Oh dear ! babs where have you been ;) it's not only in the Commodore Bar but also in the Chart room. ( across the fleet)
Cold Canapés are served in the Chart room during pre diner cocktails usually after 5pm and up until 8.30pm/ish .
Hot & cold Canapés are usually served in the Commodore Bar from about 7pm.
babs ..that's the beauty of Cunard line ;)
is that only on the crossings? Or on the regular sailings as well? sorry to ask but I'm "virgin" to Cunard

Norwegian Cruise Line has several ships with cabins for Solotravellers.
you might want to check with them
-
for me it depends on when I can back home. Is it after 6pm I order in.
I will just to lazy to do any cooking :D afterall I'm spoiled after a cruise
same goes the last night before the flight out to the cruise.
don't won't to do dishes *lol*

One of my favorite things is booking a box in the Royal Court Theatre on one of the special nights. The staff dressed as Bell boys will take you to a reception area give you chocolates and champagne, and then escort you to your box where another bottle of champage will await you for the show. You cannot beat the experience.
can this be pre booked?

Hello there,
I'm a "Virgin" to Cunard.
So far I only cruised with NCL.
Can anyone give me some Insider tipp or General tipp?
I will be on the QV in October.
Anything I must do while onboard?
thanks a lot
-
hi,
I have made 10 Cruises with NCL so far and I don't anything to complain about.
I like their Food. Always had a friendly cabin Stuart. The Crew was always helpful when needed.
sure you have People complaining about the additional costs you have onboard, but you have them also if you go on vacation to a Hotel, Resort or Club.
And as every Company they want to sell something (drink packages, Dining packages etc) You just have to deceide if you want buy or not. Never had the Feeling I was avoided because I didn't want to buy any of those things.
Just enjoy your time onboard. It will be great :-)

hi,
has anyone done this excursion? Is it worth it and what can you expect?
thanks

hi,
I will be in Milan for a day in October.
Has anyone any Shopping recommodations?

:eek::eek:
Good grief - the measures people will take! Unbelievable!
Personally I am for NCL - they are a business not a charity - at the end of the day the profit made from the drinks revenue keeps cruising affordable.
I will - on cruiselines which allow it - ie Celebrity - board with two bottles of a decent champagne such as Bollinger bought from duty free at the airport - to drink in our cabin - but have never ever ever stooped to a low of bringing on waters, sodas and "smuggled" alcohol. I always have a drinks package on every cruiseline I cruise with - whether its a perk or purchased, always an essential.
I run a business which includes an outdoor dining facility in a beautiful setting, it wont be the first time and wont be the last that I chase folks away for bringing their own picnic! OR - one of them buys a drink - five of them sit down and out comes the water and sodas from their backpacks.. NOPE - not happening - I want that table for the five paying guests - I suspect NCL feel the same way.
I also suspect that with this, you will soon see specials run on the dailies on packs of water.
NCL prices are amazing - even for us in the UK who often pay higher prices although our perks include grats.
I have done 2 x NCL and 2 x Celebrity - all with flights, over the last eighteen months - NCL pricing is WOW! Value for money incredible!
Of course on Celebrity, water is included in the package - but hey - can assure you my Celebrity cruises cost a LOT more than those with NCL.
I just cannot fathom why on earth they would have allowed free carryon of waters and sodas in the first place - (unless perhaps there is a genuine medical reason which I understand, they are still allowing for.).
Good for you NCL - thanks for giving us choices - Affordable cruising with plenty free options - and other options available to add on for those of us who wish to do so.
I will add (for those who are jumping ship) that - although I love Celebrity, I missed NCL's live music bars - and missed the fantastic SPAs - (Epic's SPA V Celebrity Persian Gardens - EPIC wins leagues and leagues above!).
There are pluses and minuses in everything - you just have to weigh up your options and choose what is right for you.
You might jump ship - but the water is not always blue'er (or cheaper!) - there is always a price to pay!
so true. I only had a bottle of water or Soda with me if I had not finished it after being ashore.
Soon I guess all the other cruise line will follow with that rule. But no one want's to be the first.
-
hi, I have done 5 Cruises with the Epic already and I love it.
you don't have to Dress up if you don't want to. You can though. There will be a "formal" night. On that evening you can Dress up.
The Cirque was great. They have 2 Shows per night and you have to reserve. Not because it's mandatoy but you won't get a seat ;)
on my last cruise I had Dinner twice in the Buffet Restaurant (theme Evening / once Italien and once Asia) was great. You can wear leisurly Cloth there.
If you Need more advise in regards of the ship just let me know ;)

