  1. Did the Epic 3 times already and I travelled alone.

I had a Studio cabin and every evening there was a "get together" and Dinner plans where made.

I never had to eat alone.

I met a lot of nice People I'm still in contact with.

    You will enjoy your time

  2. Did the Western Med 3 times so far

always from/to Barcelona with Norwegian Cruise Line.

    Next year they do

Naples: the City is not the best, but a great Gateway to Pompeji or Capri

Civitaveccia: Port for going to Rome

Livorno: Port for Florence/Pisa. There is great excursion to the "Cinque Terre" / In my oppinion the best. If you are interest in Art though, you have to go to Florence

    Cannes: a lovely City

    Provence: Port for Marseille

I would recommend to have a day or two in Barcelona before you get on the ship. It's a great City.

  3. hi,

    I Need some advise.

I'm in Miami and want to try the Cafe Versaille.

I'm a Little conserned as it is in Little Havanna and I read that it's not the best area. Normaly I'm OK if travelling in a bigger Group.

This time however I will be by myself (female traveller) and I'm not sure about this area and being all by myself.

  4. It's terrible, isn't it! The addition! What to do! Oh yea...buy future cruise certificates while on board and spend every free minute throughout the year researching, selecting, and booking! Oh yea...wondering how long our money will last and what to tell the kids about how the cruise line got all their inheritance. But worth it! Congratulations and glad you had a great cruise! By the way....you'll find that all NCL crew are wonderful folks that bring happiness to us constantly while on their ships.

:D I don't have Kids, so I don't have to worry about someone complaining I have "wasted" their inheritance *lol*

I have been on most of the NCL ship's and I just LOVE cruising.

Best way to spend your vacation !!

  5. I have been on most of the NCL ships. Only one missing is the Norwegian Sky (will do this October), Norwegian Spirit and the Dawn (however was on the sister ship "Star")

each of the different "classes" of ships have the pro's and con's.

It really depends on what you are looking for.

most time I go by the Itinerary

  6. hi,

    has anyone done excursions in

    - Santa Marta

    - Cartagena

    - Gatun Lake

    - Colon

    - Puero Limon

There are no Information on the NCL Webpage for any excursions for "Panamacanal" :-(

I'm interested in doing that tour but I Need more info on the excursions to see if they would fit into my Budget or if I have to stick with a carribean cruise

  7. I've been trying to get my cousin to take a cruise for years and she's finally giving into the idea for her 30th birthday, but with multiple conditions. It has to be a short cruise (perfect because I don't have much unscheduled time off work) and has to include alcohol and food to cut down costs. So I've narrowed it down and suggested the Sky to her. Now I know she isn't the most impressive ship, but with 2 full port days, I doubt we will need anything really fancy. My questions are:

-How are the all-inclusive drinks? I don't need top shelf liquor but I don't want bottom either. Are their long lines?

-I've never been to Great Stirrup Cay, which is appealing to me. How are the conditions for making it in October/November?

    -Any other random thoughts/experiences/suggestions?

when should the cruise be? I heard the Sky will be in DryDock in early 2017

  8. The video was just on the NBC 12 noon news here in NYC! It was both parents that missed the ship. They said NCL gave the couple lodging and transportation.

NCL might, togehter with the Port Agent, help with getting a Hotel and flights back to NY, but they not will pay for anything.

They offer assistance. It must be paid by the passengers themselves. Afterall it was their fault (well, the wifes fault)

  9. Generally, the cruise line will help with arrangements (board and transportation) but the cruise line won't help to pay for either.

Has it been confirmed that NCL paid for anything?

    NCL will not pay anything.

The try to help with travel arrangment trough the Port Agent in Nassau but they won't pay for anything.

Why should they, it's not NCL fault she was late. The ship even waited 30 more minutes and that costs NCL additional port fees.

  10. like Keith said, you Need to have all valuable etc in your carry on luggage. If something gets brocken or missing you will not get reimbursed.

Also, medication should always be in the carry on luggage.

I usually have a small trolly as carry on. With that I don't have to carry it the whole time till the cabin is ready to drop everything

  11. We HATED the Inter-Continental.........

    You made a good choice....:D:D

What about the Holiday Inn? The location is great, as it's right across the street from Bayside Marketplace, and CVS one block down......

    5-10 minutes from the port.....

Nothing to add from the other properties you listed........

    Good luck!!!:D

What is so bad about the Inter-Conti Hotel?

I have a Reservation for one night in October. Was a good deal (better then the Holiday Inn) but now I'm a bit unsure
