I’ve booked my flight through Flight Ease because of the incredible price and route. When I talked to someone at HAL he explained that they received great rates due to the reciprocal relationship they have with the airlines. The rates could change as well as the flights (which could change if you booked on your own) but typically they don’t. If the prices changed for people they wouldn’t use Flight Ease. I was able to link my airline mileage account to my reservations and picked my seats upon booking. If I need to cancel before I make payment I don’t lose anything.

Once you book with flight ease, are you able to upgrade with miles?

We will be cruising out of Copenhagen next June and I’m wondering about places to stay. Will probably do two nights per cruise and one night post cruise. Probably won’t be using public trains/bus for getting to and from airport and port terminal but don’t mind using them to explore the sights. Any hotel/area recommendations?

We were on the Eurodam in April and they offered a discount if you ate at a specialty restaurant the first night. We had made reservations prior to our cruise and they gave us a discount to eat there again later in the week.

Look at the deck plans and see what is above you. Use the elevators as landmarks. If you’re under the Lido or Sea View pool, you’ll hear chairs scraping.
-
Does the Zuiderdam have NY Pizza now? We chose this ship over the Rotterdam because we like the newer public spaces. Makes it more like the Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam.

I’m looking at going on the Zuiderdam July 2019 outnof Copenhagen. This would be 2 weeks (the longest cruise I will have taken to date) and includes Iceland, Faroe and Shetland Islands. Any suggestions on room type? A verandah seems too pricey since airfare will be expensive. I’m thinking an inside or ocean view.

I was on the Eurodam recently and they took us upstairs to eat even though we were open dining. We ended up at a table for six.
-
I was on the Eurodam last week and they offer a special for the first night - save 25%. We had made reservations in advance so they gave us that first night at a discount and we moved my prepaid reservation to a different night.

I’m glad to hear it’s been a good week! I’ll be getting on next week. I hope we have good weather too.

We’re going to be on the Eurodam at the end of the month and I’m disappointed to hear about the B.B. King band. That’s our favorite end of evening hang out.

Sounds intriguing, can you elaborate on the ingredients?:)
It’s made with Absolut vanilla vodka, Creme de cacao, and chambord (a raspberry liqueur). The pearls are a couple of mini chocolate chips in the bottom. It’s served in a funky glass that sits in a bowl of ice.

A black pearl from the Silk Den...I can’t wait to have one in a few weeks.

I’m on the Eurodam next month and have already booked the Tamarind for the first night. I’d love a credit back if there is a discount!

I’m not sure if Marriott and Starwood have fully reciprocal points yet, but I used Starwood points for the W in Fort Lauderdale and only have to pay the $30 resort fee. You might call the Marriott call center and find someone knowledgeable- the person I talked to checked into all of the properties for me to compare rates.

I save hotel key cards for the lights. No worries of it disappears or I forget it.

I had my TA check into this and our original deal was better than this sale. Always good to check though!

You should be able to make an 11:55 flight- but you should do the walk-off -- and take a taxi rather than cruise line transfer.
Thanks Navybanker teacher! I think that’s what we will do. We were planning on using a taxi or Uber. I’ll also look into downloading the customs app to expedite the whole process.
-
See when the TA will make your final payment. I noticed our cruise far went down a week before one of our cruises so I called my TA. Turned out she had made the final payment (never mentioned how early she would be doing this) so we lost out in saving some money.
-
Yikes - I just looked and there are 6 ships coming in when we do in April. We depart from FLL at 11:55 am. Would you suggest that we walk off with our luggage? This is the earliest I’ve flown out after a cruise.
-
We're staying at the W in Fort Lauderdale. Anyone stayed in this area and have recommendations? We will have left home about 2am so I know we will be tired and want to have an early dinner.

How many shares do you have to own in order to receive a benefit?

Boston to Montreal was my first HAL cruise and I'm hooked! This is a fantastic itinerary but also a busy one! I think we only had one sea day to relax. Have a great trip and I'm glad you're doing your research - I wish I had done more research before my first cruise.

You can always email a personal cruise consultant and have them refare it. Then you'll have a person to contact to check in and see if there are any better deals on your cruise.
Flight ease?

We booked business class (my first time so I’m excited) and the tickets were half of what I found through United directly. We can’t choose our seats on the Belgium-Copenhagen flight since that’s through a different airline.