I did this tour and can advise
Dubrovnik: just go into the City yourself if you haven't been there before.
I did the walk on City wall. It was just great. Just take it easy due to the heat.
Split: I went on an excursion to "Krk" National Park. That was amazing.
Don't Forget your bathing suits! You can walk around (in the shade) and go Swimming in the River/Lake. Very refeshing on a hot day. (and will since you go in August)
Santorini: I would just go ashore yourself and stroll around. Or take a leisurly tour over the Island.
Athens: can't comment on that as I stayed on the ship. My friends went ashore to see the Akropolis and they told me it was soo croweded. It was not worth it since you have to stand in the sun Long time. Oh, if you stay on the ship you basically have the ship to your self ;)

hi Ladies,
I will be in Milano in October.
any recomodation on where to shop?
-
Will do my very first Cunard cruise on the Victoria in October this year.
I'm excited. Will be travelling Solo to celebrate my 40th birthday
-
just booked my cruise on QV for October 15th 2016 and I excited.
Will be my first time on a Cunard ship.
Travelling Solo and hope I will a great time
-
thanks :-)
It would be Western Med from Civitaveccia with stops in Naples, Sardinia, Corsica, Genua

Hi,
I consider cruising on QV.
Can anyone tell me what the costs are onboard. Drinks, food etc
Never been on a Cunard ship before.
Also, on the website the don't have prices for excursions.
And are any kind of amenities be bookable before the cruise?
thanks a lot
-
Hi,
I'm considerung trying Cunard and found a good rate for the QV from/to Civitaveccia.
As I'm travelling Solo, I'm not sure if the ship is suitable for Solo travellers.
Has anyone any experiance?
-
there are some inside categories that can only hold 2 Pax.
but there are those "Family iniside" cabins that can hold up to 4.
I would go directly with NCL. There you get the first Hand answers
-
If you do the cruise out of Copenhagen, I don't recommend to go to Berlin.
Not that I don't like Berlin but it's just not worth it to drive there 3 hours (one way)
There are so many other nice cities/Options you can do when in Warnemuende.
I would recommend to visit Rostock (about 25minutes away)
-
I never gained any weight during the cruise. With all the Walking on ship and the dancing etc I went home the same weight as before.
-
I did Alaska twice and I highly recommend to at least go to one of those "Salmon Bakes"
The Food was sooooo good.
I liked the one in Juneau the best. It's in a forest with nice surroundings
-
We just got off the Escape this morning, and for the 2nd straight cruise, we were given VIP service. We have no idea why! The perks included:
- Fruit basket and mini-sandwiches in our cabin upon boarding
- Other snacks every single afternoon
- Robes and slippers (embroidered with Haven)
- Bvlgari bath products
- Personal concierge who called every day to check on us, and offered to make reservations, escort us to shows, etc. (We used her to get into a sold out restaurant we weren't able to book ourselves!)
- Invite to Captain's reception in the Haven (we thought it would be funny to wear the robes, but we refrained).
- Invite to private VIP event in District Brewhouse
- Priority disembarkation (luggage tags and escort off the ship).
We are silver latitudes level. We sail in standard balcony cabins. We rarely gamble on the ship, and we spend very little... We have no clue why we have been selected to be VIPs twice now, but we certainly aren't complaining!
Can anyone shed any light on why this might happen?
what cabin have you booked?
-
isn't NCL also going out of New Orleans?
Is that your only reason to change the cruise line?
-
Why do you want to go there?
to eat cuban Food that does not cost a fortune......
apperently it's a very good Restaurant with reasonable price

hi,
as said before, if you want to share the cabin with your parents you might want to look at the "bathroom"
Basically it is an open bathroom. When you get into the cabin, the shower and toilett is on the left/right of the cabin door with a milkglass door. It can be "closed" with a curtain to the rest of the cabin. The sink is a bit closer to the rest of the cabin (other side of the curtain)
I would recommend to book a double room for your parents and treat yourself with a Studio cabin
the ship itself is great. I have done 4 Cruises with the Epic
