.

So when I login and click on Voyagers Club, it asks if I want to become a member. I have not gone through those prompts because I didn't want to potentially screw up the status match. Are you saying that once assigned, I will see my number there instead of it asking me to join? Or do I need to join and then my number will show up there once matched?

I still see the prompt and I first booked and received a Voyagers number once I registered with the booking number. I am having the same  issue, I was on the phone 30min last night and agent tried to help but nothing has changed.

I just wanted everyone to know that I submitted my status match.  Once I booked a cruise I  emailed mscvoyagersclub@msccruisesusa.com     I let them know that I had submitted my information for a cruise match,  my cruise confirmation number (cruising in a month) and the levels I had with other lines.  I got an email back in hours that I matched NCL Platinum to Gold.

You are very lucky, I am still waiting...

Hi, 2 weeks ago I signed up for the voyagers club once my cruise was booked, received the Voyagers club number then completed the status match form (boyfriend only) & a screen shot from the RCCL Website & submitted. So far, I have checked both my email and boyfriends, and I have also signed into MSC using his sign on & mine, have seen no update.  When I sign in to MSC Voyagers club, under membership info (Rectangular box) it says "Welcome Membership with the voyage number, Boyfriend's name , 0 points. To the right it has a bar grid, titled, My points, classic membership is highlighted, then the scroll bar is placed in the middle.  Once the status has been matched, will the points increase from 0? and will the bar graph show a different membership level? I'm not sure where to look to see new status match changed? Also not sure if I should call someone or maybe I haven't waited long enough

If you read through the comments here, most of the US residents looking for a status match have waited at least 8 to 9 weeks, I am at 11 weeks . My husband got his status match from NCL Platinum to Gold at 8 weeks , calling only gets you to the MSC booking agents, MSC Voyagers Club only has an email for contacts.  I am at the point of sending a letter with the account information to their headquarters in Fla.

Due to my submittal error, I was upgraded to Gold and wife to Diamond.  On our forthcoming cruise, will we receive all the perks of Diamond based on my wife's status???

I believe so since my husband has Gold and I am still waiting on my status match and last time I spoke to an MSC agent  we were able to reprice with the free balcony upgrade and the 5% discount.

Is the $50 OBC per person/each Voyager Club passenger?  They only gave me one, and I notice my husband's VC number is missing from the Cruise Details.

It may be one per cabin, you'll have to ask them.. also about his VC number, mine was missing even after booking and is still incorrect when trying to log in, still waiting for Gold Status match.

I was on hold for over an hour and got disconnected.  That was not the main customer service number.  Then I called the main number and only held for 10 minutes.  The rep was nice and worked with someone backoffice right while I was on the phone and she repriced my cruise giving me the 5+15% Voyagers discount on the sailing.  I was happy. I saw everything updated right away online and then got a new booking email.

How do you know if the $50 onboard credit is applied?  Any way to tell before you are on board?

I can see my $50 in my account under the tab cruise details scroll to the bottom and I too just repriced my Jan cruise.

I sent in status match for my wife and I about 5 weeks ago.

About 2 weeks ago a  voyagers club number was added to my booking for me, but it Gives an error message when you try to log in to voyagers club.

Today a number was added to the booking for my wife, but the same thing, the number does not work to log in to voyagers club.

I matched NCL Platinum and my wife was IHG Spire Elite but have no idea to what we were matched.

NCL Platinum gets matched to Gold..  the same issue with the error coming up on my booking and I had already verified my number was correct... it's driving me batty! at least my husband was given Gold also and is the primary passenger so we can see the cruise booking under his account.

  18. I check my account daily and daily I cannot even see my status since I keep getting an error regarding my account number which I verified already with an MSC agent, my TA and the email they sent regarding my membership.

Nobody at MSC can help with the membership issues I am having when I call them, they refer to emailing the voyagers club.
